We have been happy with my mother in law's care and feel confident she is looked after properly. The food and drink is of a good standard and variety.

Well what can I say about the care my Grandad received from the staff at Godden Lodge, not only were they amazing for the care they gave my grandad they made him feel at home and treated him like family. They went out of their way for him, he even had a few favourites (they will know who they are) but when they go and visit someone on their day off and take their kids as well sometimes that just shows you that it's not always just a job to them, they treat and care for them just the way we do for our loved ones and that's all we ever want. It's hard to make a decision for someone to go in a home let alone find the right one that's best for them but we did and my family cannot thank the staff enough for everything they have done for my grandad. A massive thank you to all staff who helped my grandad when he was in pain - you made his final days for him as painless and comfy as he could. You're all amazing.

Earlier in February Mum had a fall and broke her hip. The staff called the paramedics immediately and contacted me to explain what had happened. Since her return from hospital after surgery her care has been excellent. The staff help her to get up every day. They encourage her to eat even though she is reluctant and she always appears happy and comfortable.

I have taken a while to settle but I have only been here about 6 weeks. The staff all have a good laugh with me. I am not very keen on the food but if you ask for something different they get it for me. The desserts are good. The room needs decorating and furniture is tired and needs update. Everywhere is kept clean.

My mum will be 103 years old on 17/3/2018. She has been resident in Godden Lodge since she was 95 in 2010. Mum suffers from vascular dementia which has got steadily worse along with her mobility which is now non-existent apart from the use of her hands and facial expressions. Mum needs help with all daily tasks and personal care needs and her very limited ability to feed herself. The care team are truly excellent and I can't praise them enough. Mum is in no distress and still enjoys a laugh and the company of her visitors and the staff. I'm pleased she can see out her days in such a lovely and caring environment.

Staff very friendly and easy to talk to. Any concerns dealt with. Great communication from seniors.
Mum's always clean and tidy, her room always looks nice.
The food is very good, Mum enjoys it all.

The only complaint is lost teeth and wheelchair. The bedroom furniture is tatty, the bed is excellent.

Staff are very friendly and helpful as my mum has been here 3 years. They have got to know how my mum can be good and bad days. They help him as much as possible. I am here most days and I feel part of the furniture. Her bedroom has just been decorated and she is comfortable and my dad is just as happy.

Mum has been a resident of Godden Lodge for over 3 years. She has always been treated well and looked after. The staff always smile and are attentive to her needs. Over the period of her stay, unfortunately, her condition has worsened. However, the care she needs has increased and the staff always ensure she is comfortable.

All the staff are very helpful and caring, food is very good, medical attention always on hand. The only criticism is not enough activities to keep Mum busy. Change of clothing adequate.

The care my husband has is excellent, the staff are so caring when I visit which is every day, it's like a big family unit. There are always smiles and laughter. Obviously, some residents can be very challenging and they are always treated with dignity. I would recommend this house to everyone. The care and love is boundless.

Every day I'm so thankful that I found a place for my husband in Godden Lodge. He is very well cared for, the staff are kind and caring and I know he is safe, I visit every day at different times, my grandson loves visiting their grandad and is always made welcome. I take our pet dog which the other residents and staff love. I would not hesitate to recommend Godden Lodge to anyone. It is my second home.

Overall Experience
Our mum arrived at Cephas House extremely anxious having been given only months to live. We too were deeply concerned about making sure we found the right place for her to get the high level of nursing care she needed.
Mum was immediately reassured, she began to settle quickly. After a couple of days, she was mixing with other residents and sitting at the dining table for her meals. With encouragement, she continued to participate in the many fun and well-organised activities.
As her needs increased her level of care was continually reassessed and adjusted. This enabled her to maintain as much independence as was possible.
Unfortunately, she was only there for 9 weeks and her passing was comfortable and dignified. The support we as a family received was exceptional.

If you have a relative who needs nursing/palliative care and you need support from the management through to domestic help you won't find better than these superb, caring, funny, uplifting people.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our condolences. Thank you for your review. It is so nice to know that the last few weeks of your mum's life were made as happy as possible and that she did manage to take part in things. I'm sure knowing that she was cared for so well gave you peace of mind.
