My stay followed an operation which limited my mobility. The room gave me easy access to facilities. All of the staff were friendly and looked after me well so I would like to say thank you to them all.
Hello and thank you for taking the time to leave the staff at Bayford House such a lovely review. We are thrilled that the home and care of the staff helped you after your operation. We will pass on your thanks to the home and wish you well.
My husband has settled in well and has a good interaction with the staff. The try and engage with him which isn't always easy. I know the food is excellent and he enjoys his meals. However, in view of his medical condition, he should be encouraged to drink more water so that he doesn't become dehydrated as this can cause him to become confused.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are glad to hear you are overall pleased with the care that our staff provide your husband. We will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their services and thank you for choosing Bayford House care home.
One concern is around the management of transitioning new groups or individual carers that come in. If a resident's bed is made or set up in a certain way or a chair requires support and a certain set-up for access, new staff do not always get properly trained on each individual room and it means the resident can have a few weeks of Kelly very unsettled with things not in place, e.g. cushions missing, not enough sheets, table out of reach - maybe a list in each room of how things should be set would help, particularly as not all residents can articulate how they have things done if their speech is impaired.
For medical assistance and support, the nurse and care team do an amazing job in really difficult times where accessing doctors, district nurses and other specialist nurses is not easy.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback and we will certainly pass your comments on to the manager, as our resident's health and well-being are an absolute priority and we would like to make sure this matter is resolved. Could you please contact our feedback team by emailing or calling so we can discuss this further.

After visiting Bayford House Care Home, I was so impressed with what I saw and heard, it was just what I needed for some respite care and it was amazing. Well over and above my expectations. The staff and management were kind, courteous, always smiling and willing to help. There was never a dull moment for art and crafts, quizzes, walks in the lovely gardens, chats with friendly residents and much more. When I arrived for 2 weeks R and R I was exhausted, when I left I was revitalised! Thanks to everyone at Bayford.

Everything was good other than the lunches which were often poorly cooked and unimaginative and served in a very noisy atmosphere.

My mother moved into Newdale Court last year, following several falls at her home. Having led an independent life up until this point, we all found it hard to adjust to life in a care home environment. During this time, the staff could not have been more supportive and did everything they could to help Mum settle. She is now settled and in much better health. The staff are outstanding in the care that they give; their warmth and compassion are evident, and they have all taken the time to get to know Mum and understand her needs as an individual. The home is always friendly and welcoming, and staff work hard to provide a stimulating environment - from dressing up to decorating communal areas - there is always something going on. The manager and the staff are always around to answer any questions, and the home has a very safe and supportive atmosphere. I believe my mum is getting excellent care and would have no hesitation in recommending Bayford House.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are glad that everyone helped support you both through this period of readjustment and that your Mum's health is now improving in our care. Thank you again for your recommendation.
Very welcoming and very approachable staff, very caring and lovely rooms and facilities. Provide an excellent service. Wonderful grounds around the building, free of litter and very well-kept gardens with scenic views from the window with lots of natural wildlife.

Starting with a vintage acrobatic act that had an amusing comical side to it, which all the residents enjoyed, and afterwards, they had a tea party.
What a pleasure to be able to attend.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed our Jubilee celebrations and the acts that attended. Thank you for helping us celebrate.
and understanding.

Meet the Team (4)

I started as a care assistant in Dec 2014. Quickly progressed to a senior carer then senior carer with medication responsibilities. Then unit manager in 2017. Lastly, I applied for the home managers position.
I have always since the age of 19 worked in the care sector. I spent a lot of time working for social services in Essex and North Yorkshire and I have also worked as a sheltered housing officer.
I am married with 2 children. I live locally to the home.My husband and I enjoy fishing and holidays in Cuba. I enjoy working in care as i love to see the smiles that good care puts on the residents faces!

I am Deputy Manager at Bayford House. I have been with Bupa for fourteen years. I am a Registered Nurse from India. I moved to a Middle East hospital where I was a Specialist Nurse in Intensive Care Unit (Team Leader) prior to moving to the UK. I am married with three little daughters.
I am enthusiastic, compassionate nursing professional with over twenty-one years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
I always ensure that we provide excellent care and support for residents and their families during the time they spend here at Bayford House with us.

People often say that I should have retired by now but I class this as my second home and love all my residents.
When I lost my husband, everybody here was so supportive. My favourite time of year is Christmas when I put up all the decorations in the home, which the residents and families enjoy.
If I can go home at night and know I have made one of my residents smile that is a great feeling.

I am originally from Greater Manchester where I worked for Dairy Crest since leaving school until I joined Bupa in June 2008. Firstly as an administrator at The Donnington, where I worked for four years until I had the opportunity to move to Thatcham Court, which is a larger home, in June 2012, this presented additional scope for broadening my experience.
I embraced the challenge of working in a new care home environment, as Thatcham Court is a dementia home, and this presented new aspects to the job and also included a wider range of duties. After working in a dementia home for nine months I felt I would prefer to focus my skills in a non-dementia home, which is when I came to Bayford House in May 2013.
