My husband was a resident at Larchfield House for one week in February. We would like to thank all the staff who cared for him during his stay. They treated him with great dignity and respect and encouraged him to join in the amazing array of purposeful activities provided by the activities team. He
enjoyed talking to the staff about his many years working in the NHS.

Dad was 'at home' on Cherwell Community for 5 1/2 years until he passed away earlier this month. When my sister and I chose Larchfield we instinctively knew how wonderful the home would be. Everybody was so friendly and welcoming on our initial visit and this continued. We have been overwhelmed by the
kindness, care and compassion everyone has shown. During his final few weeks, the support I received from everyone on Cherwell was outstanding. I really felt like we were all part of a family taking care of Dad. Special thanks to multiple members of staff for making Dad's final few weeks as pleasant and comfortable as possible. I cannot recommend Larchfield highly enough.

My mother was a resident for 11 months and it was a great comfort to me that she was well looked after and safe. The online portal was wonderful to be able to see photos of activities she got involved in. The activities team deserve a special mention.

I will start by saying nobody wants to have their loved one live in a nursing home, but sometimes, for whatever reason, you have to make the decision to do just that. From the very first day, we felt Mum was being well cared for and her needs were being met. All of the staff were extremely friendly
and really helped us to navigate this new normal. Each day I was greeted by name, and someone usually had a story to tell me about Mum; they knew she liked to have her toy dog to cuddle and keep her calm, what programmes she liked to watch on the television, how sometimes a walk round in her wheelchair would distract her when she became agitated. The portal was brilliant, letting me know, about food eaten, activities etc. Mum was encouraged to join in with the many activities provided to promote her well-being, and pictures were put on her portal when she did, which was great. When Mum left for the last time, many of the staff came to say goodbye; we felt this showed care and compassion.

Mum passed in December while at Larchfield. I cannot thank the staff for the care and love they showed both my mum and our family before and after she passed. The quality of nursing and support staff is outstanding, and I will be forever grateful to them all for looking after my mum.

Congratulations to the new wellbeing manager and all activity staff for organising great events in Larchfield. Decorations and entertainment are brilliant especially the Memory Cafe, it was really lovely. I am also pleased with my husband’s birthday celebration that they organised. They always made
extra effort just to make it special. Care staff are also doing a great job by looking after him. Staff are friendly and supportive. I will definitely recommend Larchfield. Great activities and brilliant staff. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Larchfield House Care Home is a lovely home full of very caring staff who do an excellent job. The facilities are of a very high standard, cheerful decor and spotlessly clean, good meals. Communication with relatives is timely and accurate and I found the relatives portal a very easy way to feel part
of your relative's daily life. The caring attitude is extended to visiting relatives by making them feel part of the extended family vibe within the unit. The many activities provided are varied and interesting with staff encouraging and supporting the residents to join in.
The staff are very competent at handling the advances of Alzheimer's and helped me understand better the different stages of the disease.
If your relative is lucky enough to secure a place at Larchfield House, you can rest assured their care will be the very best.
I have no hesitation in recommending this home for your peace of mind.

Written as the daughter of my father who received dementia care. The staff were very professional and caring in their dealings with my father. I was really impressed by their approach. Sadly my father passed away at the home. However, during his short stay, the staff were very good in their approach

My dad has been a resident at Larchfield House for 2.5 years. He is really happy there and enjoys the variety of activities that are put on each day. The staff are truly amazing and have such care and compassion for my dad and every single resident. They treat each resident as an individual, take note
of all their wants and needs and ensure they are met. The activities team go a long way to entertain residents with a variety of things to do and regularly has events that families can join in with such as BBQs and parties. Every member of staff I have had contact with is polite, friendly and well-presented. The care home itself is always clean and well presented too. Everyone there goes the extra mile and I really can not fault it.

Very good standard overall. My mother has all her needs met by a caring team in her unit. She's always clean. It is welcoming no matter how much is going on. The staff are caring and professional.
It's become a home from home in some ways and they care about me too.
I think that it was the right
decision to have Mum there. I can go in when I like.
The staff are understanding of some issues in my family and this is very kind because they don't have to.
The nurse in charge is very professional and so are the duty nurses.

