This home is a caring environment. Recently changed management has turned this place around. Staff care for the residents and there is good interaction, food is good and constant supply of tea, snacks, etc. Staff always provide a warm welcome and any issues are dealt with immediately. I would recommend
this home.

We are so reassured that Dad is being looked after at Godden Lodge. Dad is very well cared for and treated like family. Dad is always kept clean and they look after his specialised needs so well. My father-in-law is safe here and treated with dignity and respect. The family are encouraged to make themselves at home too and are always offered a drink. We are happy he is here.

Extremely dissatisfied, have moved my relative to another care home. Many concerns, including care staff, management, care records, over-reliance on agency staff and lack of staff, particularly one nurse only in the unit and that often being ad hoc agency nurse.

My mother resided at Godden Lodge for 18 months. Firstly, I do want to praise the carers on Boyce Unit who cared for my mother well during her residency and were very kind after she passed away, hence the 3 stars. However, the last few days of her life were not to the same standard of care. I spent
a great deal of time tracking down nurses and talking to management, who showed no empathy, when I should have been with my mother holding her hand. There were issues with the administration of the prescribed anticipatory medicines, irregular mouth care and a general lack of communication with us regarding my mother’s condition leading up to her passing. This made a very difficult and sad time even harder. I have provided feedback and hope this will help the home make improvements going forward.

Dad was resident at Godden Lodge for the last 2 years of his life, at which point he needed 24-hour nursing care. Without exception, the staff were excellent, kind and considerate. As a family, we feel the CQC judgement was totally unwarranted. Godden Lodge deserves to be rated outstanding!

My brother came to the home and all the staff we had contact with were very helpful and caring. As we live a long way from the home, I made several phone calls and was always given the information needed by really helpful staff, they also rang me if there were any problems. When we visited he was always
clean, dressed and had a drink available. I would like to say thank you to all the staff.

Very welcoming and caring. Dad is settled and loves all the staff. He enjoys the activities and likes to be made a fuss of, which the staff do brilliantly. His room is always clean and tidy and Dad is well groomed.
Godden Lodge is a lovely place and they all do a wonderful job in keeping Dad happy.

The staff here are amazing. They genuinely care and always are kind, empathetic and caring. The residents are lucky to have them. The events/activities are also amazing and really brighten up the day.

My Grandad was admitted to Godden Lodge for palliative care following a long hospital stay. He was incredibly hesitant to go to a care home environment having been very independent his whole life but within days he felt right at home and was friendly with all the staff.
I can’t thank the staff on
the Cephas unit enough for the kind and compassionate support they gave to my Grandad and our family in a difficult time. For his last few weeks, my Grandad finally had his smile and personality back.

Cephas unit cared for my father-in-law. The staff were friendly and caring and really got to know him well. We were always greeted by staff who were always smiling and there were plenty of them each day. Communication was excellent to my wife who visited every day and I have nothing but praise for the
care they gave. It was just a shame my father-in-law's time there wasn't longer.

My dad was moved to Godden Lodge for palliative care. He was so happy to be supported in lovely surroundings by wonderful and cheerful staff. There is so much care and compassion and the team supported my dad, myself and my family through a very difficult time. My dad passed away pain-free and with
