My father had been a resident of Steep House for over 2 years, he sadly passed away late last week. Dad had deteriorated markedly over the past month and while not unexpected his death was understandbly a shock.
Throughout his time at Steep House Dad had been very happy and made it his want to interact
will the staff, they also enjoyed his company, sharp mind and great sense of humour.
Throughout his final weeks the staff regularly popped their heads around the door to chat with Dad. All were fantastic but a special thanks to the team on the medical side. We as a family can't thank the staff for the way they treated Dad and the dignity he was shown during his passing away.
Mum continues to reside at Steep, so we will see all the staff as we continue to visit. A huge thank you to all for the kindness shown to both our parents.

We as a family had my dad here until he passed away in March
My has now got to the stage of needing more care than we could give her and our first choice was Steep house nursing home
We were delighted that mum was able to come here it was such a relief for us as a family to know mum will be looked
after by these beautiful people
They all go above and beyond with care for mum and us as a family I would always recommend them

My Step Dad went to Steep House after a fall and a few weeks in hospital. He was well cared for a looked after by all staff who were very attentive and helpful to him and his individual needs. The carers were great in keeping him amused with different events in the lounge. The ladies were always very
helpful on reception and the (Manager and Deputy) were always very helpful. He has now been moved to Devon to be near me and other family members. Staff at Steep House ensured that the move went smoothly. Many thanks to you all - it was great to know he was in safe hands and being well looked after.

My dad came to Steep House when his health was deteriorating and sadly he was only there for just over a month before he passed away. My brother and I both felt that he could not have been in a better place. The staff were all amazing - so kind and caring. Everyone from the Care Home Manager and Deputy,
the nurses, receptionist, carers and cleaners - absolutely everyone was so kind to our family when we were going through such a difficult time. My dad was always clean, well-dressed and groomed. The nurses and carers were excellent and it was such a relief to know that when we weren't there he was in such safe hands. I highly recommend Steep House - it's a really special place.

My wife was a resident for a short period for respite care for a month last year, an experience she thoroughly enjoyed. Her health improved greatly over that period, and was able to return home and enjoy a normal life. Sadly, her health deteriorated later in the year, and she once again needed respite
care initially, which became full time nursing care. The care she received I can only say was first class. She was treated with kindness and patience at all times. Had a good rapport with all the staff and although sadly passing away in the new year, the last few months of her life were very happy ones. I must say as a visitor, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there aswell. The management and staff are truly a credit to you, and if anyone asks me about a possible stay at Steep House, I would recommend it without reservation. It's a happy caring place, and if I should need care in the future, this is where I'm going.

Whenever I visited and staff came to check on my Uncle they always used his name and I was always offered something to drink . The room always smelled clean , the bed sheets and his clothes kept fresh and clean . Nothing was too much trouble if my uncle needed something . The interest in food and the
wonderful chef were a great addition to my Uncles life lived at Steep House. The reception team were always welcoming and helpful , all the staff would make eye contact and give a smile .

In February my wife's dementia came to the point when she could no longer be cared for at home and the decision was made to seek a place at Steep House for her future care. We found all the staff to be friendly, cheerful and caring and she soon settled in. Within a few weeks she withdrew to her room,
which she liked, and was soon to be retired to her bed all the time. She was very happy with the care, loved the staff, and was made as comfortable as possible right until the very end. Thank you to all the staff for making her final days as enjoyable as you could.

I would like to thank all the staff at Steep House for the care of my father. I cannot thank you enough for making me feel at peace with Dad in your care, he was always clean and happy, and the staff were amazing and always happy and welcoming from the receptionist to the doctors, managers, and especially

"I love it here," Mum used to say, "There's always laughter."
I cannot thank the staff of Steep House enough for their tireless care, for their dedication, warmth, their unfailing humour, and for the genuine happiness they brought to Mum in her final years. The compassion, kindness, and understanding
she received throughout her four-year residency at Steep House were exemplary. There is such love here. In her final months and weeks, every aspect of Mum's end-of-life care was managed with great sensitivity. Her sad passing was peaceful and dignified. A massive thank you to all the staff at Steep House for looking after my late mum. From reception to housekeeping, carers to nurses, activity team, and managers, they were so kind to my mum, and to me. The amazing level of care given was more than we could have asked for. There was always laughter
and a listening ear. It is not an all-singing, all-dancing nursing home, it doesn't need to be, because it is full of kindness, laughter and compassion. I would recommend Steep House without hesitation.

