Our experience is no more than exceptional! There isn't one area of the home that we can fault! From the kitchen staff, the laundry team and then every single member in Benbow, they all blow us away with their professionalism, care and empathy. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I have found my mother to be happy here with the caring staff. The home parking can be a problem in the morning, but that is my only comment on the negative side.

Everyone who works here are so kind and always say hello or how are you with a smile on their face. The place is always kept tidy and clean. I hear the activities here are very good from my nan, which she loves so so then she can get out of her room for a bit of fresh air.

I cannot justify in words the kindness of staff, the high level of care given and the positivity about the place. They have taken extremely good care of my mother since she has been there. This is evident by her morale, her positivity and telling me how great the staff are. I am very lucky she got placed
in Admirals Reach Care Home. 100% thoroughly recommend.

My wife has been in Admirals Reach for over a year now, during which time she has received very professional care and is always treated with respect and kindness. The staff are so kind and caring and my wife is always well dressed and clean. Seeing the way staff deal with other residents reassures me
that my loved one is being well cared for.
I have to thank all the staff for the attention they give to all residents, and of course for the benefit I get from the coffee and chats when things get me down.

My father Philip was admitted in July of this year with terminal cancer. He sadly deteriorated rapidly and passed away in November. Throughout his stay care and nursing staff were highly responsive to his changing needs. Utmost care was taken to reduce pain and with the support of the hospice his
medication was monitored and adjusted.
All staff at the home were kind, thoughtful, with my father's welfare at their absolute priority. His room was kept very clean. His clothes were well laundered and he appreciated the choice of lunch, especially as choices were shown to him prior to serving.
Sadly two of his paintings were not put on his room wall and subsequently disappeared.
I have nothing but admiration for the kindness and patience shown by all staff he came into contact with.
On my father's behalf a big thank you to you all.
Reply from Julie Caygill, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Admirals Reach Care HomeThank you so much for leaving such a lovely review of our home. Your kind words mean the world to our colleagues, who work tirelessly throughout the year to provide the kindest possible care to our residents. It was truly a privilege and an honour to care for your father, and we hope that knowing he was well cared for brings you some comfort during this difficult time.
Regarding the painting, please feel free to contact the home directly to discuss this further. If theres anything else we can do to support you and your family, please dont hesitate to let us know.

The care has always been excellent for my dad, he has been here over 5 years, and the most important thing is that all the main nurses are the same as when he first arrived, who are all excellent.
All the carers are excellent and very hard working, and nothing is a problem for them.

My dad has been a resident of the care home for almost 4 years with Alzheimer's disease. During this time I have been extremely satisfied with his care. He is always clean and tidy, as is his room. I know he is happy and content even though there have been challenges with his illness.
He enjoys the
entertainment, especially the music and singing. The food is amazing and cooked on site. The most important thing for me is how caring and professional the staff are. Nothing is too much trouble and they keep you well informed. They are amazing.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.687)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.687) out of 10 for Admirals Reach Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 85 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 84 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.687 for Admirals Reach Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (735 Excellents x 5) + (259 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 1012 Ratings = 4.687
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Admirals Reach Care Home is based on 84 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 158 registered maximum number of service users is 31.6, which has been reached with 84 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
