My father spent his final 8 days as a resident at The Oaks Care Home. As a carer in the community, I found all the staff in her caring, thoughtful and hard-working. The nurses showed compassion and thoughtfulness as my father's health declined. They gave the whole family time and privacy to say their farewells. The staff were amazing and we can't thank them enough.

In the last week of my dad's life, he and us were privileged to be at The Oaks. The staff - fantastic; facilities - perfect and calming. His last days were tranquil and relaxed for both him and his family - all due to the team and their approach and support. THANK YOU.

My mother-in-law received the most excellent care at The Oaks Care Home. All the staff we met, whatever their role, were outstandingly cheerful, kind, helpful, professional. The care staff and nurses gave a very high standard of care delivered with great professionalism and compassion. Their care also extended to visitors and family who were also treated with consideration and kindness.

The staff at The Oaks Care Home have been brilliant and my first thing to say is if you need care for a relative to come here. Mum was here for over 6 months. The standard of holistic timely led wrap around care was extremely high. The staff were full of compassion, not just carers the manager is gentle, kind and very responsive as well as supportive. Catering is excellent whatever mum fancied eating they made it for her. Cleanliness to a high standard. Mums end of life was made bearable and dignified. Thank you.

In January, my husband went into The Oaks Care Home and from the very first day, I could have not wished for a better care home. The nurses, carers and the manager could not make you more welcome and that has never changed every day they care exactly the same for you. Also, the meals are excellent. Made by a top-class chef, every meal is cooked and served with perfection.

For me, the most important considerations for selecting a care home for my mother were the quality and personality of staff members followed by the standard of accommodation and facilities available.
From the first meeting, I was impressed by the manager's breadth of knowledge about care for the elderly and the kindness and compassion shown for residents. The manager has assembled a body of staff that are well qualified and treat my mother with respect, good humour and gentleness.
The atmosphere in the care home is bright and cheerful and there is a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. The food is good and the range of activities available to residents is very varied and interesting.
My mother's room is sunny and looks out over a lovely, well-landscaped garden. The communal television, activities and coffee rooms are excellent.

My mother has made several new friends and her life has been greatly improved. The staff are good at monitoring my mother's health and will call her GP if there is any concern. The weight of concern I had for my mother living alone has been removed and I have confidence that her wellbeing and security are in good hands.

My brother moved into The Oaks from a care home in London on July 20th 2018. He has MS and dementia.
Thankfully he is not distressed by the move - or his surroundings and has settled in in the month that he has been there.
Huge praise and gratitude to all staff that are involved in his care. He is being treated with dignity, something that very rarely happened at his previous home.
I've seen many improvements in him, even down to basic care. The staff CARE and whilst it's only a small word, it means many things.

I'm very happy, thanks to all.

Dad spent the last five weeks of his life at this home. The staff gave him and us the best service possible - caring, professional, kind and friendly.
In a time of great sadness, we all felt supported and also that they were doing their utmost to provide dignified, respectful care for Dad whilst keeping a calm and reassuring manner.

Many thanks - we couldn't have asked for more.

My mother has been resident at the home since May 2016. In the early months, we were not overly impressed with the home. However, since that time, things have changed dramatically for the better. The care given now is excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and caring. The meals are of a high standard and the home has been superbly decorated throughout. At 98 my mother is happy and content and we are tremendously grateful to the staff of the home for their caring support.

We compared The Oaks Care Home to a number of other homes in the area and find them comparable although giving more of a hospital feeling. The rooms are adequate. The staff gave an appearance of always wanting to please but did fall short on some promises. There were problems trying to deal with a very tricky diet due to renal problems.

After my mum being in hospital for 5 weeks on a busy ward, it was absolutely amazing to see her in a place where she is happy. The staff are amazing and very caring. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and my mum is always asked if there is anything she fancies when she feels unwell. It is nice being able to rest at night knowing she is being looked after.

My mum has been here 6 months, she has days when she wants to go home and be like she was before she became ill. Unfortunately, that is not possible. She is well looked after, taken out when possible, taken to appointments and enjoys the activities which she usually does.

My mother only spent a one day as a resident here as we sadly lost her and was on end of life care when she arrived. From the very beginning, all of the staff were nothing less than polite and helpful and above all, thoughtful in their dealings with the family. The room was set up when we arrived and was very welcoming. I asked if I could stay in my mum's room as I knew she didn't have long and not only did they agree but offered me an empty room if needed. The nurses and staff made my mum comfortable every two hours and made me endless cups of tea and gave me a wonderful breakfast of my choice. Even though we didn't experience anything else in the home I would recommend this home without a doubt for its care and kindness. I lost my mum today and want to thank you all for the kindness and care you showed my mum in her last hours and for the comfort you gave to me in the beginning of my long journey in learning to live without my mum.

My mother was in The Oaks for end of life care. The care that was given to my mother was excellent, all the care given was out of this world by all members of staff.

All the staff were very welcoming on arrival. The home was very bright, clean and comfortable for all the residents with beautiful, well-kept gardens. There was also plenty of activities going on to keep everyone active and occupied.
