The staff at Wilsmere House and particularly in Kenton unit are exceptional. They have been so caring supportive and professional. Mihaela and her team in Kenton unit were welcoming, friendly and good humoured. They always brought a smile to my husbands face and really looked after him well. He was
relaxed and happy. I always felt valued and welcomed when I visited too. We will definitely come to Wilsmere again and recommend it to others.

The care my uncle received whilst at Wilsmere was absolutely incredible during his respite. It was our first family holiday after many years and we felt at ease knowing he was in good hands. The team kept us updated, and most importantly looked after him like family. When we picked up my uncle, we could
tell he was very happy to be there and didn't want to leave as well!

My son is here since 2018 till today. All the time he gets good care, I usually come to visit my son from Tanzania every after five to six months. Finds him good. They communicate with me every time to update of everything which makes me very happy. Management and all staff are very good, they know
what they are supposed to do. I have to say God will award them all.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Wilsmere House care team for the exceptional care they have given to our mother. Knowing she is alone here in London has always been difficult for us, but from the very beginning, their kindness and dedication have brought us comfort and peace of mind.
During our two-week visit, we witnessed firsthand the genuine care and attention they provided everyday. We are specially touched by the effort they made to decorate her room with our family photos, it truly made her feel home and connected to us. We also deeply appreciate the warm hospitality extended to us during our stay, including the lovely meals they prepared. One of the most memorable moments was visiting the garden where our mother spends happily her time with us. Hearing the planned birthday party for her while we are here means so much to us. Although it is hard to leave her again, we do so with lighter hearts. knowing she is in such caring and compassionate hands. Thank you for everything.

My husband spent 2 weeks at Wilsmere House for respite care. This was to give me, his wife & carer, a break. The staff were kind and attentive towards my husband, and at the same time, professional. They were also understanding towards me which meant a lot.
I was however irritated to receive an invoice
for payment after my husband had left as I paid in full on his arrival.

As someone with over 20 years working in the care industry i cannot fault the care ,compassion ,respect and dignity shown to our friend by the wonderful care team at Wilsmere House they are a credit to the company .
The facilities could do with improvements including bedrooms as they are old and dated
however this is irrelevant when considering the excellent specialist and person centred care our friend is provided day in and day out .

I visited my nephew in the home on his birthday & the staff had made such a fuss of him with balloons etc; They all came to wish him a Happy Birthday & it really brightened his day. Everytime I visit the staff are so kind & always have smiling faces plus they really care about their patients. The surroundings
are pleasant & nothing is too much trouble. It's peace of mind for my sister & I & we're very grateful.

Wilsmere House focuses on the dignity and health of its residents. The staff is very caring and involved, as is the management, The staff (from management, nurses, carers and maintenance staff) turnover is low and there is a lot of comraderie between them and they are always happy to help or answer
questions. Families and friends are equally dealt with dignity when they visit.

Staff are available, 24 hours a day, when I press a bell, staff attends me very quickly. Staff provides all support to me when needed. Menu is offered to me, chef is meeting with me and preparing the meal the way I like. Staff are kind, polite, and check on my wellbeing. They gave me my medication as
I will not be able to take it myself and keeping me informed about any changes in medication. Staff are helpful and dedicated, and if I ask, they will do everything.
When they do laundry, they bring it neat, clean and tidy and put in a hanger in a cupboard. I sincerely hope and wish other people who need the care to be in Wilsmere house as its best care. I recommended 10 out 10 for hospitality and care. The management is so good they listen to every query and make changes.

The care centre is efficiently managed. The staff are well trained, attentive and patient. The room is spacious enough, light and clean. My husband has established good rapport with the carers and has settled well from the first day at the centre. The nurses monitor the patient's condition well and
talk to the relatives quite often.

I spent two weeks at Wilsmere House rehabilitating after a partial knee replacement. I could not return home after surgery because I live alone and my house has a lot of stairs. During my stay at Wilsmere, everything was taken care of very professionally and I was treated with an enormous amount of
genuine kindness by everybody. I was therefore able to fully concentrate on my physio exercises and my recovery was much quicker than expected. My other knee replacement is due in several months and I am looking forward to another two-week stay at the Wilsmere.

My brother is receiving exceptional care in the Brookshill Unit. Every single member of staff I have met have been very caring and supportive. They made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we first came to look around. The first person I met was the manager who greeted us with a smile and made
us feel at ease immediately.
Nothing is too much trouble and they go above and beyond to help. My brother is terminally ill and it gives us great comfort knowing how well he is treated and cared for.
I can't fully put into words what a difference the care they give makes to him on a daily basis. The surroundings are lovely and feel like home.
It's always a lovely atmosphere when you come in and staff always seem happy to see you and have a chat. Couldn't ask for anything better.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.713)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.713) out of 10 for Barchester Wilsmere House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.713 for Barchester Wilsmere House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (221 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 293 Ratings = 4.713
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Wilsmere House Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 86 registered maximum number of service users is 17.2, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2023

Hello, my name is Jibin and I am the Head Chef here at Wilsmere House. It’s been more than 15 years since I embraced the art of flavour. I had the opportunity to work with great Chefs around the world and acquired many skills and knowledge. Some of the establishments I worked at are 5-star Hotels, Fine Dining Restaurants and Luxury Senior Living Homes. I’m a very inspirational, detail-oriented, Disciplined and Creative Chef. I always try to create a positive environment in and around my Kitchen. I pride myself on preparing high-quality food and what makes me very happy is to see our residents enjoy the dishes that my team and I create.

Our hospitality team are committed to providing seasonal home-cooked menus offering choice, nutrition and quality- including exciting menus to specific individual dietary needs and all appetites. We celebrate every one of our resident’s Birthday and my Kitchen team prepare homemade decorated cakes for their Birthday. The beautiful warm smile that our residents give when we present the Birthday cake is our greatest inspiration.

The food we produce is hugely important to our residents which is why it is absolutely imperative that we always get their feedback and continuously meet the needs and nutritional quota of every single resident who chooses to make Wilsmere House their home.

Raluca Rosculet

Job Title: Physiotherapist Joined: 2015

My name is Raluca and I’m a Senior Physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience, 10 of which I’ve proudly dedicated to Barchester. With a BSc and MSc in Physiotherapy, and a background in both hospital and care settings, I’ve found my true calling here—where care is personal, continuous, and deeply meaningful.
I’ve worked with a wide range of neurological conditions, including stroke, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, brain injury, etc. Personally, brain fascinates me—it challenges and inspires me every day! My passion for helping people regain independence is grounded not just in clinical expertise, but in compassion, teamwork, and connection.
I’m grateful to Barchester for supporting my growth, including through their Team Leadership Programme, which strengthened my ability to lead with empathy and purpose. Their values truly align with my own—placing people first, working together, and striving for excellence.
I live by the principle: ‘Love and do what you want.’ As a paradox, true love for what you do means acting with integrity, always doing what’s best without any expectations—not just for yourself, but for the people around you. In a team-driven environment like ours, that’s what makes the difference!
