Having being taken to Taymer from hospital on the 3rd December 2019 for 10 days re-hab. I found everything quite satisfactory. Attention from all the staff was excellent, the food great and cooked beautifully. Having shared a room with another lady for part of the time I found a pleasant experience
she was so nice and never complained.

Following our relative passing away after 2 years living at Taymer, I cannot praise the facility enough. Our relative was very happy during his time there.
I have experience professionally dealing with supporting such institutions and this is simply "the best". Wonderful staff and excellent management.

My elderly and frail 96-year-old mother recently had the pleasure of being cared for by the amazing professional staff at Taymer Nursing Home. She was treated with dignity and respect at all times and was able to return to her own home after a respite stay with physio and rehabilitation at Taymer.
From
commencement of finding a bed for my mother at Taymer, right through to discharge, each and every member of staff were kind and caring. It was a delight to visit her in such a wonderful place and to know she was safe.

I have experienced a few care homes during the last few years and I have to say this is by far the nicest place to make your retirement needs matter. It is warm, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. My mother-in-law's needs have been more than catered for by happy, friendly staff.
Even the manager is 'hands-on' - never known that before. Food is excellent!

My father has been a resident at Taymer Nursing Home for over 3 years. I reviewed several homes prior to his residency, but only Taymer was suitable in my view. The place was clean, tidy, bright and had apparently caring staff. Very importantly it smelt clean too - something other homes did not! Since
he moved in, the staff have always been caring and attended to his needs. In fact, had he not moved there I very much doubt whether he would still be alive and well. The food is also carefully prepared and much of it homemade.

I can't tell you what a relief it was when we entered through the doors of Taymer Nursing Home. We had a very worried and frightened mother and from the first warm welcome, I knew she was going to be absolutely fine. She soon settled with caring and friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble, talking
to both family as well as my mother. Her mental well-being, as well as her health, is improving daily.

My mother has flourished since coming to Taymer Nursing Home in April. She is treated with great kindness, dignity and respect. I and my family are extremely pleased with all aspects of her care and safety. Every member of staff do their utmost to make sure the residents are not only well cared for,
but happy.

A year ago my husband and I had to make a decision regarding the care needs of a dear friend who was no longer able to look after herself, and whom we had become responsible for. Looking back, we have absolutely no regrets in placing her in Taymer Nursing Home. She settled in immediately, and with the
wonderful care she receives, has gone from strength to strength. Initially, when she first arrived, she was very weak and undernourished, but with special attention given to her diet, she is now a good weight and there is no longer a fear of her choking. Prior to her becoming a resident at Taymer she had become withdrawn and seemingly depressed, this is no longer the case. With the love and stimulation, she is receiving from the staff, she is always smiling and her memory has greatly improved. She loves to take part in the activities that are provided, it is an absolute joy to see her so content as she approaches her 85th birthday!

My father, over the last 23 months, is most happy with the caring and dedicated staff and matron at Taymer Nursing Home. He has said often he would not like to be anywhere else. My father enjoys the variety of the good quality, home-cooked meals by the good-humoured chef. Overall we are so pleased that
our father is contented and happy.

I was very apprehensive of what my stay in the re-hab department of this care home was going to be like, having never experienced anything like this before. I have to say now I don't know what I was worrying about. Every member of staff, from management to housekeeping, were so nice and friendly and
above all very professional. As for the frontline carers and nursing staff, they were outstanding. They made you feel cared for, however minor your request may have been.

My aunt has spent the last six weeks having rehabilitation at Taymer following several weeks in hospital after suffering a major fall in her home. During her stay, the staff have helped her in a firm, compassionate manner on the pathway to improved mobility. The management and support staff have always
been helpful to the family, especially in helping them when they were struggling to see a practical way forwards after the rehabilitation process. The home has demonstrated what can be achieved by a well-motivated team that appears to be enjoying the task of caring for vulnerable older members of society.

The matron and staff always make us feel very welcome when we visit my mother virtually every day.
Nothing has ever been too much trouble and they have, in part, helped our family through a very stressful time in our lives. The nursing care is absolutely wonderful and my mother is now able to welcome
visitors to what has, essentially, become her home over the past 18 months.

Staff are very friendly and kind. Good home cooked food.

Bed linen left a little to be desired, but my husband was treated and cared for well and felt as if he was safe. I too felt he was safe, secure and treated with respect and dignity. The activity programme was varied each day.

I came here on a hunt for a non-weight baring bed from hospital. The treatment I received on arrival was fantastic. Everyone was kind and helpful. I was here for 109 days and the treatment I received was fantastic.
The food has been great and I've had lots of cups of tea. I could not think of a better

My father has now been a permanent resident for almost two years. He is generally well looked after and has formed a bond with several members of staff. As visitors, we are always made to feel welcome by staff.
Because he is so well looked after, we fell reassured that he is in capable hands.
Staff
do a great job in sometimes difficult circumstances. Thank you to you all.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.845)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.845) out of 10 for Taymer Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.845 for Taymer Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (409 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 477 Ratings = 4.845
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Taymer Nursing Home is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
