Woodbury House Care Home cares for residents, some of whom may have sensitive care needs, such as memory loss and dementia.

The home provides residential, nursing, dementia, respite, and palliative care, and will work with residents to develop a personalised care plan that will include everything from hobbies, exercise and dietary preferences, taking into account any health issues. This will determine the level and type of care individuals receive. This can vary from minimal residential care to full support.

Located in a scenic area of Berkshire, Woodbury House is a comfortable and friendly service in which to spend a retirement, with mature gardens and its own summer house. A team of versatile care workers also extend their expertise to respite care in order to assist members of the local community who are full-time carers themselves.

Trained chefs prepare a varied daily menu to give a choice of tasty, nutritious meals.

The recreation and activities team oversee everything from pet therapy and reading club, to music exercises and knitting.

Key calendar events are always made extra special at the home, because they enjoy any excuse for a party. The activities co-ordinator works with residents and relatives to make sure there is something for everyone.

What a wonderful place. Woodbury House has been and continues to be, brilliant. Grandma is getting the best care from highly skilled and deeply compassionate staff and I cannot be more grateful. Their Memory Unit is superb in its quality of care, its presentation (it's gorgeously fitted out - light
and airy!) and its staff, with such an emphasis on letting the dementia patient live their own way without being forced into things they don't want to do. My grandma has the choice of when to get up, what she wants to eat, and all of the freedoms she would have at home - they care so much about preserving the patient's preferences, which is so important when your loved one has dementia. It's like one big family. The icing on the top of the cake? Grandma, quite unprompted and spontaneously, said to me, "I'm happy!" I can rest easily, safe in the knowledge she is getting the care and attention she needs. I look forward to every visit and I always wish I can stay longer. Give them a medal.

Since my husband moved to Woodbury he seems more at ease and content and I did comment that during a telephone call I had with him during a covid lockdown, it was the first time he had laughed and joked for a long time.
He always looks well-groomed, has access to more garden space which is helpful
as he loved walking and the outdoors
The team appear very attentive, always willing to help and answer any questions the family may have regarding his welfare and are giving him the best quality of life possible due to his advancing dementia.
Unfortunately due to covid, access to the home has been limited, which I appreciate, so any comments on the premises as a whole and normal working practices are limited to what I have seen on few occasions I am able to visit, and from pictures, the team provided regarding rooms etc.

As a visitor, I have always felt welcome and comfortable at Woodbury House and take great comfort that the residents are happy and well looked after. The staff, at all levels, are warm friendly and welcoming whilst equally being professional in their care and wellbeing of their residents. I have observed
mealtimes, activities and day to day life whilst visiting and the level of care is always consistent and the environment is one I was happy to spend whilst visiting. The staff do a great job!

From the moment Mum became a resident of Woodbury Care Home my brother and I knew we'd made the right choice. Mum was very disorientated when she arrived but every member of staff from the lovely manager herself to each and every care-worker welcomed her with genuine warmth and kindness which moved
and reassured all of us. Huge efforts were made to make Mum feel as 'at home' as possible, in what was a seismic and difficult move for her out of the family home she'd been in for 45 years. She gradually came to like and trust those who cared for her, not an easy process for Mum, because their patience, attention to detail, kindness and warmth made her feel cherished and appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them and Mum quickly established deep & meaningful relationships with many of the staff. Staff turnover seems low, a crucial factor for any Care Home where it is the relationships that develop between the residents and the staff which are of the utmost importance. Thank you Woodbury.

We've been so pleased with our selection of Woodbury House as the new home for my aunt, who has dementia. The staff there have gone to every effort to ensure that she feels safe and settled since she moved in in Jan, and we are extremely impressed with how they have reacted during the lockdown, going
to extraordinary lengths to keep the residents' spirits up with lots of nutritious meals and sweet treats, and a regular schedule of engaging activities.
The team are extremely imaginative when preparing events and entertainments, for example, the time and effort put into the VE Day Celebrations was amazing. The smiling faces in the posts that they regularly put on Facebook is clear evidence of how well they know their residents and what makes them happy.
The effort they put into my aunt's birthday recently was just wonderful, suggesting that we record a video that they could play for her and baking her a beautiful cake, and videoing her special moments.
An outstanding home for all.

I felt that this care home has dealt very well with the Covid-19 outbreak minimising the number of residents that caught it very well. I do feel that Woodbury House provides better care for its residents than many other care homes do.

It will be easier to tell what I don't like. I enjoy all activities, a lot of variants for me. Team members are good, always fighting for better, for us. They are very good. I feel safe in here, I really do.

Excellent care home for my Grandmother who is 93 and has vascular dementia. She has been there since end November 2019 and the care she has received has been second to none. She is always happy and smiling with the carers, she eats very well, she has a lovely bedroom and the lounge areas are spacious
and always kept spotlessly clean. She has 3 amazing meals each day in a lovely dining room as well as tea, cake snacks during the day. There are regular activities going on at the home, from concerts to visits from school children and local pets. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff are going above and beyond to ensure the safety and care of residents and protecting them from the virus. They have welcomed individual video calls and phone calls and have set up a social media page with regular updates on residents activities. I would recommend this care home as a wonderful place for any individual in need of full-time care. Lovely place!

I would highly recommend Woodbury House. The short time my father-in-law spent here before he passed away was amazing. The care and attention was second to none. Every single carer, nurse, cleaner, maintenance were lovely, I'm going to miss them all.

Our second experience of a care home, and our first experience of a nursing care home. We just became more impressed with each visit. Our only regret is that Dad did not come to Woodbury House in the first place instead of starting at a residential care home and then having to move when they could no
longer cater for his needs.

My mother was a resident at Woodbury House from July 2018 until December 2019 when she sadly passed away. At all times she was cared for with the utmost compassion and dignity by all of the management and staff. Myself and my family would like to thank all of those who cared for Mum for the support
given to her and to us during those 18 months.

My mother was lucky enough to get a room at Woodbury House after a spell in hospital, which she did not enjoy. She has Alzheimer's, and having cared for he myself for as long as I could, I know how difficult it is to care such residents. The care she receives from the staff is amazing, they are all
very patient and kind. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2023

Jade Allwood is the Registered Manager for Woodbury House and has been with Woodbury since March 2023. Jade has been a registered manager in other homes for 5+ years and has a wealth of knowledge.


Jade is very passionate about ensuring there is a high standard of care and service in the home. She is very proud of the home since she joined and is excited for the future of the home as well.


Outside of work, Jade enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and reading.


In the past, Jade has been an air cadet and has even learned to fly a plane. This is one of Jade’s greatest achievements, alongside her two children.
