Proudly part of the Barchester Healthcare group, boasting 30 years of care experience, Westgate House is a purpose-built care home located in the Forest Gate area of East London. They provide first-class 24-hour nursing care and expert residential and nursing care for people with dementia, as well as care for those with physical disabilities.

A team of highly-qualified and attentive staff focus on the individual needs of residents with a tailored care plan for each person. Dedication can be seen across the board - in their cooking, hospitality and in organising activities for residents. Facilities such as hairdressing, chiropody, dentist, opticians and physiotherapy are available.

My mum's been in Westgate for a month now, and the staff have been very friendly and extremely good - informing us of any concerns and what Mum likes, etc. They let us know when they feel concerned about anything, i.e. not taking meds or eating. One thing I do wish is they allow Mum to find her feet,
I know she's unstable, and they have to assure her safety, but it's only since taken into the hospital she's been unsteady - she needs to build her muscles up again.

My nan has been in this home for almost two years and I cannot fault her care. She always seems happy and well kept when I see her. New Covid restrictions are over I can take my children into the home and staff are always very welcoming.

My cousin came for four weeks of respite care following an initial visit to assess the facility. We have found all of the staff, from the managers, nursing staff, carers, housekeeping staff, activity organiser and reception team friendly, helpful and caring. They quickly established a rapport with us
and my cousin. We feel she has benefited from her stay and would like to thank everyone involved.

Seen lots of improvements in decoration inside of the building. In regards to my grandmother, I have seen many improvements, and we are happy. Still missing items, Bible, gold earrings but otherwise a big improvement on treatment from the pandemic, she now looks like she is being looked after. Food,
not 100% satisfied, still not seeing Caribbean food as promised? Pizza and beans are not good, hard base for someone with hardly any teeth, which was hard seeing her chew her food.

Barchester Westgate is a very good home with excellent staff and management. Nothing is too much for them and they take good care of my partner. The staff are all friendly and helpful. If we had any issues I would feel confident to raise them with staff and management. I am very happy with the care

All staff have been amazing including the night staff they go the extra mile to ensure my mum is comfortable as well as myself.
The relationship I have with my mum's carers they both always relay all information to me regarding my mum and gives me the ability to have trust in them whenever I am unable
to visit on a daily basis.
All the staff go above and beyond to give me support and they always make sure that your well-being is a priority if you are in their presence, especially during difficult times.

I have found my aunt to be well cared for. She is always clean and tidy and comfortable.

Stayed here for a three-week respite and overall standards were good and a few of the care staff that I interacted with on first floor were excellent.
Everybody was friendly and welcoming, including management, receptionists, domestic team, maintenance and kitchen staff.

Lovely care home! Mum has been welcomed like one of the family. She is always relaxed and happy when I see her or talk to her on the phone. Staff are all very kind and helpful. The home is always clean and smells nice, more like a hotel! Very happy with everything so far!

Currently under Covid-19 lockdown so difficult to assess all the services, however, it has been a mixture of fantastic service in terms of video calls and better communication of staff and family. However, there has also been vital things that have gone wrong too i.e leaving him in bed and an unexplained

I have been working at Westgate House since August 2021 and I love this team and the residents. With over twenty-five years of chef experience, I know how to make the residents happy at every meal time. Whilst I enjoy introducing residents to some of my Caribbean food, it is also important that I provide a wide range of traditional English dishes too - it wouldn't be Friday without Fish 'N' Chips!
