Ashlar House Care Home is a very well-run and managed home and our family member is extremely settled and comfortable. The carers are all very professional and caring and there when needed. It can't be easy looking after people who have problems and we as a family have always found everyone very compassionate, caring and kind. Well done to everyone and keep up the good work. I would 100% recommend Ashar House if anyone is looking for long-term care for loved ones.

I couldn't be more appreciative of the staff. So helpful, patient, hardworking and caring and always has time for the families. The manager, despite her heavy workload, will always give her time and does a great job. The nurses are fantastic and the rest of the care staff are pure gold. I am so grateful that they take such good care of my mum.

Ashlar House Care Home is a perfect place for my father. The home is spotlessly clean and tidy. The staff are friendly, helpful and professional. We love the home-from-home atmosphere and the thought that is put into my father's and other residents' needs is outstandingly good.

All staff, from cleaners, carers and medical, were so kind and friendly, which made the home so welcoming and safe. There was always someone around to talk to. The resident and their family have no hesitation to use this home again.

In my opinion, Ashlar House is very well run by its excellent manager. She pays as much attention to the relative's well-being as to the patient himself. The staff are all friendly and helpful without exception and arranged a lovely Valentine's Day special lunch for my husband and myself and the other couples.

My wife has Alzheimer's and is now immobile following a catastrophic fall at home and many weeks in the hospital, becoming increasingly morose.
I was very relieved when Ashlar House Care Home agreed to accept her as a long-term resident. She had 2 respite stays there previously, so I know how good it is. Just how good, I've now discovered. When you enter Ashlar House Care Home you feel surrounded by warmth and not just the temperature! I immediately felt at home, warmly and inclusively welcomed.
The managers and staff are amazing. Managers' doors are always open. And if you need anything, there's always a staff member close by. Chefs, cleaners, carers, nurses, whatever you want, ask anyone and they'll fix it. It's my belief that these kind and positive attitudes are the basic elements that explain why Ashlar House Care Home is so outstandingly good and why my wife is now smiling a lot and is so much happier than she's been for a long time.

If you're looking for a care home in the Epping area, look no further.

Our first visit to our Great Aunt and we were made to feel welcome. It was obvious our Great Aunt was well cared for. She was chatted too affectionately and had a steady supply of drinks bought through to her. The photographs taken and printed as a memento from our visit was an unexpected and thoughtful touch. Our Great Aunt expressed that she was happy in the home - high praise!

Our 93yo Mum moved to Ashlar House in June 22 from another Essex care home where she had been discharged for assessment, from hospital. Whilst she was cared for to an extent, it was not meeting either mum's needs and expectations, so she asked us to move her. This was the best move we could have made! Ashlar is just lovely, and exactly what the whole family had envisaged 'Residential Care' should be. There is an atmosphere of calm professionalism, understanding, and care all within the beautifully decorated rooms, the dining/sitting room, etc and all of the staff are so friendly, kind and respectful, whilst providing the best possible care they can. Mum is truly happy to be there and enjoys everything about the care, the staff, facilities, meal times, and enrichment opportunities.

Personally, I could not recommend Ashlar more, and I would encourage anyone researching care for relatives or themselves, to visit Ashlar and meet the staff, and view the facilities.

Mum moved to Ashlar House in late June and took just minutes to settle right in. She loves everything about the place. The caring helpful and thoughtful staff who meet all of her everyday needs, chefs, and housekeeping make her ask herself constantly why at 93 years old she waited so long to find this wonderful place. To entertainment staff who make her feel younger and more alive than she had in many many years!

Ashlar House meets not just mums needs but the whole family's needs. We know she’s in safe caring hands and they keep us fully informed of everything we need to know. The nursing staff monitors her health daily and liaise with the local doctors to proved excellent care and we are never more than a phone call away day or night. We can’t thank the staff enough for making our mum so happy and content thank you all at Ashlar House!

Our first experience in February was a good positive experience, our second experience in April was quite different!
Nobody to meet and greet my husband.
His room was not prepared (wheelchairs stored)! He was not bathed in 4 days, only the toothpaste was used from his washbag. I had no report of how my husband had eaten, slept etc.

On picking him up he was asleep in a chair and giving us his tablets.

My mother is being well cared for and all the staff are helpful and kind. The care home made a huge effort to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, tables outside in the sunshine on Friday 3rd June 2022. There was a band, balloons, a barbecue, face painting and lots of the residents family members attended. Everyone had fun and the residents enjoyed singing and clapping along to the music and eating ice creams from the visiting ice cream van.

My dad has been a resident for a short period, but I must say, the love, support and care have been of the richer scale. The home is spotlessly clean, as clean and nice as a five-star hotel. I must thank the manager and her staff for going above and beyond for me and my mum; we can't thank you enough.
