Mum moved to Ashlar House in late June and took just minutes to settle right in. She loves everything about the place. The caring helpful and thoughtful staff who meet all of her everyday needs, chefs, and housekeeping make her ask herself constantly why at 93 years old she waited so long to find this
wonderful place. To entertainment staff who make her feel younger and more alive than she had in many many years!
Ashlar House meets not just mums needs but the whole family's needs. We know she’s in safe caring hands and they keep us fully informed of everything we need to know. The nursing staff monitors her health daily and liaise with the local doctors to proved excellent care and we are never more than a phone call away day or night. We can’t thank the staff enough for making our mum so happy and content thank you all at Ashlar House!

Our first experience in February was a good positive experience, our second experience in April was quite different!
Nobody to meet and greet my husband.
His room was not prepared (wheelchairs stored)! He was not bathed in 4 days, only the toothpaste was used from his washbag. I had no report of
how my husband had eaten, slept etc.
On picking him up he was asleep in a chair and giving us his tablets.

Lovely staff who really care for the residents. They treat them like family.
If my parents were still alive and needing of the care that is offered at Ashlar House I would be extremely happy for them to be residents.

My mother is being well cared for and all the staff are helpful and kind. The care home made a huge effort to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, tables outside in the sunshine on Friday 3rd June 2022. There was a band, balloons, a barbecue, face painting and lots of the residents family members
attended. Everyone had fun and the residents enjoyed singing and clapping along to the music and eating ice creams from the visiting ice cream van.

My dad has been a resident for a short period, but I must say, the love, support and care have been of the richer scale. The home is spotlessly clean, as clean and nice as a five-star hotel. I must thank the manager and her staff for going above and beyond for me and my mum; we can't thank you enough.

I came here with a little trepidation as I was not looking forward to seeing her in a care home. I needn't have worried. I was treated with warmth but the administration office and taken around to see the facilities. When I was taken to see my friend, her broad grin showed me how very happy she is,
and the lunch that was delivered to her looked delicious. I am leaving her feeling much more at peace and knowing she has come to the right place. Wonderful!

Exceptional home - recently modernised to a high standard.
My mum has been at Ashlar for 4-years, during which time, she has had excellent care. The staff are all friendly and professional and show genuine love for all the residents.
I have never worried about Mum and am fully entrusted in the home's
care for her.
The end of life care my mum recieved was above and beyond, and I will be forever grateful for that.
Highly recommend Ashlar.

My father in law has been at Ashlar House for 2-months now. It is a lovely home, clean with great facilities. But the staff really make it special. They are so caring to the residents and their families! There are so many great activities to keep the residents occupied and motivated. They inspire a

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Ashlar House for about 3 weeks. Everyone at the home is so friendly and welcoming there’s a lovely refreshments area for visitors as you enter which in itself makes you feel part of the home. My mother-in-law loves the entertainment and the courtyard garden is
her favourite place to sit. It is well maintained clean and tidy the lounges feel homely with a boutique hotel feel. She is starting to settle and seems genuinely pleased to see and have time with the staff who take great care of her.

The care home is in a restful location. The home has a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are professional, friendly, approachable and had a welcome hot drink.
The individual accommodation seen is compact yet spacious, uncluttered and clean.
We were able to spend an unhurried visit with the resident.

My father who was suffering from Alzheimer's had been cared for at Ashlar's House in Epping for several years. The level of care that he received there was excellent and the staff not only had his interests at heart but those of the resident's relatives too.
Hygiene was of the highest level and COVID
provisions were put in place quickly and effectively, including a large windowed visiting room for isolation visits. Amazing!

Fantastic service from start to finish. From the moment my father arrived, they took care of everything. Lovely and clean, beautiful room looking out over the woods, and the staff were absolutely brilliant. I cannot speak highly enough about the fantastic staff - would definitely recommend. 10 out of

My husband now needs 24-hour nursing care, which I was unable to provide at home, even with a visit from two carers - four times a day. He has settled well into Ashlar House and responds positively to the staff. The staff are also very helpful to me, and my sons are also happy with their father's care
and surroundings.

Where do I start? What an amazing place. From the staff to the facilities I knew my nan was in the safest hands possible, nothing was ever too much. Even when looking after my nan they always checked on her and me. The staff always took the time to talk to me and reassure me. You should be very proud
of your staff.

Head Chef is the best job in the world and Ashlar House is the best care home in the world, so I am able to enjoy every day. As Head Chef I lead the kitchen team to provide delicious and nutritious meals, as well as a tasty array of cakes each day!


I meet with all new residents to find out what they like and dislike, and I also work closely with the care teams to ensure I am supporting the resident's health, diet and nutrition on an individual basis.


At mealtimes you will find me in the dining rooms, chatting with residents and managing the dining experience. I am always interested in feedback and looking to exceed resident expectations. I particularly love supporting the Activities Team with food related activities, especially Pudding Club!
