I come down when I am able once a month. I have always found my relative to be happy and content. The staff are always friendly.

The management and leaders and staff on Benbow are caring and efficient. They work hard to help residents. I am so glad my partner is in this home as I know he is cared for and I don't have to worry.

Caring staff, nice meals. Always plenty of carers around, try hard to entertain residents. Laundry tends to go missing and have had to ask for my mother to be changed on occasion. My mother requires nursing as she has a peg and found the nurses excellent. Good communication regarding my mother.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, at Admirals Reach Care Home

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding the staff at the home which I have shared with the team. I understand that the labels kindly provided by family members had come off during the wash in our laundry, for which we apologise, however, we did manage to return all the laundry items before your relative left the home.

Very happy with care home and staff. All residents treated with dignity and care and attention. Residents receive individual care and carefully monitored. Care home cleanliness is good. Residents appear happy and comfortable. Activities regularly organised and enjoyed by all. Activities are well planned and of good quality. Decor and some furniture and furnishings could be improved.

Really happy with the level of care provided. Staff are friendly, caring and hardworking. Care staff and nurses not only care for my resident mother but also support my 87-year-old father who visits almost every day. Staff build an attachment to patients, appropriate attentiveness based on knowledge of needs. Therefore staff turnover should be kept to a minimum. Food and laundry excellent.

Can't believe it's been over 6 years since my husband has been in Jellicoe. As I have said in the past it is the most wonderful home, with all the staff working so hard. He receives the greatest of care, always clean, well shaven and looking tidy. This is now his forever home and a lot of the time it feels like my home too. Just a big thank you to everyone.

My wife has been in care for 3 1/2 years, the last 14 months at Jellicoe House. I have experienced care homes as my wife's mother had Parkinson's and her sister Vascular Dementia which my wife and myself had to deal with. I help my wife with her breakfast every morning and welcomed in by the staff with a kind word and a happy smile. When I arrive members of staff are busy cleaning or returning clean laundry all with a good morning and smile. My wife is washed, clean and tidy, looking comfortable. Breakfast is always ready on a tray with a cup of tea and biscuits for me. Again in the evening, the meal is good. The entertainment is good with a newsletter to keep you up to date. Staff do an excellent job every day.

My mother-in-law has been here for nearly three years. She is well cared for; the staff are very kind, good-humoured, patient and relate to residents well. Sometimes in what seem to be difficult circumstances.

Sometimes the residents might benefit from more stimulation but it is appreciated that is often challenging to organise.
