Knellwood originally opened as a memorial to local servicemen and servicewomen who gave their lives in the Second World War and, as both a residential and nursing home, aims to have a positive impact on the lives of those in Farnborough with care needs.

The Home is run by a non-profit making charity called the 'Farnborough (War Memorial) Housing Society Ltd’. It is run by a Board of Management with a Manager providing day-to-day control. It offers a homely atmosphere, comfortable accommodation, excellent food and a 24-hour care service.

Knellwood is a large Victorian country house with two newer wings set in a delightful garden with several acres of lawn and woodland.

Where possible, Residents may bring small items of furniture and personal effects to place in their accommodation.

A care home in the real sense of the word. Residents are treated as individuals with dignity and respect.
Nothing is too much trouble, and there is always someone to talk to about any queries or concerns. Good choice and amount of acivities on offer to stimulate the residents.

I am currently receiving respite care at Knellwood Care Home so I have only been here a few weeks but I would definitely recommend it!
I can't praise the staff enough. Nothing is too much trouble. Although they are often very busy, they are unfailingly patient, cheerful and friendly. We are all treated
with dignity and respect and Knellwood has a pleasant 'family' atmosphere.
The food is lovely, with plenty of choices, the laundry service is efficient and we have our hair done in the on-site salon.
There are so many activities, entertainment and visits that we are never bored or lonely.
I will definitely be back when I eventually need permanent care!

A welcoming and happy care home. A real family and homely environment.

I've been connected with Knellwood Care Home from its inception, supporting all fundraising events. Later as a visitor as a friend moved into the home and now as a volunteer. This home is in the top category of care homes and would recommend it to anyone.

As a volunteer at Knellwood, I spent a few sessions helping with baking. It was a wonderful experience to assist the residents to make marzipan and decorate their Christmas cakes. To see the smiles on their faces at their achievements was such a pleasure and we can have a laugh and a joke whilst working.
It is lovely to see all the residents so happy and that they have such a choice of activities to choose from. The staff and management welcome the addition of volunteers to help enrich the lives of residents in the home. To be able to be a small part of the volunteer team is a joy.

We are so pleased that my mother is a resident at Knellwood. The quality of care is excellent and all the staff are without exception so supportive and aware of the needs of the residents. The leadership from the manager and senior staff is exceptional. The Christmas programme covered all of December
and were really well adjusted to the needs of the residents and their visitors.

The home staff, one member in particular, have gone above and beyond to help me with keeping my nan, a resident, in touch with family in Australia, and have not hesitated to help in assisting her to see regular photos of her first great, great grandchild. Nothing is ever too much trouble and even organised
an afternoon tea for us when we surprised them with an unexpected visit. Having been fortunate to visit on a few occasions and the staff have always been friendly, the home is clean and residents always appear happy with plenty of activities to choose from. Thank you for all you do.

My mum is now into her 2nd month in Knellwood and the difference in her mental and physical condition is far beyond anything we could have hoped for. Her quality of life has definitely improved with lots of activities going on all the time. All the staff are attentive and caring and everything you could

I would just like to say thank you for facilitating a wonderful Birthday tea for my friend on Sunday 18th September. It was a wonderful relaxed occasion, with plenty of room for all of us to sit around the table in the conservatory. 8 adults and 2 children. The tea was afternoon tea at a luxury London
hotel! The staff, as usual, were so friendly, accommodating, welcoming and helpful. You wouldn't get better service in a 5-star hotel. Thank you so much. You really helped my friend to have a wonderful Birthday celebration.

My mother who has moderate dementia and some mobility challenges was resistant to moving into a care home. Her opinion changed from the day she visited the home with her children. All her questions were answered and fears were allayed during the 4 hour visit. We were shown around the home, had a lengthy
conversation with the General Manager and treated to lunch and left to enjoy the garden. The home feels like a real home with staff who genuinely care and has an ethos of treating residents as individuals and as best as possible catering to individual needs/desires. Since mum moved into the home, she appears to be happy, well cared for and has enjoyed some of the very many activities on offer each day, attended the onsight hairdresser and been seen by her new GP, something she hadn't had since pre covid! As her children and my dad (her husband of 65 years), we are so happy that mums needs can not only be met but her life enhanced and enriched with activity, kindness and good quality care.

