My Mother lived in Hamilton House for five years. For most of the time, she was active and loved all the sociable and interesting activities, and made friendships amongst her fellow Residents and the staff. In particular, she valued the regular exercise classes, film shows and music as well as the Sunday
Acts of Worship led by visiting Church volunteers. She appreciated the welcome that was given to her visitors and, as a relative, I felt equally well looked after by the staff, always greeted by name. This same sensitive and cheerful care for us both continued latterly, as she became largely bedridden and her care needs changed.
Hamilton House is not the smartest building but it was always clean and nicely decorated and valued by Residents for being homely. The food is generous and always looks and smells appetizing.
My Mother was very well served for the last years of her life.

My mum has the best care at Hamilton House.
Me and my sister feel relieved that she is cared for and looked after.
The staff are wonderful and Mum is happy which is so important to us.
The rooms are clean and the care given to residents is excellent.
It’s the little things the carers do to help
Mum which make her stay comfortable.
The manager has been very helpful.

Mum has been a resident here for over a year now, and I can't fault the care and service she has always received. The whole team really care about her and will go out of their way to ensure her needs are met. They are like family now, and all work so hard to look after Mum and also, ensure we are kept
informed. The facilities are excellent, Mum always enjoys the meals, and they ensure her nutritional needs are met. Regular activities are organised, from watching films in the cinema room, crafting, cooking, magicians, visits from a variety of pets, sing-alongs and outings such as the panto at Christmas. During these especially difficult Covid times, this is the best place she could have been. I am so grateful that we found Hamilton House as a permanent home for Mum after Dad passed away in January 2020. They are simply brilliant.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hamilton House Care Home. The care, compassion and kindness my father was shown during the last weeks of his life were a huge comfort to our family. Staff did all they could to look after him with professionalism and sensitivity. We were able to have FaceTime calls with
him during the Covid lockdown, which was a very difficult time. The home was always very clean and nicely furnished, warm, cosy and welcoming. The staff were amazing and are always smiley and cheerful even when they are under pressure. We are sad that Dad didn’t have more time left to fully enjoy the activities at the home, but he was treated with tenderness and dignity to the end.

Despite being a very old building and looking a bit worn in places, it was very clean and tidy. The staff were excellent and treated mum so well. We had enormous trust in them all. They really care about the residents and what they do for them is beyond reproach. We are extremely grateful for everything
and couldn't have wished for a better place to end her days. Thank you.

I am a lady in my early 70's. In early June I fell in my garden fracturing an ankle. I has also been unwell for a couple of months prior to the fall. I found I couldn't manage in my own home and felt in need of some support. Hamilton House was able to offer me a room. I had a very pleasant room looking
out on the enclosed garden, where it was my joy to hear a wren regularly singing outside my window, which boosted my low spirits, along with the wonderful care I received from staff at all levels and in every department. I cannot speak highly enough of my time in residence. I had all the help and support I needed but space just to 'be' and gather strength. Everyone was kind and considerate and nothing too much trouble. I was able to extend my stay until I felt ready to return home. It proved to be my saving grace!

Mum looks better every day I see her. The care she is receiving makes me feel confident that when I say goodbye to her to go home, I know she is being treated well with the highest level of respect and dignity. Mum always looks so well dressed, hair done, makeup on and her nails are painted by her girls
regularly. They always have entertainment on and something happening all the time. Everyone is kind and approachable. This home is one of the best you could imagine.

My mother-in-law is now a resident at Hamilton House. As a nurse myself, I have found the nursing care provided to my her by the team to be outstanding, particularly as she had been admitted with bedsores that have continued to improve with the care that has been provided. I am impressed by the standards
being set.

My mother went into Hamilton House for two weeks respite care in August.
It is a very helpful and caring place to be and the staff are respectful and friendly in what feels like a very homely, family orientated home.
I have been delighted with the way she has been cared for and Mum was really happy
there, and I would not hesitate in using this care home in the future when my mum will need a permanent residence
Many thanks for looking after her with care and respect.

My Mother came to Hamilton House two months ago following a hospital admission for bed sores. I have been so impressed by the care and attention mum has received since becoming a resident. And while she is still bedbound she is being cared for in a way that gives us confidence that she is in the best
place.

I consider researching care homes is essential in choosing the right one, especially for Mum. Location was essential for ease of visitors, the quality of the rooms and choice of room styles is varied and apt for Mum but when it comes to seeing the care and love that all the staff have given Mum during
her time at Hamilton House it could not be bettered.
The staff are all so friendly and obviously enjoy working here. The atmosphere is of a fun place where nothing is too much trouble whether for residents or any visitors, whether family or friends.
Mum has enjoyed her stay here and we are amazed at the standard of care she has received from the nurses and carers here from start to finish. She has had brilliant care constantly from all the team, enjoyed visits to local events such as pantomime, carol services and the charter fair to ensure she is entertained and not just left sitting in a chair.
If need be I would stay here myself when my care needs reach this stage.
Thank you Hamilton House.

Mum has been a resident at Hamilton House for just over 18 months. During this time she has not only been extremely well cared for, but all the staff at Hamilton House show their love for their residents. This is a great comfort for her family, particularly those of us who live a distance away. Nothing

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.311)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.311) out of 10 for Hamilton House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.641 for Hamilton House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.641
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.67 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hamilton House Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.2 = 0.87
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
