my mum has been a resident for almost 4 years, to start it was horrendous watching her scream and shout etc but the staff were so understand, caring and patient not only with my mum but also supporting myself and have continued to do so, everytime i visit regardless what time of day, the house is always spotless and even the cleaning staff know the residents names and ive seen how they interact with them which is lovely, all the staff are happy, they keep me informed and upto date with any issues, if ive had a particular bad visit i get a call later letting me know she has settled and js ok, and i cant put into words how comforting that is, when i leave i always thank the staff, anyway i cant thank you all enough for what you do.

My wife's mum moved into Godden Lodge a few months ago following a downward trend with her health and general care. As with all families we experienced much sadness with this situation. However from day one the staff at Godden Lodge have made her stay incredibly welcoming and she is now happily settled in to the routine of care home living! We cannot thank enough the team that look after her needs, and are amazed at the everyday efforts that are made to entertain her and fellow residents. She is loving the excellent food (especially deserts) the kindness and the secure feeling of this new home. We too enjoy visiting and on her recent 94th birthday along with some musical friends of ours the Lodge hosted a lovely party that went off superbly! We are so grateful to you all for being so good at your caring and making the residents so comfortable at Godden Lodge. We look forward to a long and happy relationship with you all. Roger & Cheryl

My mother has lived in the home for just over two years. Initially, it was a struggle. She had been used to living on her own with the help of carers. Once she had settled in to her new surroundings things have been good.

All the staff, I have contact with, that includes carers, activities and cleaners are wonderful.

My dad well cared for by staff always clean and smart and looks comfortable. The food is well presented and good portions although my dad has puree food. The staff are very friendly and helpful and offer us a cup of tea. The rooms are kept very clean and presentable. My dad has a very good view of the gardens which makes him smile a lot, most of the rooms have this. A lovely care home.

Staff are caring, kind, friendly and attentive even when under pressure.
The meals are varied and residents appear to enjoy them.
There are some excellent activities but these don not seem to happen often. The residents could do with more music and stimulation.

The complex and room are clean and tidy.

Since my father arrived he has been welcomed by all the staff into a wonderful family environment. So friendly, helpful, lovely caring people. Dad was pampered and made to feel so very comfortable in the few days he had. Dad told me he was so happy, warm and the cup of coffee he had was beautiful. Dad was grateful to be in such a lovely caring nursing home with amazing wonderful nurses and carers. Thank you all so very much x

My mother was end of life, palliative care when she was transferred to Godden Lodge Cephus ward. Although fairly independent at the time, she became more and more unwell. The team at Cephus and the care home manager couldn't have been more caring. They arranged for an early birthday party for her and went over and beyond in making sure her ending was as comfortable and dignified as is possible. Thank you Cephus.

From the moment my mum was settled into Godden Lodge, myself and the family felt that Mum would be safe and happy there, which was a huge relief. All the staff were caring and kind and Mum told us frequently how happy she was and that the staff really cared for her. We always felt very welcome to visit anytime and Mum loved it when we brought our dog to visit her too! Anytime we had any worries or concerns the staff always were happy to discuss things and take any necessary action. I often thought if I ever needed 24-hour care I could be so happy there, as Mum was until she peacefully passed away.

It was my mum's birthday and the staff gave my mum a cake with candles on it, sang happy birthday and took some pictures. One of the pictures is on the notice board, that was brilliant. I didn't ask them to do it, so that made it even more special, not only for Mum but for me as well. A massive thank you to all the staff. Mum has favourites but they change each time I see her, so to me, that shows how brilliant each one is with my mum. Thank you.
