The Care Quality Commission (CQC) found The Andover Nursing Home to be 'outstanding' when they made an unannounced inspection in June 2019. The home undergoes virtual inspections annually and has retained its "Outstanding" rating since 2019.

Andover Nursing Home has looked after and cared for my elderly mother for 2 and a half years. She has had the best possible care and at all times we were kept informed of her wellness. My father visited my mother every two days and never had any problems with her care or her food and the treatment she
received. We can recommend this nursing home without any doubt whatsoever. We are absolutely thankful.

Dad entered the Andover Nursing Home from hospital and rapidly declined due to a chest infection. But he was treated like a family member at the home from the first hour he arrived, to when he died (7 days in total). The staff showed love and care to Dad and met his needs really well. Their communication
with us as a family was excellent. Their Covid protocols were secure, though we were so grateful to them that they found a safe way for us to be with Dad in his final hours despite visitor restrictions being in place. Allowing Dad's minister to say prayers with us on his last day was hugely meaningful. And the staff cared for us as a family as Dad died - letting my sister stay overnight, communicating honestly with us, keeping us supplied with food and endless cups of tea and biscuits. Andover Nursing Home has changed my perception of nursing homes entirely. I now see them as a potentially life-enhancing option for an older person. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

My mother is a resident and needs high levels of care and I am so impressed with Andover Nursing Home in every way. All of the staff including carers, office/reception, management, maintenance have always been so professional and caring and my mother has the highest praise for them all. There is a great
friendly atmosphere, and every care taken for my mother and such compassion for myself, sharing knowledge and advice when asked and keeping our family updated. My mother loves the food, such a great selection, she never gets bored. It is such a relief to have trust that my mother is in the best place for her needs and her care and to know that we are involved when we need to be, and the right decisions will be taken for my mother's health and well-being. Totally recommend this home.

It is very reassuring to know that Mum is in safe hands and receiving the best quality of care. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. My visit this week was carried out in a Covid-safe manner and went very well.

It's hard to write a review of Andover Nursing Home without sounding contrived and OTT but all I can do is reflect on the experiences that my family have had. The staff are always incredibly friendly and professional. The place is clean and well cared for. They are always there to help and answer questions
- management, nurses - everyone. Most importantly, they genuinely care about the people they look after. At no point have I ever thought my parents were getting anything other than the utmost level of care. They took the initiative and were way ahead of others when it came to covid. We were unfortunate in that both Mum and Dad had to move into a home but there isn't a day go by that I'm not grateful we chose Andover Nursing Home over any other. Mum died recently but she was treated with love and respect by the staff right until the very end. Nobody would argue a nursing home is the perfect end to a life, but Andover Nursing Home make everything as good as it possibly can be. I honestly can't recommend them highly enough.

My mum has been a resident now for over 5 years and in that time has been looked after with care and dedication. Of course, issues arise with old people (she is 95) but management have always been responsive, thoughtful and above all available. The response and care put into managing covid-19 has been

My disabled father has been resident at the care home since March 2019 and just prior to the pandemic restrictions. The care home staff and management were brilliant in getting my father settled in quickly and it soon became apparent that he was in a real home-from-home environment.
Despite the challenges
of Covid-19, all the staff at the home have done an amazing job. Not only with the safeguarding of the residents but also making my Dad feel so welcome and part of the family. I am very happy that my father is being looked after so well. The care, attention and support everyone at the home gives have given me tremendous peace of mind, knowing that he is in the safest and most caring hands possible!

Mum has been resident at the nursing home since December 2019, and we can honestly say that she is looked after so well. She has dementia, and unfortunately, is not really aware of many things these days, but we are so grateful for the care she receives, and we know that she is happy and well looked
after even though we cannot see her very often. It is very reassuring to know that the staff treat her with such kindness, and we would recommend Andover Nursing Home to anyone.

Recently, one of my clients came for respite to the Andover Nursing Home, where he received great care with compassion, dignity and respect, communication was excellent, and empathy was given to his wife when the time was needed, as a carer in this time when we are challenged with COVID this made many
barriers for me, the manager worked with me so we were successful with getting my client into her home when he desperately needed 24hr care.

My Mum has been at Andover Nursing Home for over five years now, because of her dementia. We looked at the home initially because it was one of the few in the area with no areas for improvement on the official Care Quality Commission website, and a visit quickly confirmed our choice. Caring for someone
with dementia is difficult; it calls for compassion and an endlessly caring attitude of course, but it also calls for high levels of rather technical things that you hardly ever see discussed. Professionalism, attention to detail, good systems and paperwork, investment in staff training, low staff turnover, specialist medical knowledge appropriate to specific conditions and so on. I have realised over time that the staff and management at Andover Nursing Home are good at all this stuff too, alongside the obvious care and compassion. I recommend them highly.

My sister came into the Andover Nursing Home as an emergency admission 15-months ago, as such, I had little choice of where she could stay, but I couldn't have been happier. The care she has received has been outstanding. The care home staff became her second family who took the time to get to know
us as a whole family. Any concerns I may have had were quickly and efficiently addressed by the staff who put my mind at rest. My sister passed away earlier this month, and despite the challenges of Covid, we were able to spend those precious last moments with her thanks to the excellent care and kindness of the staff not only to my sister but the whole family.

