Thank you for taking the time to submit your review, and for your positive scores, particularly around care and the team at Catherine Court. We will share your comments with the Lifestyle team - at Care UK, activities are a vital part of life in our homes and we realise how important they are for residents. We do run two activities every day, and our weekly activity plan is always displayed in reception –recently this has included such varied activities as karaoke, afternoon teas, pampering sessions and entertainers such as singers coming into the home. Of course, we would never force someone to take part in an activity if they did not want to, and recognise that some residents prefer one-to-one activities, which can be delivered in the privacy of their own room if this is where they feel more comfortable. I am also happy to say that we are in the process of organising a large summer outing, which we know both residents and the team at the home are very much looking forward to. Of course, at Catherine Court, we always welcome feedback from both residents as well as their friends and families, so if there is an activity you would like us to add to the plan then, of course, please do let us know and we will try our best to include this. Thank you again for your review, and please do let us know if you have any further comments or feedback now or in the future.
Thank you very much for your review - I’m very pleased to hear your positive comments and scores, particularly regarding the friendliness of our team at Catherine Court. Regarding staffing levels, I would like to assure you that these are monitored daily and, due to the design of the home, team members are not always visible if they are in rooms assisting residents. However, the care team at Catherine Court are aware that when residents are making use of communal areas, there should always be a member of staff present to assist and engage with them. Thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback, and of course please do let us know now or at any time in the future if you have any further comments or suggestions.

I have been working in the healthcare sector for over 20 years in the UK.
I have a nursing background in my home country, and I worked as a dental nurse and in leadership positions in dentistry for 15 years. Since 2018, I have worked in the care sector as a registered manager of residential and nursing homes. I decided to work for Care UK because it is an established care provider with a very good reputation that takes pride in its values and vision.
I have been a registered manager with the Care Quality Commission since 2010, and I am currently studying to obtain my BA (Hons) degree in Business and Management.
In a Home Manger role, a person should be very kind, caring, patient and nurturing towards all residents and colleagues. When I’m able to inspire others and reflect my kindness through everything I do, I feel proud of my role at Catherine Court.
My favourite part of the day is spending time interacting with the residents. I even participate in some of their daily activities and help the team whenever I can.
I have had many achievements throughout my career that I am proud of, however the highlight was when I managed to turn around a care home from being closed by CQC (rated Inadequate overall) to Good, in just six months.
When I’m not working, I absolutely love spending time with my cat, Alfie. I also like photography, reading, painting and travelling, and I have a keen interest in holistic therapies and spirituality.
