Brendoncare Alton is a care home set in attractive, mature gardens. Its design enables the provision of high quality care within a welcoming and homely environment.

The care home provides nursing care, dedicated dementia care and end of life care for 80 people. Respite stays are also available, offering short breaks which are suitable for those recovering from an illness, a hospital stay or whilst regular carers take a break.

The varied menus provide healthy, wholesome, appetising food which is all freshly cooked on site. The catering team talks to the residents to ensure they are accommodating all their requirements. They are proud to hold a 5 star food hygiene rating with the Food Standards Agency (May 2023).

A full wellbeing and activities programme is provided to ensure residents stay active and continue to lead enriched lives.

Front of house staff (reception, administrative etc) very friendly, helpful and efficient.
Wing staff caring, friendly and mindful of the needs and difficulties of those in their care. They gave the resident a warm welcome. They are helpful even though they are very busy. The senior nurse on the wing

We have been extremely satisfied with the care, attention and friendliness of staff that my parents have enjoyed at Brendoncare since 2011. This applies to the close care staff and the nursing wing staff, in addition to all the administrative and restaurant staff.

Brendoncare Alton is a well-run care home with friendly staff. It is a charity complex with 2 elements, a care home surrounded with 1 and 2 bedroom apartments (sold to elderly residents, who can pay for the use of the care home facilities, including a restaurant).
The home serves meals for 50% of residents
in small dining rooms and serves meals for other residents on trays within their own rooms. This pattern could be improved by better organisation, at no cost.
Residents served in the dining room wait for 20 minutes before the food arrived from the kitchen. Staff serve food for rooms, only about 20 minutes later are dining room patients served.
Simply by serving dining room patients first, unnecessary waiting would be removed.

Most of the nurses and carers are excellent but the management seems poor with a high reliance on agency staff and a high staff turnover of long-term staff. While staff and carers are client-focused, management seems focused on the bottom line and often fail to consider carers’ views or opinions despite

Modern building with views onto the garden. Very caring staff and clean rooms and building. I have a lot of experience of care homes and Brendon Care is one of the best.

After a stay of about 15 days, I was particularly impressed with the unfailing kindness and friendliness nothing too much trouble at any time whether it is 3 pm or 3 am always patient orientated. The night and day nursing was very understanding. If you are trying to rest after illness come here!

My father spent a number of weeks here in respite at the Brendoncare Alton. I found that the atmosphere was always positive and upbeat. All the staff were very approachable, friendly and only too pleased to help or assist. This was for all the levels of staff I encountered, including nurses, carers
and admin. I was very impressed and happy with his care before, during and after his passing. The staff were very helpful, attentive, caring and most significantly, respectful. He was always clean, warm and well looked after. He could not have been in a better place or have received better care. By chance, I was the only family member with him at the difficult time of his passing and even I received the special support I needed from the staff (special thanks to one member of staff).


A very welcoming care facility that treats the tenants as humans and with the respect that they have earnt. I would not hesitate to highly recommend them.

The care my mother receives was excellent. She was looked after in a way which we could not have managed were she at home.
She was angry at first but became less so and eventually, through the kindness of everyone, peaceful.

We have found the staff to be friendly and caring and they have taken the time to get to know my father. Although they are busy, they are always ready to help. The staff treat my mother with friendly respect. She enjoyed many activities including craft, cooking and trips out. She particularly enjoyed the pub visits! Now she is quite unwell the staff show compassion and care, not just to my mother but to visiting family members. I cannot praise or thank them

Overall, I am grateful to Brendoncare for the generally good quality care given to my mother during the 4 years and 8 months she was a resident. Most of the staff I met were caring, compassionate and professional. However, there were times when the senior management appeared unsuitable and inadequate
for their role and this was evident from the low morale exhibited by staff and the resulting departure of several respected familiar faces. The standard of the home in all respects was judged by me to be high at the time of my mother's arrival. Within 3 years it had deteriorated but it does now seem that improvements have been made. I must specifically mention the excellent performance of two of the senior nursing staff on Pink Wing. I recommend that care is exercised in the selection choice of some of the junior foreign members of staff where, generally, communication was a challenge. I would recommend this care home and its staff without hesitation.

My mother was a resident in her own flat at Brendoncare Alton for six years and moved into the on-site nursing unit for end of life care prior to her death in October. Throughout this time the quality of care was exemplary. We live some 150 miles away and had absolute trust and confidence in all the
staff, who would always alert us if there were any concerns. Not only were all of my mother’s needs met, but the carers so often thought of the small things which enhanced the quality of her life. The relationships between my mother and her carers was very special and she regarded them as friends. Her final thoughts were that she had been so well looked after and felt very blessed.

Both my mother and my grandmother had a passion for caring and their dedication to helping other people inspired me to train as a nurse. I graduated in nursing in 2005, then took a Masters degree in Psychology and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in 2008. After having worked in two private settings, I started working in social care in 2015 and joined Brendoncare in 2018 as Deputy Manager. I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact in people's lives, especially in a field where understanding, empathy and support are crucial.


Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my young daughter growing up and exploring the world around her. My husband restores classic cars and we enjoy going to car races and shows and have even won some international competitions.

My 12 years of social care experience have been mainly working for corporate nursing home providers in customer-facing roles supporting families seeking residential care for their loved ones. I joined Brendoncare in 2017 initially as a wellbeing coordinator, bringing fun and joy to residents’ lives through a range of activities. After a brief spell in 2019 working for another care provider, I returned to Brendoncare as Customer Relations Manager. This role involves supporting new residents and their families to ensure their move to a Brendoncare home goes as smoothly as possible.


I enjoy watercolour painting and entering amateur photography competitions. I love the smell of freshly cut grass and fragrant roses in my garden – appreciating the beauty of life’s simple pleasures means so much to me.

Outside work, I have a keen interest in attending personal training sessions and yoga. I also enjoy reading, with my favourite genres being romance and fantasy. I also spend a lot of time with my niece and nephew being the fun cool Auntie!
