My husband has been in Rosedale since late February and the care extended to both of us has been exceptional. He enjoys joining in with a lot of the activities and he is happy there.
As he is happy this makes me happy also and makes me believe that it was 100% the best decision I made for both of
us.
I am able to visit every day, at any time, and join in with many of the activities inside the Home. He has also been on trips which he would never have been able to do otherwise which he has really enjoyed.
Overall we can find no faults there. Thank you everyone.
Reply from Sian Jelbart, Manager at Rosedale CourtThank you so much for your wonderful review and for taking the time to share your experience with us.

We are delighted to hear that your husband has settled in so well and is enjoying the activities, trips, and daily life at Rosedale. It means a great deal to our team to know that he feels happy and supported, and that this has given you peace of mind and confidence in your decision.

My mother-in-law went to Rosedale Court for end of life care during April of this year. She was only there for a week but in that time the care she received was second to none. She was treated with compassion, dignity and respect at all times. The staff were equally as kind and accommodating to our
family. We cannot comment too much on the food provided as she never really ate but having said that the meals that we saw looked lovely. We do not hesitate in recommending Rosedale Court.

We are truly honoured that you entrusted us with your mother-in-law's care during such an important and sensitive time. It means a great deal to hear that she was treated with compassion, dignity and respect, and that our team was able to provide support and comfort to both her and your family.
Your feedback will be shared with our staff, who are dedicated to delivering the highest standard of person-centred care. Knowing that their kindness and commitment made a positive difference during a difficult period is incredibly rewarding.
Thank you again for your recommendation and for allowing us to be part of your mother-in-law's journey. We send our sincere condolences and best wishes to you and your family.

My brother was admitted to Rosedale from hospital for "end of life" care. I cannot thank the staff and management in fact everyone I came in contact with enough for their care and kindness they showed to my brother and me and my family during his stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you everyone.

My stepfather has been at Rosedale Court for 6 months now and I've been really impressed with the overall standard of care. He had difficulty settling into his new environment but the staff were brilliant in dealing with the challenges and went to great effort to ensure he was listened to.
When visiting,
I have always found staff really helpful and friendly and the environment is excellent. Regular newsletters keep us informed of events and communication at the home is good.
Thank you for your hard work.

After upsetting experiences at other care homes it was a breath of fresh air when my aunt secured a place at Rosedale. She has complex care needs and is accommodated for so well, nothing is too much trouble. The home is managed excellently and the manager, clinical lead, carers and staff are all very
efficient. In fact my aunt looks the best she has in a long time due to their excellent care and compassion. She has a wonderful patient carer, who is experienced in Neurological illness and has forged a wonderful relationship with my aunt. The activities ladies are angels and put so much effort into providing many regular interesting activities, outings and events. The different themed days that are aimed at residents and their families are amazing. The photos/videos on social media of residents and families enjoying quality time together, having fun and making special memories is truly heart warming. We cannot recommend Rosedale highly enough.
Reply from Sian Jelbart, Manager at Rosedale CourtThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We're truly touched to hear your kind words about your aunt's experience at Rosedale. It means the world to us to know that she feels comfortable, cared for, and supported.

I cannot fault this place. I was sad to see my mum lose her independence, but eventually after a fall at home which resulted in a hip replacement and alongside her dementia my mother was put into respite care and I'm hoping for own safety she stays with Rosedale. The standard of care has been exceptional
and the place is so warm and friendly. The activities are brilliant along with all who attend and work for Rosedale. Thank you all so much, it's been a huge weight lifted from myself and my daughters.

MIL now has advanced dementia & has been a resident of Rosedale since April 22, where she first came for respite. Her wellbeing improved so greatly, it was obvious she needed to be here permanently, whilst she could still enjoy the activities & company of others in a safe environment.
We have always
been happy with the home & her care but have also witnessed the many changes that have made it the place it is today under fantastic leadership with amazing, dedicated staff.
It is a wonderful home, full of warmth, joy and laughter. Management have an open-door policy - always approachable & happy to listen to concerns & welcome suggestions & feedback - whether through regular relatives' meetings or privately.
MIL's dementia journey has been very challenging & the staff have been with us every step of the way in finding ways to support her ever changing behaviours, moods and abilities.
Can't thank them enough for the care & compassion they give at such a vulnerable time in her life.