Written as the mother of my daughter receiving respite care.
I was very impressed by the care provided for my daughter. Staff were keen to understand and manage her needs. This approach worked well and she settled without great anxiety.
Equally, all of the staff were welcoming and helpful to me on
my frequent visits.
Having had previous experience with respite care at a different home, this stay was refreshing and I feel positive about using Larchfield House again.
Re: Rating food and drink below in categories, I cannot assess as my daughter is peg-fed.

The team provided the most amazing 100th birthday party event for my husband's aunt. From the dressing of the room with balloons etc, the framing of the birthday card from Our King and Queen, the fabulous food including a splendid birthday cake to the production of a photographic video of the event
was wonderful. And shall always be remembered- thank you.

We had my mother moved to Larchfield House to be close to family. The home is clean and nicely decorated but its biggest strength is its staff. My mother can be difficult but she is always met with kindness and understanding. She likes all the staff and always greets them with a big smile.
The activities
staff think of things that Mum understands and are relevant to her, i.e flower arranging. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday and, along with my sister, the activities leader and his team organised a party for Mum which included wonderful decorations, including a large balloon arch in the party room and a lavish cake in the shape of 100. The activities manager had even put together a presentation of people and events important to Mum during her life and background music of Mum’s favourite tunes.
Everyone at Mum’s party - many of whom have had loved ones in care homes - gave compliments about the helpfulness and kindness of all staff and the calm and homely atmosphere.

Larchfield has always been a very happy home for my sister-in-law. She lived there for just over 6 years! We saw the care home grow and they always wanted the best for the residences. They also always went over and above to help us and her! Friendly, caring staff always answered any questions we had.
Kept us informed if any problems with my sister-in-law. Always very clean and all staff do an amazing job! All staff put your mind at rest and work really hard to make the residents feel like they are home! Thank you Larchfield would recommend Larchfield to everyone.

I would like to tell you about a day my family and I spent with our mum/nanny yesterday (June 4th 2023). I asked if we could have a family get-together in the garden with some refreshments. It was agreed that we could do this. We were very pleasantly surprised and impressed with the layout of the tables
and the refreshments. Totally unexpected! The staff who helped us have a great afternoon were brilliant. So extremely helpful. We just had to call them if we required any top-ups.
We were even allowed to take a couple of well-behaved dogs in with us, one of which was my mum's dog when she was living at home and is now being cared for by my brother.


Mum was overwhelmed by us all being there and she thoroughly enjoyed herself and she didn't go to sleep! A beautiful day had by all, sunshine, refreshments and great staff! Thank you so very much from all my mum's family.

My son has been in Larchfield House Care Home for the last sixteen months and has been receiving excellent care from the various members of staff on the unit who have made the effort to build a rapport with him. After a recent five-week stay in hospital with pneumonia, staff welcomed him back and he
has made progress with his mobility, especially with walking. This is due to the "in-house" physiotherapist dedicated to getting him back on his feet - hospital discharge notes stated "bedbound"!

George is a qualified nurse who began his career with the Ambulance Service in 2005. He moved to the UK in 2008 and started as an NHS Nurse. Over the years, George has accumulated significant experience in various roles, including Prison Charge Nurse, District Nurse, Clinical Service Manager, Home Manager, Senior Operations Manager, Troubleshooter, and Interim Home Manager. His career also includes positions in higher education as an Academic Director and, most recently, as a Home Manager at Thames Hospice. George’s current hobby is riding motorcycles with his friends and contributing to the community by fundraising for charities in the UK.

Myra Mandapat

Myra currently serves as our Clinical Compliance Manager. She holds a pivotal position in maintaining elevated standards while also offering training in Dementia Care to recently onboarded Care Assistants. Having moved from the Philippines in 2010, she has progressed from a Care Assistant to a Senior Carer before advancing to the role of Team Leader.
