Hatfield Peverel Care Home

I, and the family can't thank to staff enough for the love, care and attention that the staff give to him to make his life easier.

One of the worst care homes I have ever been to. My nan was here for around three months and when I went there it was a terrible circus! The staff are useless. We went to visit my nan and we had to ask the staff four times to get her a drink of water as she was thirsty!

If you care about your loved ones, please please don't send them to this awful place!

I could not be more grateful to all the staff. My mum was very poorly. They have treated her with dignity and care and now she is back to being somewhere near her old self.

I have been happy here, I feel cared for and I have made friends. I would not change anything.

Mum has now been in Hatfield Lodge for 5 weeks, so far she has settled very well. She has had her bad days but the staff are very good with her. They encourage mum out of her room to mix with other people. I cannot fault this home. It could do with some tender loving care, a lick of paint, etc.

Excellent staff - everyone is so friendly and they looked after our dad to the very end and he loved them all!

I have been so impressed with how this care home has coped with Coronavirus and kept the residents safe with their dedicated love and care for everyone.

All the staff are friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. Mum loves it there, she was at two other homes before, and this one knocks spots off them. All the staff are lovely. I can't wish for a better place for Mum.

As soon as I walked into this care home I felt the empathy, the genuine care and thoughtfulness towards achieving the security and structure that we all need. During my stay here my life-long mantra that people matter has been justified. Without exception the staff are superb, carers, nurses, domestic, kitchen and gardening, are always available and willing to alleviate any concerns and needs. They care for us in many different ways and should be commended for carrying this out to the maximum effort during the Covid-19 crisis. I recommend you try it.

The care home itself always seems to strive to improve both its support to residents and its facilities, and during the recent lockdown, I have every faith in how my husband is being cared for.

Throughout my father's stay ay Hatfield Peverel Lodge he received excellent care - nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Management, nurses and carers alike ensured he was comfortable, clean and contented. They made his life truly happy ensured he was engaged in activities - both in his room and in communal areas.

People will always make time for you. The food has been disappointing. (Temp chef)

I would definitely recommend 'The Mallard'. As a family, we really can’t thank the staff enough, for how they looked after our Dad, and made his time with them, as pleasant and as comfortable (pain-free) as possible. The caring staff were amazing but equally so were the whole team from the cleaner to the laundry lady, to the admin and management staff. The staff work so well together and have such a caring, kind and helpful way with all the residents – which at times can be challenging, but despite this, they always helped the residents in a sympathetic and professional way. I think it’s the staff that make a great care home and that’s why I would recommend this home. They always made us feel welcome, whatever time of day we turned up. The Nurses always phoned if there were any slight changes in Dad’s health and during the time my Dad was there, it was always the same care staff and nursing team (ie no staff turnover) - continuity is very important for the residents and was important for us as a family. We owe the staff at 'The Mallard' a massive thank you.

Very professionally run by very caring people. All the staff are very attentive to the residents and their visiting family. There is a happy and friendly atmosphere throughout all parts of the home which is well kept.

Very homely home.

However I do feel that more staff are needed as the staff you have are really good, they never seem to have any time to talk and are called away if they do. Also waiting to be let in and out can take time and I have to go and find someone for this.

Also, management have still not dealt with the gazebo at Mallard so residents cannot sit outside. Kingfisher have a permanent one, also complained still not dealt with regarding fan in lounge only one out of the three bulbs ever seems to work.

Staff always get in touch promptly if there are any issues with my mother's well being. The care home manager attends my mother's reviews by the local authority, which removes a lot of the ambiguity of these visits. Generally, I am very pleased with the choice of care home for my mother. It gives me a lot of peace of mind to know she is well cared for.

We saw such an improvement in my relatives health and well-being while at the home. His walking improved and a close attention to diet improved his weight to a healthier level. All credit to the management and team of carers and nurses who have helped him in his on going recovery from hospitalisation.
