Mum has been looked after well since coming to Godden Lodge. Her health and well being has been looked after extremely well, and she has become more outgoing and content in her physio sessions and rehabilitation. She's eaten more and putting on weight which enables her the strength to recover her mobility.
The lovely ladies who look after mum are really happy to help mum in any way she needs with a good sense of humour.

The staff are amazing they are so caring and personable, they really do look after my grandmother. They take the time to get to know me as well when they are so extremely busy. I couldn't ask for a better home for my grandmother to be in.

Mum seems happy enough apart from the dinners. She likes the staff and has made some friends with other residents.

My mum was in Godden Lodge for 7 months, the care, love and attention she got from all the staff was outstanding.
The manager of Godden Lodge went beyond more than I could wish for.
I would strongly recommend the home to anyone.

Mum has been very well cared for.
However, I have had cause to wonder if 1 extra staff member during the night would be appropriate. 2 members of staff on the night shift is fine until a resident falls and an ambulance is required.
The quality of bedding and the bedroom furniture needs updating.
The
menu needs looking at and reviewing with better quality food and more interesting meals. Some residents clearly struggle with cutlery.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Godden Lodge Care HomeThank you for your kind words and identifying some areas of improvement for consideration, we value your input and comments. We are constantly reviewing and planning to ensure we are providing a quality service and kind care to our residents at Godden Lodge, we will use your words constructively to support improvements. I understand that you have recently had contact from the Deputy Home Manager in relation to the care of your mother. If there are any further concerns please do not hesitate contact to the Home Manager or Deputy Manager again.

I have found my father's care to be satisfactory. There have been a few occasions where I feel they could be better staffed (more carers) however, they do their best.

We constantly review our staffing levels to ensure that we can consistently meet the needs of all our residents. We welcome all feedback and use such feedback to continuously improve our services.

I have been looked after quite well and have been here 3 and a half years. Food could be better - tastier and is rather boring.
No real activities take place - but games are available if interested. Rooms are nice but could be slightly bigger. General care is reasonable, Doctors are on call if required.
Carers are trained and on the whole, can be trusted to do their best to help you. Senior staff are helpful. I live a reasonably content life and am relaxed about my care.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Godden Lodge Care HomeThank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the care you are receiving at Godden lodge, we have taken your comments on board and will explore the menu choice and the activity timetable with our designated colleagues. We will ensure that staff receive your positive feedback with regards to their performance and support, in particular, the senior staff. We always welcome feedback so we can continuously improve our services.

Our relatives arrived four days ago and they say the staff are lovely and they are enjoying the food. Although it is a big adjustment from their own home I believe every member of staff is doing their best to make them feel comfortable and welcome.

Sadly our activities lady left and at the moment it's more difficult for activities or entertainment for the people.
Also another idea, perhaps a laundry basket for unwashed clothes.
Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Godden Lodge Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your kind comments of your experience of Godden Lodge. I would like to assure you that whilst we are currently recruiting for a wellbeing co-coordinator we have already appointed an acting wellbeing co-ordinator who has commenced in post. We do have laundry collected from Residents rooms throughout the day which is washed and returned generally within 24 hours but we thank you for your valued comments.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.462)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.462) out of 10 for Godden Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.462 for Godden Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (252 Excellents x 5) + (94 Goods x 4) + (31 Satisfactorys x 3) + (5 Poors x 2) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 392 Ratings = 4.462
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Godden Lodge Care Home is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 133 registered maximum number of service users is 26.6, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