We chose Andover Nursing Home, for my father, based on a recommendation of a friend 5-years ago. That friends father had also stayed at Andover Home for a long while.
Over the past 5-years, the leader, management and the broader team have been the same - this consistency has been fabulous in helping
my father feel like this is his family, while my sister and I were working abroad. The Andover Home is incredibly well managed - the team are friendly, professional and nothing is ever too much. Their level of conscientiousness and collaboration has to lead to there being no Covid cases to date - this is not easy to achieve - it means that everyone cares about each other - staff and residents - and more importantly, they are maintaining very high standards inside and outside the home.
My father really enjoyed Andover home - the attention received, the food, the cleanliness that the genuine friendships and caring (and he could be very fussy!)

My mother went into residency at The Andover Nursing Home in January 2019. Within a week, I could see there was a vast improvement to her wellbeing. She had flourished in the home and her dignity was maintained at all times. My mother's laughter had returned along with her sense of fun and it was a
pleasure to see.
If you are seeking a nursing home which has an excellent standard of care and an ethos of being people-centric (residents and staff), you need not look any further, you have found the right one. I always felt my mother was in very safe hands. Thank you the manager and everyone at The Andover Nursing Home for all your care. I will miss you all and especially the party times with my mother and the other residents. I loved it.

My mother spent the last two and a quarter years of her life in Andover Nursing Home. The home is lovely and well maintained and has a pretty garden which is ideal to sit out in on a sunny day. Throughout her time in the nursing home, we were extremely pleased with the excellent care and attention
given to her by all the staff, including management, administration, catering, entertainments, and especially the hands-on nursing and auxiliary staff. They all went out of their way to treat our Mum with dignity and as an individual. Despite her deteriorating physical condition and worsening dementia, the family knew that she was well cared for, fed, clean and safe.
A big thank you from all the family for looking after our Mum in her last few years.

My brother, sister and I are all very impressed with the way the nursing home has coped during the pandemic, by initially locking-down before the official Government date and subsequently, protecting our mother and keeping her safe and free from harm.
You have all done a marvellous job and deserve
the utmost praise for all your efforts.
Hopefully, now we appear to have passed the peak infection rate, life will start to get easier for us all, and when the time is right, we look forward to visiting again.

I feel that my parents are in the best place possible considering their current needs. The staff are always upbeat, helpful and very obviously caring. They show compassion and understanding, not only to my parents but also towards the rest of the family as we struggle to come to terms with our parents'
deterioration. I am so grateful for the foresight of the senior staff. They made the decision to restrict access to the care home very early on and this has undoubtedly protected the residents. The staff are somehow managing to remain professional and stoic despite, I'm sure, facing a variety of challenges on a daily basis. The dedication and kindness shown by the staff is certainly helping my family to feel less anxious at this difficult time.

The staff, from top to bottom, offered quality care and support to my mother throughout her stay.
Sadly Mum passed away, but the care and support shown to our family has continued and will never be forgotten.

Louise's “striving for excellence” mantra has been inspirational throughout the Home. Living locally in Ludgershall, equestrienne Louise has three children and a passion for her horses Lottie & George and her dogs Bear & Milo.

Hamish Mathews

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hamish enjoys the challenges that come with the responsibility for the building, its equipment, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Staff Training and as the GSF lead for the home.
Having run his own business overseas for 20 years, he returned to Andover and became the main carer for a friend with cancer. This inspired him into a part-time role as a carer at Andover Nursing Home.
Living locally Hamish is a passionate cook and a frustrated artist.

Being responsible for the administration of the home is no mean task, and with her team behind her it is a challenge that Debbie thrives on. Having managed administration in a number of companies Debbie’s knowledge, skills indefatigable person centred approach are an asset to The Home.
Debbie is also the Bereavement lead for the home and offers support and guidance to staff, residents, relatives and visitors who may need assistance in times of need.

Marianne is from the Philippines, she has been living in the UK for over 18 years and now considers here home.
Having been a nurse for over 20 years her career has focused on elderly care which she has a passion for.
Marianne is a keen international traveller and is slowly working through her bucket list of places to visit, when not at work you can find her in the gym.

Liza Roberts

Job Title: Sister - Nights

As the night sister Liza ensures each resident has a restful night.
Having worked at the home for over 17 years Liza has had to face a lot of challenges and emergencies as well as life-threatening situations. The skills and knowledge she has gained through these experiences are shared with her colleagues on a daily basis.
Liza lives locally with her family, her husband Romeo also works at the home.

Charlotte

Job Title: Sister - Rooksbury Unit Joined: 2010

Charlotte has been at the home for 15 years. Starting as a care assistant with a desire to study nursing she progressed to Senior carer before starting her nursing studies. Once qualified Charlotte was welcomed back as a staff nurse on her dementia unit. Progressing to Senior Staff Nurse Charlotte was destined for the role as sister when the position became available.
Her enthusiastic professional attitude & commitment is infectious on all of her nursing and care team.

Angela

Angela Rubio

Job Title: Clinical Nurse Manager Joined: 2011

Angela has been at the home for nearly 15 years and has worked her way from Staff Nurse up to Clinical Nurse Manager.
Angela is from Spain, and although she has settled in Andover she loves to travel the world. She is our very own Spanish Hermione Granger, Angela has a passion for all things Harry Potter as well as Mickey Mouse and the Disney Empire.
A keen reader of fiction, Angela has a passion for her job and the home.
