My mother was in the care home from 8th December until she passed away on the 4th January 2018, only here a short period of time. From the moment she arrived until she passed away, she was treated with respect, kindness, dignity by everyone who worked within the home. Nothing was too much, from being looked after at home by carers to coming to this care home. The time she was there we saw a change in her. She was happy, relaxed and in her own words, "this is home now".

I cannot thank the staff enough for making my mums last days of her life comfortable and as happy as she can be.

From the moment I first visited Annandale Lodge when myself and my brother were looking for a home for my Dad, I was impressed with its homely feel and the friendly atmosphere. The staff and manager made us welcome from the start and this continued for the two years my Dad was a resident.
The manager and staff were always approachable and listened to any of our concerns. My Dad also felt listened to and he was able to form relationships with both staff and residents. My Dad was well cared for, he was always well turned out and smart, things which were important to him.

His room and the communal rooms were always clean and tidy. They are always thinking of new ways to keep the residents stimulated and entertained, but there is no pressure to take part. There is a lovely garden which my father enjoyed sitting in during the summer.

My relative - a frail elderly lady who was terminally ill - spent two or three months in Annandale Lodge. The manager and staff were very caring and always ready to help. They were also supportive of visiting relatives and kept us constantly updated on the progress of resident, who could not have been in better hands.

Overall Experience
Having reviewed many care homes around Bedford, we felt Annandale Lodge would provide the best care for my wife's mother during a very difficult time.
From day 1 we have found the home to be spotlessly clean and pleasantly decorated, the staff to be friendly, efficient, courteous and respectful, and we have been given the impression that the home, as well as it's owners, is very well managed.
My wife and I don't live in England, so we are very reliant on the services of the home. In our experience, we can say that the care, compassion and expertise demonstrated has been exemplary.
Annandale Lodge is also very welcoming to guests, tea and coffee is always offered - sometimes lunch too! The food appears to be very good and varied, with variations always available.

To everyone involved at Annandale Lodge - a huge thank you and God bless you all.

I have visited my sister several times in the past year and have never ceased to wonder what a lovely home Annandale Lodge is. At all times, the staff are really caring and cheerful. The place is spotlessly clean and is an absolute credit to all there.

I found the staff professional and caring. My father-in-law had good mental capacity but was physically challenged. The staff made him feel happy and wanted. I could not ask for more.

My mother spent a short period of time at Annandale Lodge and passed away there very peacefully. Any negative preconceptions about nursing homes proved completely unfounded. All of the staff at Annandale were warm, patient and skilled, and ensured that her needs were anticipated. Although her time there was short, staff managed to build relationships with mum and us, her relatives. As her family, our wishes were listened to and responded to, and we were in no doubt she was in the best place at the end of her life. The manager ensures that high standards are kept to and quickly developed a rapport with mum, myself and my sister - would definitely recommend.

My husband came to Annandale Lodge Care Home on May 15th 2017 and is a very poorly man. The manager, nurses, carers and staff are doing a wonderful job looking after him.

They are kind, caring and I'm so pleased he is in this home. I have no worried at all. I can go anytime to see him. It's just like a home from home.

My dad has only recently arrived at Annadale Lodge Care Home under difficult circumstances. All staff members at every level have been extremely welcoming and sensitive in their support of dad and of us as family members. Dad already reports that he is happy and wonderfully cared for. He is also enjoying the meals which he describes as super.

Thank you to the manager and all her staff for easing us all along this unfamiliar path and period of transition.
