My mother, who had dementia, was admitted to Admirals Reach in February 2024 and spent 17 months as a resident before passing away in July 2025. At all times, Mum was treated with respect and dignity. Despite her dementia, she was made to feel that she was part of the community. Staff at Admirals Reach
have been excellent at all times. I have found them professional, caring and accessible. I have been able to contact them at all times, and they have kept me well informed. The home is clean and very well run. Thank you for everything you did for Mum.

Every single member of staff in Nelson House (nurses, carers, cleaners and activities) have been exceptional. Dad has been very well cared for with kindness and dignity throughout his time there.
As a family we have also been treated very well and professionally and with kindness too.
Everytime we
have had questions or concerns on any level, were dealt with straight away.
We were always made to feel welcome Dad was always made to feel comfortable and loved.
The staff in Nelson House are a credit to Admirals Reach.

My dad was very well looked after. Even though I know how hard he could be to even do the simple things he carer built up a great relationship with him that he would listen and do the staff that he should do. Everyone showed care and passion with dad's care. We are very grateful.

Dad had been a resident for three months and we were recommended Admirals Reach by a friend whose husband had been a resident. We have been so happy with the care Dad has received. The staff are so lovely and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They rely any information to me very quickly, either
when we visit or by phone. Overall, we have no complaints, only praise for their hard work and care. Thank you.

Everything is good, sometimes getting Dad to the toilet can be delayed, but apart from that, all good.

Our mum was treated with the utmost respect at all times and her dignity was maintained. The staff at Jellico House are incredible and we are forever grateful that our mum spent her last days here. We don't believe you could find a care home with a better level of care which after all is the most important
factor.

Have been left from Monday 7th April to Friday 11th in total agony. No reasonable pain relief given despite explaining 6 times a day in pain. Did not sleep for 2 weeks previous to coming here in Hospital. Assumed my pain and sleep issues would be met. Was promised a 24 hour pain patch for Thursday,
surprise I didn't get it. I am 59 years old and I do NOT HAVE DEMENTIA. I will continue to refuse to eat. I have been told I have full capacity but staff will not have a serious discussion about discharge.

New admission to Admirals Reach. Came to view the care home quite late in the day, one of the management staff showed around the unit, even when he was due to end his shift. Very polite, answered all my questions. Admission day - they were all very friendly, greeting the new resident. Staff are very
polite & courteous. They have got to know my relative very quickly, knowing what drink he likes and how he has this. The senior managers on the unit have an open door policy which is fantastic. They are supportive when I take my relative out for the day and return around 21.00. The food is excellent. Would recommend this care home.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.681)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.681) out of 10 for Admirals Reach Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 87 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 86 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.681 for Admirals Reach Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (750 Excellents x 5) + (264 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 1036 Ratings = 4.681
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Admirals Reach Care Home is based on 86 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 158 registered maximum number of service users is 31.6, which has been reached with 86 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
