Hamilton House have cared for my nan very well since she arrived just over a year ago. The staff have been very caring to my nan and also to us as a whole family, they remember all of our names and go above and beyond. There is always a lovely atmosphere in the home when I visit.

Myself and my other friends have nothing but positive things to say about this Home. I visit the Home at least once a week, sometimes twice. The staff here are attentive and genuinely care. The home feels like a home from home. You are always welcomed with a cup of tea and fresh cake. There is always
something going on and the staff are always helpful and friendly. The building may be old and due a little updating but the love and care is second to none. Nothing is too much for any of the staff and I look forward to my visits.

Hamilton House is one of the nicest homes you could wish to visit. I have been coming here for the last three years to visit a dear friend of mine. The whole team are some of the kindest people you will ever meet, from the domestic assistants through to the manager. The home has recently got a new manager
who is very approachable, her office door is always open and she goes above and beyond to make sure the home is a happy place for residents, visitors and her team. There is always laughter when I visit and the residents in the home are always smiling and look well cared for. If ever I were to require a nursing home for my own loved one I would look no further than Hamilton House.

Nursing care is excellent.
Sometimes carers seem under pressure to attend to everyone fully.
There have been a few niggles but on the whole, once an issue has been raised it has been dealt with.
On the whole, I am satisfied that this is a caring and safe environment for my father.

Its a difficult decision - whether family/friend or the person moving into a care home - accepting the reality of needing support and some loss of independent living. Mum was unable to live on her own so we had to look for an alternative 'home' for her. From the initial assessment to now (living at
Hamilton House 14 months) its been a comfort and given peace of mind to all including Mum that she has excellent staff taking care of all her needs, and to us as a family being involved with decisions or concerns. We are always made to feel welcome regardless of the time of day or how busy staff are. There are some staff who go above and beyond and this ethos underpins the service given.
One area needs improvement - steps to front door - no wheelchair access - but this shouldn't detract from the main reason for choosing Hamilton House - the excellent, attentive and friendly staff and the care and dignity given to residents.

Hamilton House provides an excellent service. Mum is well looked after and the staff go over and above to make her comfortable and happy. The staff are friendly towards the relatives and make you feel part of a large happy family. In December when our son was getting married the staff dressed mum up
in her finery and watched the ceremony via facetime. They also provided sparkling wine and decorated the room. What more could you ask for? OVER AND ABOVE!

The staff at Hamilton House are a group of lovely, dedicated people who care deeply for the residents. We have had such a positive experience since Mum moved there at the end of February. Our wishes are always considered seriously and Mum is treated with respect, decency and love. The food is of a very
good quality and is served with care. We always feel welcome when visiting and refreshments are always available. One reason for our choice of Hamilton House is that it feels very much like a cosy home rather than an institution. We are always greeted warmly by all staff and although we know they're busy they make time to speak to you. Being a smaller home we feel we are getting to know people as part of a family. We are very happy that Mum has chosen to stay there.

I found all members of staff exceedingly helpful and very caring for both my husband and I. The food is excellent also and the activities in the home has improved immensely.
The nursing staff are excellent, in particular the Clinical Lead has been particularly helpful to myself with my husbands stay,
being considerate of his situation and long term medical conditions. I am totally, totally happy with his care and him being at Hamilton House.

My mother in law has been at the home for around 3 years. We have always been kept in the loop with regards to health or needs.
There is a new Manager in post who is like a breath of fresh air. The nurses are probably the nicest people I have ever met, always tentative and answer any queries. The
staff are amazing, always happy to help. The building leaves a lot to be desired however the care provided is second to none.

From that first phone call when you are told 'we will do everything to get your Grandad in here straight away' I knew we did the right thing. They listen to all the worries about previous care issues, made a note of them and put a detailed care plan in place. Double checked everything and moved Grandad
in within 48 hours of that first phone call. Grandad has been here 4 weeks now and the staff all follow his lead and pace. Nothing is too much trouble and I get updates via the phone as well as face to face ones when I come in.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My 91-year-old mother is a service user. I have visited her almost every day over 4+weeks and stayed for about 2 hours each time between late morning and early evening. I have been repeatedly struck by how attentive the staff are to my mother's various needs. Not only professional, the staff are also
kind, pleasant and patient. The record keeping file in the patient's room is kept punctiliously up to date, I noticed, and is factually informative about my mother over the 24 hours day. The staff make a point of communicating with my mother and me, and on request will supply further information willingly. The food and drink from what I've seen given to my mother in her room is good and the ensuite room is well appointed and comfortable. When she wants or needs something, the staff will always respond or oblige as the case may be. The atmosphere is always pleasant and, from my observation, the nursing and care staff clearly conscientious.

The level of care at this home has been outstanding. The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and most importantly kind to my nan.
The house is extremely clean and tidy and all meals have been of a very good standard.
The senior nurse is 'one in a million'. From my nan's arrival, she has gone
way beyond kind and is the most caring and thoughtful nurser we've ever met, she's an absolute angel.

My mum was in Hamilton House for 2 weeks. She was very happy, and very well cared for. All the staff were amazing. Not one member of staff let them down, which is so unusual these days. The care was given to patients and their families. All the staff went above and beyond expectations. Me and
my family had no issues at all.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.311)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.311) out of 10 for Hamilton House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.641 for Hamilton House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.641
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.67 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hamilton House Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.2 = 0.87
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
