Overall Experience
Nothing but high praise for the way my relative’s personal, nursing and social needs have been met. Carers and nurses are professional, understanding and compassionately patient, with relatives' input welcomed.
Activity co-ordinators are talented and imaginative, working tirelessly to: devise outings; provide a wide variety of diversions and activities; organise seasonal events; and still find time for a one-to-one with residents.
Catering's excellent, with appealing, varied menus and chefs open to suggestions. Everything (including afternoon and residents’ birthday cakes) prepared on site, in pristine modern facilities.
Hygiene standards are high throughout; residents’ bathrooms spotless. Cleaners smart, friendly, and thorough. Decoration/maintenance to highest levels.
Management is approachable and highly effective, regular surveys encourage feedback, shortcomings/suggestions speedily implemented.

An uplifting, reassuring team spirit pervades Pax Hill. It is a very special place.

This home is spotlessly clean and all staff seem to provide a sympathetic and caring support to the residents. Activities are available for those residents who want it. Food looks appetising and well presented.

Overall Experience

My 90-year-old mother first came to Pax Hill in September 2017 for respite care having been hospitalised after a fall at home. Initially, she was confused and unhappy being away from her home. After assessments, it was realised she needed to be in full-time care. With the help of the caring staff, my mother has now settled in well and is very happy. She is fulsome in her praise of everyone. The nurses and carers are aware of her specific needs, likes and dislikes and are always respectful and helpful. She has mobility difficulties and vascular dementia and has always been demanding, very independent of mind and spirit and it takes special skills to care well for such people. This is carried out in an exemplary way by everyone involved at Pax Hill. The staff, from the receptionists to the carers, nurses, activity staff, maintenance, management and admin - have all been helpful and very caring to me as well throughout a very stressful period. My mother and I now have peace of mind.

I have been in this care home for one year. It is comfortable and friendly. I moved in here a year ago to be near my two sons as my husband had died and they both live in Farnham.

I have lived in Pax Hill Care Home for over ten years, firstly in the old home that was originally owned by Lord Baden Powell.

We came to the new building several years ago and except for a blip or two, it has been a happy time.

Very welcoming girls (care staff) efficient, kind and charming. Well-run, nice people and accommodation. Food is boring - would like stewed fruit (essential) - would like more variety, quality was good but would like a wider range. Enjoyed residents company - lovely location, relatives made welcome. Availability to Doctor good. Beds comfortable and slept well though used to a wider bed at home. Pleased to be allowed my mobility scooter in the building. Appreciate ground floor location and easy access to fresh air.

My mother has been at this care home for five years after a serious fall which caused her to need two people to care for her. I have always felt safe leaving her in the care of this home. On all shifts, there has been no staff who have not been very patient and respectful of her. The staff are mostly foreign with spoken English that is very good. Food fresh, modern facilities, a larger communal lounge might encourage more to leave their rooms. Varied activity programme though not many go outside or physically get exercise a little expensive.

Overall Experience
The general ambience at Pax Hill is one of comfortable efficiency. The buildings are warm, the public rooms well-furnished and the private rooms are of reasonable size, furnished to the standard a good hotel.
Food is generally good and is served in a dining room or in residents’ rooms. There are four levels of staff, housekeeping, carers, nurses and management. The housekeeping teams keep the place very clean and tidy; the carers, who provide personal care and generally look after residents, are all courteous and competent, some more than others. The nurses supervise the carers and provide medical care at district nurse level if required. The local doctor visits once per week, with the surgery on call in an emergency.

I have been at Pax Hill for two and a half years and have been quite happy with the conditions and service rendered.

The staff are always very friendly and helpful. They have to my knowledge always treated my mother with dignity and courtesy. The plan form of the building is interesting and disguises the size and institutional nature of the building to good effect.