Knellwood is a lovely care home which always goes above and beyond to meet the resident's needs. It's a friendly environment, which makes every resident and visitor feel welcome. Knellwood is very much a community based home, which often holds events to bring the different communities together. Prior
to covid, they offered schools the opportunity to come into the home and spend the day with the residents. This was a heart warming experience, which allowed the nursing side of the residents to come out and allowed them to feel like a child again. Knellwood do many activities throughout the year from garden centre trips, to cinema trips, singers/entertainers coming in, pamper days and family days. All of which is run by the most amazing team you could ever meet! They work their bums off to provide for their residents, often working beyond their finishing time to make sure everything is perfect. As these residents are like a second family to the staff. I'd highly recommend Knellwood!

The first positive impression given by Knellwood is of the lovely buildings and well-tended grounds, with generous lawns, beautiful old trees and colourful flowerbeds. Once inside the building, the same welcoming, caring, friendly and non-institutional atmosphere is apparent. While volunteering, visiting
families and friends have frequently remarked to me on what a pleasure it is to visit their loved ones there. It makes all the time and effort spent there by volunteers so worthwhile. The staff are wonderful, caring people, and never fail to show appreciation. I couldn't recommend Knellwood higher.

A wonderful Jubilee celebration was held for residents, families and volunteers (nearly 209 people) and once again the real family and community atmosphere of Knellwood was very obvious. I can’t praise Knellwood staff highly enough for the wonderful way they look after their residents with the highest
standards and care they provide. This truly is a wonderful place to call home in every sense of the word.

Knellwood has been Mum’s home for nearly three years now and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Every member of staff has a kind, caring and compassionate approach, ensuring a loving, homely and friendly environment for residents and their families. The last few years have been particularly challenging
for everybody, but the manager has made every effort to minimise the impact upon those in his care and maintained a focus on their physical and emotional wellbeing regardless. Whether I want to visit Mum, have a chat with her over the phone, or pick her up for a trip out, they are always accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Knellwood is a fantastic home, in wonderful surroundings with great staff providing a safe and happy environment for its residents. Thank you all so much.

I am a volunteer at Knellwood and see how the home functions on a weekly basis. I am so impressed by the compassion and care that I see from all staff at the home. You can also see that by how the residents are happy and seem very much at home. There always seems to be plenty to occupy each and everyone,
with a full activity program that means there's something for everyone to do, and feel part of life at Knellwood. The icing on the cake is that the food is first class. All in all, I can't fault the home in any way.

My mum who has been living in Knellwood for the last four years has the most wonderful life I could ever wish for her, the care and the kindness of the staff are second to none, she has so much entertainment and also trips out which she thoroughly enjoys. Mum is not a morning person (she likes to lay
in) so she gets up and dresses herself at her leisure, Knellwood wants every resident to treat living there as their home. There is a daily menu outside the dining room for the residents which is lovely for them and nice for relatives to see what choice they have had. I can't thank all the staff enough for the peace of mind I have of Mum living at Knellwood, thank you just doesn't seem enough but Thank you.

This is a lovely caring home. I didn't want my great nanna to go in a home, but now I see how happy she is, I'm glad she is there. She has friends and joins in with the great activities, especially the choir. I worried I wouldn't get to see her because of covid, but Knellwood prioritise visits, they

Knellwood is a very happy place where residents are involved in all sorts of activities from singing (a resident's choir) to gardening, pamper days, a wonderful magic table, interesting days out and fun days in.
This week the residents wanted to help the Ukraine appeal and came up with the idea of
a Knitathon - Knitting trauma teddies for children affected by the terrible conflict and raising money for the appeal by being sponsored for their efforts.
It has been brilliant, everyone working together and being able to sit and chat, learning new skills from old hands. Life is for living at Knellwood and there is always a warm welcome.

I have been a resident here for early three years. I have a large comfortable room with good facilities which is well maintained. I have a call bell which is answered quite quickly. We have a weekly programme of activities organised by a dedicated staff. The food and drinks are well organised. The caring
