We have found the management and all the care staff to be extremely professional, helpful, caring and supportive of both Mother and our ourselves. The food provided is excellent in both quality and variety. Mother is always treated with dignity and respect. We are always kept fully informed of any issues around Mum and health or behaviours which is very much appreciated by us.

We are very happy with the overall care being provided by Catherine Court and it's staff.

When my sister and I viewed Catherine Court we were immediately impressed with how caring, professional and friendly the staff were, they made us feel reassured that they would look after our Mother well and keep her safe.

Our Mother has been living at Catherine Court for just under four weeks now and the

whole transition of moving her from hospital to the home has been smooth and painless. Mum has a bright room and we have been encouraged to personalise it with photos, pictures and personal possessions to make it feel like home.

Having suffered a severe stroke Mum is unable to talk, however the staff are so good with her and she has made good progress with her dexterity since arriving at Catherine Court.

We are so pleased we chose Catherine Court for Mum, we know she is in good hands.

My mother has been at Catherine Court since the end of January 2018 and has now really settled in. Every time I visit, she is smiling and quick to laugh, so I can tell that she's happy. She is always clean and tidy and generally really well turned out. Mum has always been a very elegant and proud lady, and the caring staff go to great lengths to make sure her hair is just as she likes it, and will often do her makeup for her. Mum loves that. The activities are plentiful and stimulating, so mum is occupied and engaged, which is so vital to her well-being. All the staff, without exception, are compassionate, kind and caring; I have the utmost like and respect for each and every one of them. Theirs is a tough job and they do it with real love. My sister, brother and I, whilst devastated that our beloved mum needs such care, know that she is in the very best of hands and can rest assured that she is safe. We are truly grateful to everyone at Catherine Court. Thank you.

Very satisfied with the care provided for my mother who is currently receiving palliative care.
Staff are well informed, patient, caring, respectful and supportive.
Management and administrative staff available and communicative.
The meals are very good and varied.
Bedding inadequate at times eg sheets do not fit the mattress.

The physical environment is dated and could be improved. The en-suite bathroom does not have a shower.

My mother has been in Catherine Court care home for six years. In this time there has been a number of management and staffing changes over the years but also a number of team members who are quite long-serving. In the first two years of her residency, some gaps were noted in the attention to reporting and administrative procedures, but the home has taken active steps to address these shortfalls and has shown much-improved consistency in management practices in recent years. Nurses and staff, in general, appear caring and hard-working, in particular, the longer-serving members of the team who have, in my opinion, provided excellent support to my mother. Her complex dementia needs have been treated with care and respect; she is clean, healthy, and appears comfortable in her interactions with the staff at the home. At this point in time and based in particular on the last four years' experience, I would have no problem in recommending this care home.

Four years ago, sadly my Mum became unable to live at home any more. She was placed in a local care home where she did not receive favourable treatment. Her health both physical and mental declined quite rapidly. I knew I had to place her somewhere else as she was just not being cared for. Luckily I discovered Catherine Court and was able to move Mum into a completely different genuine caring environment.
Within weeks her sores healed and she attained a level of contentment I was happy with.
During her time at Catherine Court, I was totally satisfied that she received the best possible care and that given her limitations her life was as full as it could be. This was due to the daytime activities and attention that the staff bestow on the residents.

I was also impressed with the regular updates and reviews that Catherine Court undertake on a regular basis.

Staff at Catherine Court made my fathers last days relaxed and worry-free. We knew he was in good hands and well looked after.
Staff always greeted us with a smile and an update of how Dad had been.
They were a huge support to all the family in the last weeks of Dad's life and genuinely cared about all their residents.

Dad was always cared for in a professional and dignified manner and staff always gave you their time even when they were stretched and busy.

The new management has completely changed this care home. It made my visit to see my mum a totally different experience. She is no longer in a wheelchair all day sitting at a dining table. She is now sitting in a recliner chair in a sunny room.
The dining room now is a totally different room. Tablecloth, mats, round tables and a vase of flowers. The staff smile and talk to you.
They now move the care patients to the dining room for lunch.
I am so pleased to see these changes.

Thank you.

Although mum has only been a resident for just under once month, she has settled in well. All staff are polite and helpful. I have no worries about leaving her at Catherine Court. The activities lady there is extremely good and I haven't seen mum laughing and enjoying herself for some time. Definitely a place to be recommended.

My husband was only a resident for a very short while but during his stay he was well cared for and the family were always welcome when they visited him. The staff showed concern for his well-being and made every effort to make him as comfortable as possible.

Would like staff to take more time to interact with residents. Often see them just sitting in a room not doing anything. Activities are provided sometimes and are good, especially music ones. Not many outings - possibly because of residents not well enough. Staff friendly to resident's relatives and very supportive.

My wife has been in Catherine Court for about a year. Whilst it is not the most modern of nursing homes, and in places it is a little 'sad', this is not a problem.
The level of care, love, kindness and dignity shown by all staff to my wife and other residents is of the highest standard.
My wife eats well, drinks adequately and always looks clean and well cared for.
There are a good range of activities and the two activity coordinators show residents and families the same degree of kindness as they show to all the residents.

My wife is calm, free from agitation and though I cannot say if she is happy, she is certainly not unhappy. My appreciation and thanks go to all at Catherine Court.

Corina Andreescu
Corina AndreescuJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2024

I have been working in the healthcare sector for over 20 years in the UK.

I have a nursing background in my home country, and I worked as a dental nurse and in leadership positions in dentistry for 15 years. Since 2018, I have worked in the care sector as a registered manager of residential and nursing homes. I decided to work for Care UK because it is an established care provider with a very good reputation that takes pride in its values and vision.

I have been a registered manager with the Care Quality Commission since 2010, and I am currently studying to obtain my BA (Hons) degree in Business and Management.

In a Home Manger role, a person should be very kind, caring, patient and nurturing towards all residents and colleagues. When I’m able to inspire others and reflect my kindness through everything I do, I feel proud of my role at Catherine Court.

My favourite part of the day is spending time interacting with the residents. I even participate in some of their daily activities and help the team whenever I can.

I have had many achievements throughout my career that I am proud of, however the highlight was when I managed to turn around a care home from being closed by CQC (rated Inadequate overall) to Good, in just six months.

When I’m not working, I absolutely love spending time with my cat, Alfie. I also like photography, reading, painting and travelling, and I have a keen interest in holistic therapies and spirituality.
