Nestled in the leafy village of Stockcross, Bayford House offers personalised care packages which include residential, respite, nursing, palliative and Parkinson’s care. The home also has independent living suites for those in need of extra support or recovering from surgery.

Originally a private residence, Bayford House is set within large landscaped gardens and has been extensively modernised and refurbished to provide a high standard of accommodation and care. High ceilings and period features can be enjoyed throughout the home and residents can feel relaxed and comfortable in the spacious communal rooms and lounge areas. Most bedrooms have en-suite facilities and all are tastefully furnished and decorated.

Residents can stay for two weeks, a month or longer– however long residents or loved ones needs support. They’ll get to relax and meet new friends, giving families complete peace of mind. The home has a dedicated respite room that can be booked up to three months in advance, staff are happy to accept last-minute requests too.

The independent living suites are spacious bedrooms with lounge areas, situated within Newdale Court, a part of the home that supports assisted living. There is an on-site salon, large lounge and cinema room, as well as a dining room complete with hostess service.

Individual dietary preferences form the basis of the in-house chef’s daily menu, with homemade meals and lighter alternatives available.

Arts and crafts and reminiscence sessions are examples of the many activities available for residents, as are gentle gardening and sing-a-longs. Regular church services and a visit from a mobile library are also available.

Sadly mum now has dementia as well as being bedridden. I am very pleased with the way the staff treat her. They are very caring and preserve her dignity. Little things like putting her teddy close to her. Always making sure she has a nice top on, especially at Christmas extra thought went into her outfit.

My father became a resident at Newdale Court at Bayford House Care Home after a prolonged period of time in hospital, following a heart attack and a nasty fall. Although aged 91, he is very independent and mentally very alert. He required a period of convalescence to regain his confidence and the staff
at Bayford House have provided a wonderful environment for this to be successful. The staff are totally dedicated to the well-being of all residents at Newdale Court and provided a very stimulating environment for recovery. He has been treated with the utmost dignity and respect and his every need considered. The medical attention he has received has been beyond my expectations. The rooms are large and provide a living and bedroom space which enables residents to entertain family and friends privately. This was essential for us. Although the cost of the care is expensive, he has received 5 star service. The standard of some of the meals can vary and this is something Bupa need to address.

My father is extremely happy and contented as a resident in Bayford House. His personal care is very good, he always looks so clean. He has to have pureed good with his condition, and this is always provided, he really enjoys his nutritious meals. I always look forward to visiting my father in the home
as it creates a caring, friendly atmosphere. The staff are very thorough, and attentive to dad. I know that when my visit with dad is over, he will be left in the best of care, which I appreciate.

Mother-in-law said there were no activities organised like card games, bingo or dominoes etc. but this did not spoil her stay with you.

I started as a care assistant in Dec 2014. Quickly progressed to a senior carer then senior carer with medication responsibilities. Then unit manager in 2017. Lastly, I applied for the home managers position.


I have always since the age of 19 worked in the care sector. I spent a lot of time working for social services in Essex and North Yorkshire and I have also worked as a sheltered housing officer.


I am married with 2 children. I live locally to the home.
My husband and I enjoy fishing and holidays in Cuba. I enjoy working in care as i love to see the smiles that good care puts on the residents faces!

I am Deputy Manager at Bayford House. I have been with Bupa for fourteen years. I am a Registered Nurse from India. I moved to a Middle East hospital where I was a Specialist Nurse in Intensive Care Unit (Team Leader) prior to moving to the UK. I am married with three little daughters.


I am enthusiastic, compassionate nursing professional with over twenty-one years of experience as a Registered Nurse.


I always ensure that we provide excellent care and support for residents and their families during the time they spend here at Bayford House with us.

I have been at Bayford House/Newdale Court for twenty five years. I am Newdale’s Activity Coordinator and I have three children; two boys and one girl and seven grandchildren - I even bring them in to work sometimes as they love to talk to the residents.

People often say that I should have retired by now but I class this as my second home and love all my residents.


When I lost my husband, everybody here was so supportive. My favourite time of year is Christmas when I put up all the decorations in the home, which the residents and families enjoy.


If I can go home at night and know I have made one of my residents smile that is a great feeling.

I am originally from Greater Manchester where I worked for Dairy Crest since leaving school until I joined Bupa in June 2008. Firstly as an administrator at The Donnington, where I worked for four years until I had the opportunity to move to Thatcham Court, which is a larger home, in June 2012, this presented additional scope for broadening my experience.


I embraced the challenge of working in a new care home environment, as Thatcham Court is a dementia home, and this presented new aspects to the job and also included a wider range of duties. After working in a dementia home for nine months I felt I would prefer to focus my skills in a non-dementia home, which is when I came to Bayford House in May 2013.
