Situated in a quiet residential area of Milton Keynes, there are strong local community links with local shops and pubs within walking distance. There are excellent public transport services to central Milton Keynes Shopping Centre which is only a short bus ride away.

Neath Hill is a purpose built residential care home with an excellent reputation for providing a high standard of permanent and respite Dementia care and accommodation. There are 47 single bedrooms, 38 of which have en-suite facilities, along with six cosy lounges and five dining areas with kitchenettes.

Additionally, there is a Hairdressing Salon and a lovely conservatory, used as a dining area, activity area, disco and library. Two of the lounges open onto their own enclosed courtyards, and there is also a large south facing garden, all of which are accessible to wheelchair users.

Remaining active is important and the home offers a wide variety of daily activities, along with events, such as discos, seated Ballet sessions, church services, a visiting hairdresser and chiropodist. All of which enhance the quality of life for the residents at Neath Hill.

The new manager that came in has taken things away from residents and made the home clinical, where the home was very homely, that is why I and my sister picked this home in the first place. He has taken the dolls away, which the residents like. Residents are smelling as 3 pads are not enough. He has
taken the pram away which again which residents like to push. I am not happy. Nothing for them to do.
Reply from Deepu Pillai, Manager at Excelcare Neath HouseThank you for your feedback Jackie; at Neath House, we take feedback from our residents and their families very seriously. Our team strives to create and maintain a homely environment where those living here can relax, ensuring that every resident is enjoying life here through our regular activities and events.
As you know, we have recently refurbished some areas of Neath House, creating a new café for those living here and their families to make use of. During the renovations some older items were removed from Neath House, however, you will notice that many new sensory items have been introduced for those living here to enjoy, including new dolls and prams. Our facilities haven’t been compromised through our recent renovations, and those living here can still enjoy a variety of spaces and things to do.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any suggestions for Neath House, as we are always open to feedback and ideas in order to improve quality of life for each of our residents.
Thank You.

Mum stayed at Neath House for six weeks. From the offset, the staff made her and us feel very welcome and were always on hand to answer questions. I felt that mum was always well cared for, with the staff keeping me informed of any issues that arose during her stay. Mum participated in the activities
that were put on for the residents and she particularly enjoyed the singer who was there whilst we were visiting.

Thank you for taking such good care of my mum at what was a very difficult time for our family it was very much appreciated.

My mother stayed at Neath house from March 2018 to December 2018. In the time that she resided there, we were always very impressed with everyone who dealt with her.
All of the care workers took time to help and assist our mother all of the time. The manager was always available and if anything was
planned for our mum, we always got a call asking if it was OK.
Our mother has moved on to another care home and if she is afforded anything like the care she obtained at Neath house, she will be very happy.
Reply from Deepu Pillai, Manager at Excelcare Neath HouseThank you very much for your feedback and it's great to hear that your Mum had a great time at Neath.

To be fair, I have only been in Neath House 5 times. Interview and twice when my wife was taken and fetched. At all times I was treated with respect and courtesy, in fact very friendly.
I have no fears about my wife staying at Neath House at any future dates. I am glad she has been well looked after.
Very many thanks.

The care given to my mum I think is excellent, especially for when she first came. The staff had exceptional patience and have carried that on ever since.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.961)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.961) out of 10 for Excelcare Neath House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.961 for Excelcare Neath House is calculated as follows: ( (345 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 358 Ratings = 4.961
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Excelcare Neath House is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 47 registered maximum number of service users is 9.4, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
