Over all time Andover Nursing Home has 119 reviews.
The Andover Nursing Home team looked after my father for just over a year, until he sadly passed away this month, June 2026. When choosing a home for my father, I studied the CQC site, and the Outstanding rating of the Andover Nursing Home stood out to me - it is well deserved. The staff are all so friendly and professional, and truly look after their residents like they are part of their extended family. My father arrived after a serious fall and was generally in very low spirits. His time in Andover Nursing home lifted him immeasurably and he so very much enjoyed his time with the staff and other residents. He never failed to mention his lovely ensuite room - something he had never enjoyed before in his life. The Andover Nursing Home made my dad's final months so much more bearable for him, and I will always be grateful for that. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind review, it is very much appreciated and it means so much to our dedicated staff. It was a pleasure to look after your father, he was very much part of our extended family.
Searched for a nursing home for my 98 year old mother. First impressions of Andover Nursing Home on meeting staff were very positive and focused on providing care, which meant a lot to me. Everyone has been easy to deal with, and nothing is too much trouble. Mum has settled quickly and well, she has already said she is very happy at the home. Andover Nursing Home delivers in all aspects of service provision, and most of all, provides excellent care from a superb team.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We are one big team which strives to provide consistent holistic care across every department in the home, positive reviews mean so much to everyone that works in the home, thank you.
When mum passed away suddenly, everyone was very supportive and respectful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review, Mum was an absolute pleasure to care for. Reviews mean so much to all the staff and I will pass on your review to everyone throughout the home.
I would like to submit this review because I am so thrilled by the way in which my mother is looked after since moving into Andover Nursing Home in December! From our initial welcome to the ongoing care, the staff have been nothing short of exemplary. Like many others, my mother had come to the stage in life when she realised she needed to move into a nursing home but it was still a difficult decision to make to leave her home that she has lived in since it was first built! I know it helped that my mother had been a volunteer in this home for a couple of years previously, so this, understandably, made it a little easier. However, the staff have really made her feel welcome, safe, and cared for, which means so much to my brother and myself. Being a sociable person, my mother is delighting in getting to know other residents as well as staff and is always keen to tell me what's been happening since my last visit. In short - THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you so much for your review, such lovely words for our amazing staff. Reviews mean so much to all the staff across the home, its a team effort and I shall pass on your comments to all the staff.
My mum sadly passed away last week, but for more than three years she chose to reside at Andover Nursing Home. Throughout her time here, mum enjoyed all aspects of the home but especially liked the kindness, care and professionalism of all the staff. As a family, we take great comfort that our decision to not admit mum to the hospital, but to leave her settled and looked after by such a fabulous team, was definitely the best thing we could have done. Our sincere thanks to absolutely everyone.
Thank you so much for your review, much appreciated and I will make sure all the staff see your kind words. Thank you.
My dad got to spend his last week here on palliative care after a very short illness and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I'm very grateful for the care and support they gave dad and ourselves in his final days.
Thank you for your review, they mean so much to staff. We strive for excellence and I will pass on your kind thanks to all the staff.
We believed he was suffering with vascular dementia
Before moving to the home he was anxious, confused and very often tearful
We reviewed the home and were impressed with both the level of care and the compassion given to the residents
They all appeared both active and integrated and were offered engaging activities throughout the month
Once he moved in he settled immediately and became noticeably calmer and happier, gaining weight and making friends
He often commented upon how well he was being looked after
The home was very supportive of both his visitors and his interests
They allowed a group of his friends, who were hand bell ringers, to conduct their weekly practice sessions on site which enabled him to continue to participate in his hobby until four weeks before his death
The support and kindness shown to him and us during the last few weeks of his life was outstanding and very much appreciated
I strongly recommend this care home
Thank you so much for such a kind review, your father was such a pleasure to look after, he made some lovely friends in the home and we all hope the bell ringers continue to practice at the home. I will pass on your comments to all the staff, they mean allot.
Very clean and tidy and have no restrictions on visiting times.
Its truly nice to see the care and attention given to a family member when you can't be around them 24/7 and have the trust in the team providing the care
After caring for my brother for 4 years, he sadly passed away. I would like to thank all of the staff and management from the bottom of my heart. For the excellent care given to him, especially the last few weeks, not only caring for him but the family as well. I would highly recommend the outstanding nursing home for care and compassion from all the staff.
Thank you for your kind words, they mean so much and I will make sure everyone reads your review. He was a special man who touched the hearts of everyone who worked at the home, 007 will never be the same.
We are very happy with the excellent care my wife is getting. The staff are lovely and as a family we have been welcomed into the home.
Thank you, I'm so pleased you all feel so welcomed. I will pass on your comments to all the staff, they are one big team to all take immense pride in their individual roles across the home.
