I've always felt as soon as you make contact with any of the staff how friendly and helpful they are, especially the manageress who seems to go that extra mile, and I am satisfied with her care, she has been a difficult person but they handle her very well.

I am extremely happy for my wife to come to Steep House as the home atmosphere is very calm and the staff are very caring and very friendly towards my wife.


I can score 100% for the manager and she is leading her team very well. Very well led home by the captain of the ship.

I moved my mother to Steep House about 12 months ago. I felt at the time that I was very lucky to have found this place and I have never regretted my decision. My mother is extremely well cared for. They take the time to know each person individually and she is always treated with dignity and “as herself”.
The range of activities is enormous and Mum takes part as well as she can, and seems to enjoy herself thoroughly. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, who are always friendly and approachable.The food is good too!

Since my father moved to Steep House Nursing Home at the end of February 2017, he has been very well looked after. The staff are very caring with the residents and always greet me with a smile and a hello. There is a lovely homely feel about the place and my father settled quickly and is very happy

My mother has been extremely well cared for at Steep House. Although confused, she has said many times that she is happy there and the staff are very helpful and caring.
Over the four months, she has been at Steep House, there has bee a noticeable improvement in her mobility caused, I believe, by
her being encouraged to move around more - 'use it or lose it'. There is also a discernable improvement in her mental ability.

I have a good friend who is a resident and whom I regularly visit. I find the home welcoming and the staff friendly and caring. They show a strong empathy towards their residents. A very professional nursing home.
Caring staff.
My father arrived from hospital in a terrible state and they managed to nurse him back to a coherent human being.
The nursing staff are very professional and the activities staff keep the residents entertained on a daily basis.

I am so impressed by all the lovely staff at Steep House.
They are all so kind, gentle and patient with all the residents.
They work such long hours and some days I can see it's not easy to cope with but they always smile and do their best to comfort and help the residents.
As regards 'Activities',
there are always new things to keep residents thinking, remembering and plus a little exercise.
Also, all the staff are always available for any queries or help.
Nothing at Steep House is ever too much trouble.

Whenever I visit my friend I have always found the staff to be very caring and kind.

As a visitor to the home, I have always been well received by a friendly and welcoming team, and phone calls made to Steep House enquiring about my father's health have always been kindly and patiently handled.


The atmosphere is friendly. Efforts made to encourage residents to use the garden, a facility

that has been much improved by the team during my father's stay.


The sensitivity and kindness with which his ending was handled was greatly appreciated by his family. He died on November 20th.

My husband came to Steep House in April 2016 suffering from Parkinson's.
He has had good care given with attention to his dignity and condition; care accompanied by an interest in his work and home life and with a sense of humour.
The chain of command between members of staff has been excellent.
I
have always been warmly received by the reception staff.
And a group of staff even got my car started after the battery went flat.
But, oh please, can the residents have better coffee!!
My husband is now receiving end of life care.

All the staff, in all departments, are polite, friendly and eager to help. The care and devotion shown to my mother over final weeks was quite exceptional. I could not have

I have been working with the Future Care Group since 2014. I trained and qualified as a nurse before moving to management. With my background in management & health and social care, I have worked at strategic levels to ensure that high standard of care is delivered across our home. I work closely with residents’ family and friends as well as ensure that care is delivered on an individualised level. I enjoy working at Steep House in particular because the team we have is so dedicated and caring which makes me a proud Manager.


I describe myself as honest, cheerful, caring and I take pride in making the residents at Steep House happy. I enjoy listening to residents’ needs and seeing them smile and laugh is the most rewarding part of my job! I take pride in leading the team. I have a strong conviction that each resident should have the opportunity to live their life as they wish to.

I chose to be a team member because of a friendly and caring nature of the home. I have quality and leadership skills; I am highly focused on providing the best possible care for my residents. I pride myself on my professionalism and leading my nursing and health care Assistant team in carrying out every duty to the highest standards.


I am a Qualified Nurse with 8 years of experience in hospital and Nursing home settings. I started my career with LRH as a nurse in 2011 and was promoted as the head of care in 2015.


The best part of my role is keeping my residents happy, safe and comfortable.


My role is important because my residents and their families along with staff know that I am there to help and support them when they need it and I always go that extra mile to make them happy.


In my spare time I like to read, take care of a garden and spend time with my family.

I was also serving in the Army for 17 years. My last eight years were spent on Thorney Island where I gained most of my experience in all sorts of maintenance. I am a very caring and hardworking person, who will give 100% on a daily basis to ensure that our residents are in a safe and compliant environment.

Job Title: Lifestyles Lead Joined: 2022

I started working in the care industry 8 years ago, looking after people in their own homes. I found that the part of the job I enjoyed most was the interactions with the elderly. I worked as a carer at Steep House for a couple of years before taking on Lifestyle Lead’s role. Being a Lifestyle Lead allows me to spend time talking and interacting with the residents, providing them with as much variety and entertainment in their daily lives as possible, as well as giving them someone to talk to when they need it.


My family and I live at a local school where my husband teaches. I have two children aged 19 and 22 and two small dogs. I love music (I play piano and guitar), doing jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family and friends.

I thoroughly enjoy engaging with residents and encouraging them with a range of activities available at Steep House. Being a team member, allows me to utilise my fantastic team's strengths and work together to improve residents' time here.


One of the favourite parts of my role is when a resident has enjoyed an activity or has surprised themselves by engaging in an activity.


Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Before joining the Steep family in 2009, I worked in an Asian restaurant, where I acquired valuable knowledge and skills that I now bring to my role here.


I find immense joy in working with our residents, ensuring they receive meals tailored to their preferences and supporting them in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. My dedication extends beyond the kitchen, and at home, I’m kept busy by my wonderful husband and three children—a daughter and twin boys.


Food holds a special place in my heart, and I’m passionate about it both personally and professionally. In my free time, I indulge in my love for baking and creating delicious Asian dishes. Interestingly, I also learned to cook English dishes from my talented mother-in-law.


I’m excited to be a part of the Steep team and contribute to the well-being of our residents through my love for food and culinary expertise. Let’s create memorable dining experiences together!

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping

I have been working at Steep House for 10 years. I started as a Housekeeper and I got promoted to Head of Housekeeping in 2019.


The best part of my role is making sure the home is kept clean.


My role is important because I oversee the smooth running of the housekeeping and laundry departments. I also make sure our residents live in a clean, comfortable and safe environment.


We have had many compliments on how nice the home looks and how good it smells. I take great pride in my job as it is very important the residents feel that their home is kept clean and safe.
