I've just attended a staff and resident & family event to say farewell to the manager. The resident I support doesn't mix with other residents but we sat at the edge of the gathering and I had an opportunity to observe from a distance. It was a lovely event with a singer and barbecue. I was struck by the many off duty staff members present and although obviously 'in civvies' interacted beautifully with residents as well as each other to create a caring and friendly atmosphere.

I wanted to commend the staff at Burnham Lodge as well as the Activities co-ordinator who organised a participative and friendly event.

Since Aunty Val, has been in the home, it has been lovely to visit her and so different from visiting her at home when we had to do things rather than spend quality time with her. The activity ladies are so lovely - Christina is always so helpful and its so nice to have something going on all the time.

Since my father moved into Burnham Lodge last April, I just wanted to re-iterate how pleased we are with the care and love that dad receives from the staff at the Home.
Nothing is too much trouble, and dad's needs are always attended to in a professional and caring manner.
He is treated like a member of the family, which is how the care home feels whenever we visit.
Thank you to all of the amazing staff.

Xx TT

As soon as I entered this care home I knew this was the place for my husband who had lost all mental capacity but needed specialized, loving care. There was just a lovely warm, busy and friendly atmosphere from the staff and residents and the environment was impressive with well decorated spacious rooms in a beautiful old building.
The care was good and my husband was well looked after with one to one care. He was always well turned out, clean and nothing was too much trouble. Although he was wheelchair bound and unaware what was happening around him, the carers ensured he was out of his room and joined in with the activities scheduled for the day or was out in the impressive grounds during the warmer weather.

The home has a lot going on throughout the day and everyone is encouraged to participate in activities in the two day rooms or go out on local day trips. I would definitely recommend this home and thank everyone for making my husband's last days so comfortable and happy.

I attended the Halloween party 1st Nov. Lovely atmosphere and a good mi of residents and guests. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely time, and my mother did too.

Downside was the air quality in the conservatory with so many people in there, and unable to open the window to let in some cool fresh air. Also there was no supervision of the food and drink.

On visiting our friend, we were horrified to see that a staff meeting took precedence over his distress at requiring the toilet urgenty. The manager said he would be attended to when the meeting had finished.
1) Callous
2) Not putting resident's needs first
3) Not leaving at least one member of staff on duty during meeting.

Would not recommend this company or home.

We take all feedback seriously, though in this case we do not believe the account reflects what happens in our home. Our records show no such incident, as described, occurred. For reassurance to families: Staff meetings are held by department only, so nurses or carers are always on duty. A staff...

My mum is been a permanent resident and has been there for 6 weeks and has settled very well (has wobbled a couple of times - to be expected).
Staff are excellent in their compassion and understanding.
There is always a wide range of activities going on including days out with no pressure to join in.
The house is stunning with 2 conservatories with beautiful grounds and garden which my mum particularly enjoys.
Mum has a lovely room with a view that she adores watching wildlife.
It was mum's birthday a few days ago and we had a afternoon tea with family which was fantastic and all arranged smoothly.
The food is wonderful and mum who is a picky eater is very happy.
It's taken time to get to this position but with the help of all the staff we are beginning to feel much more relaxed in handing over mum's care and being able to enjoy family time with her again.

Thoroughly recommend.

My dad has been in Burnham Lodge since April. The care, attention and professionalism of all staff has been extraordinary! We couldn't be happier! The home itself is spotlessly clean and homely. The rooms are lovely. Everyone has been so lovely, friendly and welcoming, thank you! My dad is treated so gently and with absolute respect. The confidence it has given us, that he is being excellently cared for, is priceless! Thank you to every staff member, you are AMAZING!!

My name is Daria, and I’ve had the privilege of working at Burnham Lodge Nursing Home for over two years. I’m excited to support Burnham Lodge as a Deputy Manager and continue growing in my career. I've been a nurse for eight years, throughout my career, I’ve worked extensively in the learning disability and dementia care sectors, which has fueled my passion for providing person-centred care.

I love bringing smiles to people’s faces through outstanding care, which keeps me motivated every day. I’m particularly passionate about dementia care and wanted to work for an organisation where ‘people matter’.

At Burnham Lodge, my positivity and enthusiasm are not only supported but encouraged, and that makes all the difference.

While some days can be challenging, I always find moments that remind me why I love working in care—whether it’s a resident’s smile, hearing their life stories, or sharing an emotional moment with a colleague.

I’m excited to continue developing in this rewarding field and make an even greater difference in the lives of those I care for.
