Great care home. Plenty for the residents to do, with lots of different choices and activities available! Family members are also welcome to join in with various activities and events and are welcome to come and go! It's nice to see the residents being put above making money which unfortunately is rare to see from many other care homes!

December was a busy month in Knellwood for the residents. With the staff and volunteers the residents were making Christmas cakes, as well as items for the residents’ stall at the annual Christmas Bazaar. Various entertainers visited the home which the residents thoroughly enjoyed and Father Christmas also called in. The outdoor decorations were stunning and the residents were very impressed. All residents’ families were invited to individual tea parties for them to enjoy with their loved ones, all at no cost to the families or residents. Knellwood really does go above and beyond for its residents and provides the best care possible. I’m really proud to be part of this home.

My nan has been at Knellwood for a few years now. She's happy there which gives us so much peace as a family. Nan loves joining in with the numerous activities on offer and likes the visiting entertainment. As a family, we are always made very welcome, and they hold family days throughout the year. Nan loves the food and the care staff have a good connection with residents.

My nan has moved into Knellwood recently. I already had links with the home so knew she was in the best place, but she is happier than any of us could have hoped. She has made friends, has a great social life, the activity team does an amazing job and the care is second to none. Nan has blossomed and we couldn’t be happier as a family.

Amazing staff, very welcoming. I volunteer at Knellwood and all the staff members from the care staff, cooking, maintenance, house keeping etc. are outstanding. I'm always made welcome, support and include in activities for the residents. I have supported residents at meal time, the selection of food prepared is amazing. Everyone is friendly, feels like one big family. The activities are second to none. I'm astounded of the activities provided for the residents, who are included. So glad I chose to volunteer at Knellwood.

Our Dad moved into Knellwood Care Home in May and I have nothing but praise for the place. The care staff have been unfailingly warm and caring. The home has always been clean and the choice of activities and food are good. Friends and relatives are welcome to visit at any time and there are plenty of quiet spaces to meet and chat (quiet lounges, as well as stunning gardens) As a family, we are now at peace as we know that Dad is content and receiving the highest level of care.

I can't speak highly enough of the standard of care, the quality of staff, and the facilities provided by Knellwood. My mum has now been a resident for more than 12 months and is very happy there. She had been reluctant to go into a care home because she is a very independent person but her frailty meant that she needed to have continuous support. My family are so pleased that she was able to go into Knellwood. The staff were so welcoming it is such a relief to know that she is being well looked after and is safe. In particular the quality and range of the activities offered to residents are superb and keep my mum interested and engaged. The food and the building and grounds are very good indeed. It is however the the staff and management who make the place and they deserve a big thank you.

I have been volunteering for almost a year. Looking for a volunteer placement I chose Knellwood due to the kindness extended to me by the manager on an unrelated matter. I felt such a kind and compassionate man must run a compassionate and caring establishment. As a retired nurse, who was also an RCN representative, I had visited many care homes in the past as a result of staff problems.
I have not been disappointed in my choice. I have been surprised and delighted by every aspect of Knellwood. From the range of resident activities, the care I see as I go about the home, the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness and general atmosphere to the support of volunteers, like me, has all been second to none.

As a coopted Trust Board member and a member of the Care Quality sub committee I also have the opportunity to look closely at the care and have an excellent relationship with the senior staff to discuss any issues and ideas who are very open and forthcoming. A great home.

I am currently receiving respite care at Knellwood Care Home so I have only been here a few weeks but I would definitely recommend it!
I can't praise the staff enough. Nothing is too much trouble. Although they are often very busy, they are unfailingly patient, cheerful and friendly. We are all treated with dignity and respect and Knellwood has a pleasant 'family' atmosphere.
The food is lovely, with plenty of choices, the laundry service is efficient and we have our hair done in the on-site salon.
There are so many activities, entertainment and visits that we are never bored or lonely.

I will definitely be back when I eventually need permanent care!

I've been connected with Knellwood Care Home from its inception, supporting all fundraising events. Later as a visitor as a friend moved into the home and now as a volunteer. This home is in the top category of care homes and would recommend it to anyone.

As a volunteer at Knellwood, I spent a few sessions helping with baking. It was a wonderful experience to assist the residents to make marzipan and decorate their Christmas cakes. To see the smiles on their faces at their achievements was such a pleasure and we can have a laugh and a joke whilst working. It is lovely to see all the residents so happy and that they have such a choice of activities to choose from. The staff and management welcome the addition of volunteers to help enrich the lives of residents in the home. To be able to be a small part of the volunteer team is a joy.

We are so pleased that my mother is a resident at Knellwood. The quality of care is excellent and all the staff are without exception so supportive and aware of the needs of the residents. The leadership from the manager and senior staff is exceptional. The Christmas programme covered all of December and were really well adjusted to the needs of the residents and their visitors.

The home staff, one member in particular, have gone above and beyond to help me with keeping my nan, a resident, in touch with family in Australia, and have not hesitated to help in assisting her to see regular photos of her first great, great grandchild. Nothing is ever too much trouble and even organised an afternoon tea for us when we surprised them with an unexpected visit. Having been fortunate to visit on a few occasions and the staff have always been friendly, the home is clean and residents always appear happy with plenty of activities to choose from. Thank you for all you do.

I would just like to say thank you for facilitating a wonderful Birthday tea for my friend on Sunday 18th September. It was a wonderful relaxed occasion, with plenty of room for all of us to sit around the table in the conservatory. 8 adults and 2 children. The tea was afternoon tea at a luxury London hotel! The staff, as usual, were so friendly, accommodating, welcoming and helpful. You wouldn't get better service in a 5-star hotel. Thank you so much. You really helped my friend to have a wonderful Birthday celebration.

My mother who has moderate dementia and some mobility challenges was resistant to moving into a care home. Her opinion changed from the day she visited the home with her children. All her questions were answered and fears were allayed during the 4 hour visit. We were shown around the home, had a lengthy conversation with the General Manager and treated to lunch and left to enjoy the garden. The home feels like a real home with staff who genuinely care and has an ethos of treating residents as individuals and as best as possible catering to individual needs/desires. Since mum moved into the home, she appears to be happy, well cared for and has enjoyed some of the very many activities on offer each day, attended the onsight hairdresser and been seen by her new GP, something she hadn't had since pre covid! As her children and my dad (her husband of 65 years), we are so happy that mums needs can not only be met but her life enhanced and enriched with activity, kindness and good quality care.

Knellwood is a lovely care home which always goes above and beyond to meet the resident's needs. It's a friendly environment, which makes every resident and visitor feel welcome. Knellwood is very much a community based home, which often holds events to bring the different communities together. Prior to covid, they offered schools the opportunity to come into the home and spend the day with the residents. This was a heart warming experience, which allowed the nursing side of the residents to come out and allowed them to feel like a child again. Knellwood do many activities throughout the year from garden centre trips, to cinema trips, singers/entertainers coming in, pamper days and family days. All of which is run by the most amazing team you could ever meet! They work their bums off to provide for their residents, often working beyond their finishing time to make sure everything is perfect. As these residents are like a second family to the staff. I'd highly recommend Knellwood!

The first positive impression given by Knellwood is of the lovely buildings and well-tended grounds, with generous lawns, beautiful old trees and colourful flowerbeds. Once inside the building, the same welcoming, caring, friendly and non-institutional atmosphere is apparent. While volunteering, visiting families and friends have frequently remarked to me on what a pleasure it is to visit their loved ones there. It makes all the time and effort spent there by volunteers so worthwhile. The staff are wonderful, caring people, and never fail to show appreciation. I couldn't recommend Knellwood higher.
