The home is very nice, very clean and the staff are friendly, Mum is always up, dressed and happy. She is/I'm happy with the care she is getting and I'm always updated on any changes.

Overall Mum seems happy, and I can see her at any time.

I really wasn't looking forward to Mum going into a care home, however, the relief I have experienced, knowing that she is now safe, happy and cared for on a daily basis has been priceless. It's far less demanding in our time and a lot less stressful, allowing me to actually enjoy the time I spend with her rather than worrying about her care needs. Everyone here is incredibly helpful, friendly, professional and personable, helping Mum 'feel at home' since day one.

My mum is very well cared for. She could not be in better hands. She has dementia and can occasionally become very grumpy but the care staff are not at all bothered by her moods and are only concerned about her well-being.

During the few weeks my husband has been a resident, he has been extremely well cared for, even more so since his ability to do things independently has declined. All the staff are extremely diligent and cheerfully caring. I would recommend this particular care home to anyone.

My husband was a resident at Beaumont Park Nursing and Residential Home from 29th May to 11th July when he died. The care from day one was excellent, we were impressed with all aspects of his care. The room was lovely and my husband enjoyed being taken to the garden in a wheelchair by staff. He wasn't the easiest of patients as his stubborn streak made it difficult for his carers. They handled him so well and built good relationships with him. His family were also treated with care and felt very supported at a difficult time. A huge thank you to all the staff.

Dad has settled in very well, the staff, all staff, are kind and considerate. Dad is always smart and bathed and he has regular visits from GP's, opticians, barber and foot clinics. His room and ensuite is kept clean and tidy. He has his own artwork on the walls and lots of family photos. Dad participates in the weekly activities, they seem great ranging from arts and crafts to singing and playing games. Whenever I visit a warm welcome is there.

Suggest CQC visit entirely unannounced to view on the nursing floor, rows of rooms without any human contact for long periods. A resident asked to get up but was refused and told she was 'on end of life care'. Broken bed table, extremely uncomfortable mattress, bed like a padded cell, food mushed carrot and potatoes, only protein at all was baked beans. The urine bag had not emptied for days and inadequate drying left a sore axillary area, an altogether dreadful experience.

Very poor quality of care and nursing. What staff there are just wander around as if they have all the time in the world, despite alarms sounding or residents calling. The food can hardly be deemed appetising or nutritious. A catalogue of errors during my mum's respite stay, including not being showered, not being given medication, wound dressing not done. When it was finally redressed one lovely nurse did a great job, the next time the bandage wasn't even taped so it all came unravelled.

Overall Experience
This "Care" home is terrible! From the minute my uncle arrived at Beaumont Park we realised it was the worst decision we made to put him in there. The staff are undertrained, they don't treat the patients humanely and it is very short-staffed.
My uncle was not cleaned properly and when they did wash him it was after lunch. The plates and utensils from lunch were still in his room 3-4 hours after he had eaten. It took them 2 weeks to fix the guard rail on his bed and it was only fixed after I spoke with social services and they assisted with the issue. Multiple times when we visited he had no water even though he had been asking for it.

On the positive side, some of the staff are very good but they are overworked and do long shifts. The facilities are good but only one of the common areas seems to be used.

Reply from Sharon Lamb, Home Manager at Beaumont Park Care Home

Although my wife was only in the home for a week before passing, I found the care for her was excellent. The staff were brilliant and the room was well kept and the food was 100% better than hospital food. Overall I could not fault the home and staff.

My dad has minor nursing requirements currently but he is very elderly and frail and recently recovering from covid. Beaumont have been fantastic with his care. He has now made the decision to become a resident, and both he and the family are delighted with his decision.
