Nestled within the quiet surroundings of Chelmsford, Admirals Reach care home offers personalised residential, nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

The professional care team is on hand to help you or your loved one settle into life at the home. By getting to know each individual resident at Admirals Reach, they take pride in creating an engaging lifestyle which offers something for every resident to get involved with. Inside, Admirals Reach's modern yet homely interior includes well-furnished lounges and spacious rooms as well as a conservatory. Arranged in five separate houses, four of these provide dementia care and one provides residential care.

The home also offers a range of lovely dining areas where residents can relax and enjoy an intimate dining experience with family and friends, and in addition to the dining rooms, residents can also enjoy mealtimes in the peaceful courtyard garden on sunny days.

My Father in law has been a resident here for about 19 months and settled in well now and seems quite comfortable. His highlight of the day are his meals which always look very nice and generally never wastes. Overall I think the family are quite happy with his care. The staff are friendly and helpful,

My father had a challenging time in hospital and was very unwell therefore we could not place him back at home. He has stayed at Admirals Reach which has been kind, welcoming and reassuring for all of the family. My father can be quite awkward but all the staff are happy and patient. I would highly

Mum moved into Admirals Reach from another care home in another area approx 4 weeks ago. The difference in her well-being has been unbelievable.
She is now happy, content and taking an interest in life.
She has nothing but praise for all the staff and loves the food.
Despite being bedbound, the activities
team always go to see her and find time to talk to her. There are always staff on hand to discuss Mum's needs.

An excellent staff/client ratio - staff is always pleasant warm and welcoming. Our visits are often unannounced and we are greeted warmly. Our Dad is clean, well-fed, safe, and interacts with all the staff. The grounds are inviting. Any issues are communicated so we always know what's happening with

From the moment Mum began her 4 month stay in February 2023 and through her end-of-life care, the team of staff in Jellicoe House treated her with huge dignity, kindness and care. They sought to meet all of her needs and interacted with her with the gentleness she needed. The managers and care team
were also very supportive of me and my family. They were always happy to chat through any questions I had and provide regular updates.
I felt very satisfied with our choice of home and it has brought me great comfort to know that Mum was so well looked after.
Thank you so much to Jellicoe House, also to the manager and another particular member of staff in the office who was always happy to help with paperwork. I am grateful to you all.

I think the entertainment staff are excellent in 'Nelson House'. I was sitting in the lounge and one of the residents was feeling unwell. The lady doing the entertainment went to her aid. Later the resident said the entertainment lady saved her life. Praise indeed!

My dad was transferred to Admirals Reach Care Home in the summer of 2023 and as a family, we couldn't be happier with the care he is receiving. All of the staff are very attentive and work extremely hard to ensure all residents are happy and healthy. My dad has settled very well and the staff got to

Mum has only recently at Admirals Reach Care Home - everyone has worked extremely hard to make her feel at home and settled and have worked with myself and my brother and sister to ensure that her needs are met but most importantly that she is seen as an individual and a valued member of the community.
The whole staff team have made what might have been a difficult transition much easier for Mum. Thank you.

Came in to see my friend who at 11 am hasn't been washed, no one came in to see how is he since 6.30 am. Staff sitting in the lounge doing nothing, all dirty,and my friend wasn't washed till the afternoon that day. Nobody even came to help him get out of the bed. It's ridiculous, the only person who
was nice and helpful was the receptionist.

Incredible and supportive staff through the final months of my mothers life and before. Mum was always very vocal with how happy she was here, with a nearly 10 year stay before her passing.

My mother had some very mistaken ideas of a care home, largely from seeing the odd bad one on TV. Due to mobility issues, she finally needed 24/7 care and our social worker helped us to choose a care home. Thankfully, we chose Admirals Reach Care Home and cannot speak highly enough of the care Mum is
receiving, she constantly thanks us and on our visit, rates the excellent food, the cleanliness, the social atmosphere and the patience and genuine care of all the staff and the security she now enjoys.

Nothing is too much trouble for the caring staff at Nelson House - they really know their residents' personalities and adapt their care according to the needs of each person. Family members are welcomed and there is a friendly, calm and patient feel as you step into the home.

Lal is a Registered Nurse with over twenty years’ experience. He is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life to older people, to enrich their lives. Lal is dedicated to providing quality care and support for elderly people, to enrich their lives.


Lal closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. He uses his experience to motivate his team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home. Lal is committed to promoting individual choice for Residents, allowing them to feel empowered.


He also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Admirals Reach.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Lal remarked:


“Seeing Residents smiling and knowing that as a team we are making a difference to their lives.”


In his spare time, Lal enjoys playing badminton, travelling to exciting destinations and spending quality time with his family.
