Overall, very happy with the care that my mum is receiving. It has been such a hard 9-months during the pandemic. The face to face visits are going really well, and it's so lovely to be able to hold Mums hand. The staff are all so caring and loving towards my mum, and she seems settled. We are so looking
forward to the home helpfully being able to open up more.

I have just had my first indoor visit after a year with my beautiful 84-year-old mum, who has vascular dementia. The Oaks team were absolutely amazing and professional. They made the visit so lovely, and everything from the testing to the actual visit was done with such precision, and nothing was too
much trouble. My mum looked amazing. She was immaculately dressed and looked as fresh as a daisy. She was laughing and joking and was so happy to see me. I have never seen her so content. The Oaks Team were absolutely amazing as always, and they are a credit to their profession. I have been constantly updated on my mum's progress throughout the pandemic, and nothing is too much trouble for The Oaks Team. This first visit has made my year, and knowing that my mum is being so well cared for is brilliant. The Oaks Team are amazing people and truly care for their residents. I would recommend The Oaks Care Home to anybody, as we, as a family, could not ask for more. Well done to them all.

Throughout my mother’s care, we have been reassured by the level of service and care offered by this home. All staff are approachable and understanding. During a recent scare with my mother's health, the team dealt with it swiftly keeping us informed of the situation and following up accordingly.

The Oaks Care Home is a perfect place for residential care. The staff are excellent, and the home is comfortable, and residents are made to feel at home. The gardens are lovely for the residents and visitors, plus the food is excellent. Staff can not do enough for the residents.

I have found The Oaks Care Home staff to be nothing less than amazing, caring, supportive and attentive.
The facilities are always clean, organised and calm.
We have found the home isn't just supportive of the residents but of the family also which I have found a huge comfort during such a difficult

For the short time my dear mum was at The Oaks, she was cared for and made comfortable, and received the best palliative care possible. We as a family were lucky enough to be informed of Mum's imminent passing and were with her holding her hand as she slipped peacefully away. Thank you to all the staff,

Friendly and caring staff. Always clean and well presented. Activities for residents are varied and enjoyable. Good wide range of meals served in a very nice dining room. Separate areas for activities and meeting friends/family.

Overall very happy with the care and help mum receives. Would prefer that she had more frequent baths/showers and hair washes (sometimes this only occurs about once a month) but believe she does sometimes decline when these are offered. Her 'special diet' had become quite limited and 'boring' but this
was addressed once I raised the matter. Disappointing that she is sometimes wearing other residents clothes - especially since all hers are carefully labelled.

I recently visited a very close friend in The Oaks Care Home in Colchester. I have to say that from the minute I stepped in, the welcome was warm and friendly, as were all the staff. The home itself is lovely and clean with good facilities for residents and guests. My friend informs me that they have
a hairdresser and lots of different activities from arts and crafts to outside entertainers coming in. I would definitely stay here myself.

The staff were very, very helpful throughout my dad's stay in the care home. He was treated very well by all the staff on site. I would like to especially give praise towards the nurses on duty, both day and night. All the staff at the home were beyond reproach, polite and courteous.

My father spent his final 8 days as a resident at The Oaks Care Home. As a carer in the community, I found all the staff in her caring, thoughtful and hard-working. The nurses showed compassion and thoughtfulness as my father's health declined. They gave the whole family time and privacy to say their
farewells. The staff were amazing and we can't thank them enough.

My mother-in-law received the most excellent care at The Oaks Care Home. All the staff we met, whatever their role, were outstandingly cheerful, kind, helpful, professional. The care staff and nurses gave a very high standard of care delivered with great professionalism and compassion. Their care also

The staff at The Oaks Care Home have been brilliant and my first thing to say is if you need care for a relative to come here. Mum was here for over 6 months. The standard of holistic timely led wrap around care was extremely high. The staff were full of compassion, not just carers the manager is gentle,
kind and very responsive as well as supportive. Catering is excellent whatever mum fancied eating they made it for her. Cleanliness to a high standard. Mums end of life was made bearable and dignified. Thank you.

In January, my husband went into The Oaks Care Home and from the very first day, I could have not wished for a better care home. The nurses, carers and the manager could not make you more welcome and that has never changed every day they care exactly the same for you. Also, the meals are excellent.
Made by a top-class chef, every meal is cooked and served with perfection.

For me, the most important considerations for selecting a care home for my mother were the quality and personality of staff members followed by the standard of accommodation and facilities available.
From the first meeting, I was impressed by the manager's breadth of knowledge about care for the elderly
and the kindness and compassion shown for residents. The manager has assembled a body of staff that are well qualified and treat my mother with respect, good humour and gentleness.
The atmosphere in the care home is bright and cheerful and there is a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. The food is good and the range of activities available to residents is very varied and interesting.
My mother's room is sunny and looks out over a lovely, well-landscaped garden. The communal television, activities and coffee rooms are excellent.
My mother has made several new friends and her life has been greatly improved. The staff are good at monitoring my mother's health and will call her GP if there is any concern. The weight of concern I had for my mother living alone has been removed and I have confidence that her wellbeing and security are in good hands.

My brother moved into The Oaks from a care home in London on July 20th 2018. He has MS and dementia.
Thankfully he is not distressed by the move - or his surroundings and has settled in in the month that he has been there.
Huge praise and gratitude to all staff that are involved in his care. He is
being treated with dignity, something that very rarely happened at his previous home.
I've seen many improvements in him, even down to basic care. The staff CARE and whilst it's only a small word, it means many things.