My father has been a resident at Andover Nursing Home for nearly 2 years and he is so pleased that this is now his home. He has a very nice room that looks onto the garden. The staff are first class and take time to get to know their residents in detail. Many of the staff have been there for years, so there is a very low turnover of staff which means dad has continuity with the staff that look him. My father really loves the food and we have had several family meals in the restaurant which have been fantastic and this allows dad to be more included in family events.
Thank you for your very kind review. Our exceptional staff retention is a credit to everyone and it gives us that amazing continuity of care our residents need. Your farther loves the family meals as much as we all love you all coming. Reviews are so important for all the staff and I will pass on your review to everyone.
The nursing and personal care has been fantastic and with so much kindness and attention along with respect for their needs meant my parents were always comfortable and felt very well looked after. My dear mother recently passed away and I was fortunate to be with her. Watching the dedication of the nurses for her palliative care was special to see and something for which I will always be grateful.
There is a happy feeling at ANH as it feels like a home and one big family.
I am so pleased that we chose ANH for my parents and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent home, the very best.
Thank you so much for such a kind review, it means so much to all the staff. Both your parents were charming and a pleasure to care for, they were both such a big part in our family. I will pass on your thanks to everyone at ANH.
My relative has been at Andover for almost 5 years and has been superbly cared for in that time. High professional standards, compassion, connection and well run behind the scenes. All the nurses are familiar with her case, and through all the challenges have been able to provide her with safety, dignity and comfort. Thank you Andover!.
Thank you for your review, much appreciated by all of the team. She is an amazing lady, such a pleasure to care for. I will pass on your thanks & we look forward to seeing you soon.
Wonderful staff who have provided excellent care throughout a traumatic time for our family. Everyone from reception through to nursing, care and catering team treated my husband and visiting family with so much respect and kindness. We will all be forever grateful.
We appreciate you taking the time to write this lovely review. I will ensure all the staff; in every department; know how much you appreciate them. It was a pleasure to support your husband and the family.
I cannot fault Andover Nursing Home. There rooms, standard of cleanliness and facilities are all excellent but it is the team there that provides the biggest differentiator to other care/nursing homes I have visited. From the greeting at reception to the care provided from there on (patient and visitors) was truly exceptional. Smiling and caring people everywhere.
We really appreciate you taking the time to write this review, we are really pleased you enjoy your visits to the home and that everyone was smiling and caring, happy reviews mean so much to all the staff
All staff are amazing, can't do enough for us all and looking after Dad. I have never felt so at home in a care home before.
We really appreciate you taking the time to write this review. It was a privilege to nurse your father and to support the family, please pop in if you are ever passing.
The most efficient, compassionate and relaxing environment. The best-run care home I've visited and considering I have worked in the industry I have very high standards. The staff are very knowledgable and flexible of needs. I would live here if I could! They make our visits so easy and happy!
Thank you for this lovely review. It was an honour to care for your grandfather and family. Please feel free to drop in at any time.
The care our stepfather received over the past 4 years has been outstanding - from the initial meeting with Matron before his emergency arrival, to his gentle and peaceful final days. Andover Nursing Home became a real home to him, with the staff making sure they got to know who he was and what he liked, and understanding his medical and wellbeing needs. Our family and visitors have been welcomed at all times, and we were kept well informed of any changes to his care. The nursing staff adapted constantly to my stepfather's slow decline in physical and mental health, respecting his dignity at all times. The link to the local doctors and surgery was professional and timely, often anticipating needs. The staff work seamlessly together as a team, always with a smile - it feels like one big family. The excellent leadership and safe environment filter down through the place, resulting in an outstanding nursing home. Thank you to all who cared for our stepfather - he loved you all!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I am so proud of our wonderful staff, whatever their role, who always go the extra mile. We loved your stepfather and miss him. Please visit us at any time.
Looking after the elderly and infirm is something most of us have thankfully little experience of. Personally, I doubt I could do it which makes my admiration of the people who choose this as a profession all the stronger. Apart from dealing with the mucky bits and the frustrating bits and the heart rendering caring for people who are approaching their final days, there is capacity in the Andover Care Home staff to show compassion, care and understanding. From top to bottom, this is a fantastically well-run place that repeatedly gains an Outstanding award from the CQC. Forget about all the recent criticism over a one-word assessment as in this case that one word says it all. In my view, my sister-in-law got very very lucky to find a place here. I try to express my appreciation to the staff by way of some chocolate and carrots (for matron's horses) by feeling, in comparison, my rating is inadequate, you all deserve far more. Thank you. P.S. Outstanding is only given to a very small percentage.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. While the chocolates and carrots are greatly appreciated, nothing means as much as your kind words. I will ensure that the staff are aware of your feedback as it really means so much to all of us. We look forward to seeing you soon.
To the matron and manager, please pass on my absolute gratitude for looking after Mum so beautifully.
Thank you, thank you so much for such an inclusive review, all the staff work as a team across all the departments in the home, such a positive review is so well received across the home. Sensational care is definitely something we all strive for and it was lovely to receive such a positive review. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on your next visit to the home.