Absolutely so happy with my brothers care. He has been severely mentally and physically disabled since he was 16 after a traffic accident. My parents cared for him for many years and after my dad died mum found it hard to carry on caring for him alone. He is now 60 and has been at Rosedale court for
2 years. We are so impressed with the quality of care he is receiving. We visit twice a week and can see how happy he is. There is always things going on. Visits from elvis tribute singers which he loves. Bbqs in the homes garden weather permitting which family members can attend. Church services from the local church who come into Rosedale regularly. Trips out to Southend seafront for fish and chip lunches. Loads of other stuff going on in Rosedale. Movie afternoons. Art classes. Cooking cakes, pancakes, local dance groups come in to entertain the residents. Fitness classes. Choir practice. Absolutely amazing home. So happy my brother is so happy there.
Reply from Sian Jelbart, Manager at Rosedale CourtThank you so much for you kind words. Your brother is an amazing character and brings so much joy to the home, i will pass this on to the team.

Our aunt has been a resident at Rosedale Court Rayleigh for just over a year.
We are happy to say she is very well looked after.
All the care staff are friendly, kind, and polite, all go out of their way to try to please her and are very supportive of my sister and I, always willing to help and
advise us.
The home is always spotlessly clean and very well maintained.
All the residents seem happy and enjoy all the activities and entertainment that are there for them.
The management, nurses, care, wellbeing, and cleaning staff are friendly making Rosedale Court a pleasant place to visit.

Dad was sent from Colchester hospital to Rosedale Court Rayleigh, after a fall at home. His dementia has got worse, so it was decided he was to go to Rosedale, as I live in Rayleigh and would be close to visit regularly. We were lucky to get a room. All of the staff show compassion, empathy, and kindness.
Dad has been at Rosedale for 6 months now and this caring, thoughtful attitude has continued. Dad is very sociable, and the activities the home provides give Dad purpose and meaning to his day and above all a laugh. He has a lovely sense of humour, and it is good to see this encouraged. Cant thank the staff enough!

We will never be able to thank the staff of Rosedale Court enough for the care, dedication and empathy they showed to our father Harry. Our dad spent the last 3 weeks as a resident at Rosedale Court everyone from Sandra in the office, to the manager and her team went above and beyond for the care they
showed to my father and to us as a family. The care received was outstanding, nothing was ever too much for the care team this gave us as a family peace of mind 24/7.
Dad passed away Monday morning leading to his passing was a very difficult time for us as a family again the staff at Rosedale not only cared and supported Dad but also us as a family with their compassion and kindness.
Thank you Rosedale Court.

My wife has been a resident at Rosedale Court for seven and a half years. She has very advanced dementia and is receiving end-of-life care. During her time at Rosedale, my wife has received exceptional care and in 2019 her life was saved when staff suspected that she had Sepsis and their swift action
got her the required treatment in time. She is now in the nursing unit and again, this December, her health rapidly deteriorated. Fortunately, the nursing staff diagnosed the situation accurately and acted with urgency and she was admitted to hospital to receive life-saving treatment for sepsis. She is now back at Rosedale Court and is quite stable. I cannot thank the nursing staff enough for all that they have done for my wife during her time at Rosedale Court.

We have visited Mother-in-law for several years of her decline - at 102! Rarely have we seen any distress with any resident - always kindly treated. Appropriate to her mobility and interest, she has been offered seasonal entertainment, we have had photos to share the fun, and some creative activity
attempts! Original and recent staff have welcomed us with some warmth and comments of Mum's "behaviour and moods". We felt Mum has become well known and has had very personally styled care. Many thanks.

My husband was admitted to Rosedale Court in January 2023 with Alzheimer’s and other health issues. At the time, he was admitted on an end-of-life three-month arrangement, and Rosedale happened to have a vacancy. How glad I am that he went to Rosedale. He has had excellent care, the staff are friendly
and helpful, there are numerous activities during each week, and the food seems good. My family and I visit a lot, and we’ve never known him to be anything but clean and comfortable. Rosedale Court itself has a very nice, friendly atmosphere and is really well maintained.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.585)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.585) out of 10 for Rosedale Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.967 for Rosedale Court is calculated as follows: ( (147 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 152 Ratings = 4.967
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.618 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosedale Court is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 82 registered maximum number of service users is 16.4. 13 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.4 = 0.793
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

For me, the happiness and well-being of the residents are always at the forefront of everything I do. Seeing them smile and live a fulfilled life brings me immense joy. Over the past two years with Runwood, I’ve had the privilege of progressing into the role of Home Manager. With many years of experience in care, I previously spent 10 years in the fitness industry, focusing on rehabilitation and promoting the ethos "Movement is Key." Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and love to read in my spare time.
