I looked at several homes for my mother who suffers from memory loss/vascular dementia. I chose this home because it seemed airy and bright. The staff were all very friendly and obviously had a good relationship with residents.
Since my mother moved in, she has been well cared for by caring, attentive
staff. I have been informed of at all times about her well-being and health and would not hesitate in recommending it to others.

Westbury Grange is a facility that offers residents and visitors a good experience. It's bright, modern, well run, fun and is how all care homes should be. With parents in care, I don't have to worry and importantly the visits are good. It's a welcoming place and the staff are great. I don't think there
are many places like it or that would achieve such good quality of standards. When they do music events you should see my mum singing. I will have to book my room in advance!

The staff made me feel welcome when I moved in, I have been allowed to make the room personal with furniture from home.
It's nice that I don't have to worry about cooking, cleaning and laundry now. Everything is taken care of for me.

During the time my mum has been in Westbury Grange the family has received total support and care from all the friendly staff. We have been able to voice any concerns and get a rapid, caring and positive response. My mum has flourished and feels safe in her environment, which is kept clean and tidy.
She is treated with dignity and best of all the staff really know and understand her. I feel totally happy to leave my mum in the care of this home with these lovely people. Thank you all.

My mother has been cared for at Westbury for end of life care and I cannot praise the staff and management here highly enough. Throughout her stay she was treated with compassion and respect. The carers and nursing staff were all very caring and you could tell they obviously cared for all the residents.
The food is very good and the building is maintained to a high standard by an excellent maintenance man. If ever there was a problem it was dealt with very quickly. I would definitely recommend this care home as one of the better ones in Milton Keynes.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.721)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.721) out of 10 for Westbury Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 11 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.946 for Westbury Grange is calculated as follows: ( (122 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 129 Ratings = 4.946
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.775 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westbury Grange is based on 11 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 = 3.775
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 11 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
