I’ve been visiting the home for around 13 months and am extremely happy with everything about it. The staff are very warm, kind and caring and make every effort to make sure my friend is always happy and cared for. My friend is very happy in the home. The enclosed courtyard garden is beautiful, the
roses are just coming out and are a picture. We sat and had tea there the other day. If only all care homes were like this one!

A home from Home! My brother has various nursing needs and was no longer coping with living at home. The whole team made the transition from home to Hamilton House as pleasant as possible. The rooms are homely and the staff are some of the sweetest people you could meet. Nothing is ever too much and
my brother loves all the staff. It is like one big family there and you are more than welcome at every visit. I am always offered tea and cake.

Hamilton House is, without doubt, the nicest home you could wish to encounter! From the first moment I visited I was made to feel welcome. The laughter in the home is infectious and it makes you feel all the more happy just being there.
All team members are kind, caring and approachable.
The food
is delicious, before being here it was a rare occurrence to see my Aunt finish a meal, now it is a regular occurrence. I am always offered tea and cake on arrival and the carrot cake I had the other day was lovely.
My Aunt enjoys the activities, the History day was of great enjoyment. There was a "Once upon a time event" when staff dressed up and huge laughs were had by all, even the local Mayor attended.
I would recommend this home to anyone looking for somewhere where they will know their loved one will get the care and attention they truly deserve. My Aunt had planned to stay here for a two-week respite stay, over six months later she is still very happy and has decided to stay permanently.

There is always something going on around the home and there is always laughter coming from every direction. The care is above and beyond what you would expect and the nurses and
management go out of their way to provide the best service possible.

The staff are very friendly but very professional. I feel so pleased to see how the staff provide such great assistance to my brother, in his final days, with such care, love and compassion. The house is filled with love and warmth. A wonderful place.

Before the placement, the brief was a room for my wife's Grandfather to rest and watch tv whilst receiving 24/7 nursing care. My wife delivered the tv and was encouraged to move the furniture to how it would suit her and they had the tv wired up and ready to go before 9 am the next morning.

Her Grandfather's

needs were more than met, the care we saw was above and beyond what we expected.
Nothing was too much from arranging a haircut, putting a chair in the room at a moment's notice for her Grandfather when he thought he might like to sit for a while. The kitchen staff provided different meals to cater for his needs and often the care staff and nurses would be sat in with him chatting away.

Sadly his stay came to an end today and right from the call to let us know and taking time to sit as we said goodbye to explaining what to do next showed real compassion and dedication.

I can honestly say just pop in for a visit if you're unsure if a care home is the right choice for your loved one.

My dad went into Hamilton House and was so made to feel very welcome as were his visitors. He was looked after to a very high standard and I cannot thank the staff enough. Nothing was ever much trouble. If you wanted something they would do their utmost to help you. My dad thought the world of the staff
there, so once again, thank you.

I am a lay minister and I visit Hamilton House Care Home every four to five weeks to conduct a service with hymns and short talks and prayers.

I also administer Holy Communion to all who enjoy this, whether they are confirmed or not.

I have befriended one resident who is often very poorly and

visit her in her room to give Holy Communion. I also enjoy meeting the friendly staff.

My wife has been resident at this home for four years now and in all that time not once has it been necessary to complain about care, which has been excellent throughout.

The food generally has been good, despite having to be pureed.

Being generally confined to her bed has not been practical for

her to take part in the activities.

Wonderful place, wonderful staff. New manager in post who is also very nice and welcoming. Feels homely to walk into. Wonderful care is given. Lots of singing and laughter. There is always some activities or something going on. At Christmas, the staff actually went around the home and did carol singing
which was very touching to watch. Would highly recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.311)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.311) out of 10 for Hamilton House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.641 for Hamilton House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.641
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.67 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hamilton House Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.2 = 0.87
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
