Mum has only been here for four days, already noticing a change for the better - eating better and seems more active. The staff are very friendly and attentive.

Happy with the care and support for our mum. Encouraging our mum to mobilise. Mum settled very well and is happy being here. The staff are always on hand for help.

Dad has been very well looked after since his arrival at Godden Lodge. He can be difficult but all the staff display patience and a caring attitude. The interaction I have seen between them and my dad is really positive and it is lovely to see him smile with them. He even told me he liked the home today, which is something he doesn't say in his own home.

Some excellent care is provided by individual members of staff but on a corporate level I have the impression that HC-one does not provide adequate support and evidence of a functioning organisational structure is scant.

My mother has had a very difficult year due to the loss of her son very suddenly. The staff in Victoria House have been very understanding and done their best to help my mum with the stress and anxiety of losing her son. They have sat with her all night as she's been having hallucinations. I can not praise them enough.

Mum has been in the home for 3 years now and is happy with the care she is receiving as we are too. The staff are very friendly and attentive to mum's needs. Access to wi-fi has been a real lifeline for her so she is able to keep in constant communication with her family using a tablet.

Dad is extremely happy here which is the prime concern. I have always found the staff to be kind, caring and professional. The precautions in place during this pandemic are first class and I can relax knowing he is being cared for as he should be.

Friendly, polite and competent staff. Caring towards my family relation so that her needs are met emotionally during this difficult time, both as a respect of Covid and the loss of a close family member, which helps the family feel reassured. In terms of systems in place - professional so that it reduces transmissions.

My mother has been at Godden Lodge for 2 1/2 years and seems to be quite happy there. She likes to be in the main lounge for most of the day, returning to her room for tea. Mum's hearing is very bad which prevents her from joining in to a certain extent. She has enjoyed some craft activities in her own way. Obviously, we haven't had much physical contact but staff are very willing to keep in contact with the family if needed.

Since my dear mum has been in Boyce House and now moved to Copins House I have seen a very steady improvement in her mental ability and awareness. When she first came to Godden Lodge I did not think she had got long to live but due to Godden Lodge's excellent care and ability, I am now glad to say I think she has a very reasonable chance of surviving a little longer. This is thanks to the excellent care and staff on the nursing side and general care staff. Many thanks to Godden Lodge staff.

I cannot find any fault with the care given to Mum by the wonderful team. They see to her every need, going beyond with painting her nails, etc. During the very difficult lockdown, they have kept us informed of her health at every step, and every request is dealt with and never too much trouble, particularly answering her Ipad for facetime by her vast family! They are all so caring but remain professional. I cannot praise highly enough.

All the staff have been kind, helpful and supportive over the last eight months. Any concerns regarding my father's care have been listened to and acted on accordingly. However, given that the home was chosen based on my father's needs, I do feel that his rehabilitation has been slower than expected. This is not a criticism of the staff! I feel it has more to do with a lack of facilities for severe stroke patients. My father is unable to leave his bed as a result.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write to us and compliment us on our home and the staff. We note your comments regarding your fathers rehabilitation and welcome the opportunity to explore this further with you. Please do contact the home and arrange a meeting with the management team....

Can’t say enough to these girls that look after Mum, we’ve had a few scares with her just lately and I honestly do not know how I would have coped without their help and their loving care for Mum and kind words they say to make me feel calmer.
I really could not have chosen a better place for her.

Thank you all so much for what you continue to do for Mum and our family.
