Mum cannot do anything for herself and at night she presses the buzzer and no one comes for the buzzer has been unplugged. I have also seen the buzzer unplugged on many occasions.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Admirals Reach Care HomeThank you for your review; we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. I am sorry you feel the call bell system has not been satisfactory, but please be reassured that two staff members do documented checks on the call bell both day and night. The management team and person in charge of the unit also do spot checks; having reviewed the call bell print out for April and May I am satisfied staff attended your Mother promptly on all occasions. We will, of course, continue to monitor this; the happiness and wellbeing of all our Residents is of paramount importance to us.

All staff helpful and friendly. When I have need to telephone they have reassured me. Dad says food is ok and they do help him to dress. Thank you. They do keep his washing up to date which is good too.

This is a very good care home. The staff (at all levels) are fantastic. I am always welcomed and they give excellent care to my mother who has advanced dementia. My mother has been in the care home for nearly 18 months and the service is always first class.

So far, care is good. Staff are good to talk to, very welcoming. They call when needed (promptly).
Our relative fell from bed and was sent to A & E for checking.
The doctor was called when needed.
I have seen much worse places than Admirals Reach.
Thank you.

Overall very pleased with the care Mum receives. We feel Mum is as good as she can be. The staff are very friendly and have a good rapport with all residents. Staff do seem to have too much paperwork to do and it would be good if they were free of it to offer more care and communication to residents.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Care Advisor at Admirals Reach Care HomeThank you for your kind comments regarding the care of your Mother and the Staff at the Home. The Nurses and carers have a legal responsibility to complete their records on each shift to ensure the safety of our Residents and themselves. I can, however, reassure you that we have the correct staffing on each unit.

It is about independence - that 's the first impression and they help in maintaining your own standards just like home. This is what is highly inviting. Yes, independence that's the key - remarks can tell you this and by walking around the premises what do you see? Everyone doing their own thing all
inspired by dreams of their own by making one big company. There you have it, independence in your hands.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.667)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.667) out of 10 for Admirals Reach Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 84 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 83 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.667 for Admirals Reach Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (706 Excellents x 5) + (272 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 997 Ratings = 4.667
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Admirals Reach Care Home is based on 83 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 158 registered maximum number of service users is 31.6, which has been reached with 83 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