From the time he arrived until his sad passing, he was shown an amazing level of care that we cannot fault in any way.

My Dad has spent his last 16 months in Steep House. It was difficult for the family to see him go into a care home due to his dementia but he could not have been placed into better hands and has been looked after so well right up to the end. The whole team have provided such caring and professional
support. In his final days, they could not have done more to support my family and went out of their way to help us all. Friendly greetings, wonderful activities, great food and the best housekeeping. They are one amazing team of people who could not do enough for us and we are so grateful that Dad was placed with you. I would highly recommend this home to other any other families in our situation.

I would like to thank all at Steep House Nursing Home for making my uncle's life so safe and structured during his last months. He benefited so much from the routine that you put in place, entertainment provided, the absolute care he was given by everyone. My uncle previously lived on his own and during
his life was such a social man, so the company provided was so important, not being on his own for long periods every day, I am sure this extended his life and made it so much better. I would like to thank the lifestyle ladies and the lovely receptionist. The fact that staff came to see him and say goodbye before they left work on his last day, will always stay with me, it showed how much he was loved and cared for. The senior nurse, such a kind gentleman, was there to care in the last hours with us. I would absolutely recommend Steep House to anyone, I am in awe of how you all manage to care constantly, knowing that you are so often part of someone’s last journey. Thank you all so much.

My mum, who was 91, spent 7 months at Steep House, after breaking her ankle at home, until she sadly died last month. During that time she was looked after by all the staff with great care and most importantly dignity. All the staff could not have done more to help us as a family through this difficult
time. From the lady in reception for fielding the endless phone calls from us all, the ladies in managing everything about her care, including numerous trips to the hospital for updates on her leg, and all the nurses and carers who showed her such kindness and consideration during a really difficult time in her life. I cannot thank you all enough.

My experience with Steep House has been totally positive since the day she went in. Mum had dementia, but the care and compassion shown to her at all times was amazing. Mum passed away on the 5th of November, but the care and love shown to us before and after was humbling. I'd like to mention the lifestyle
assistant, who went above and beyond to look after us, nothing was too much trouble. We could spend time with Mum after and weren't put under any pressure to leave. Mum looked on the staff as her second family and she loved them all and I know they loved her too. Many thanks.

I have been working with the Future Care Group since 2014. I trained and qualified as a nurse before moving to management. With my background in management & health and social care, I have worked at strategic levels to ensure that high standard of care is delivered across our home. I work closely with residents’ family and friends as well as ensure that care is delivered on an individualised level. I enjoy working at Steep House in particular because the team we have is so dedicated and caring which makes me a proud Manager.


I describe myself as honest, cheerful, caring and I take pride in making the residents at Steep House happy. I enjoy listening to residents’ needs and seeing them smile and laugh is the most rewarding part of my job! I take pride in leading the team. I have a strong conviction that each resident should have the opportunity to live their life as they wish to.

I am a Qualified Nurse with 8 years of experience in hospital and Nursing home settings. I started my career with LRH as a nurse in 2011 and was promoted as the head of care in 2015.

I am a very caring and hardworking person, who will give 100% on a daily basis to ensure that our residents are in a safe and compliant environment.

I started working in the care industry 8 years ago, looking after people in their own homes. I found that the part of the job I enjoyed most was the interactions with the elderly. I worked as a carer at Steep House for a couple of years before taking on Lifestyle Lead’s role. Being a Lifestyle Lead allows me to spend time talking and interacting with the residents, providing them with as much variety and entertainment in their daily lives as possible, as well as giving them someone to talk to when they need it.


My family and I live at a local school where my husband teaches. I have two children aged 19 and 22 and two small dogs. I love music (I play piano and guitar), doing jigsaw puzzles and spending time with family and friends.

My dedication extends beyond the kitchen, and at home, I’m kept busy by my wonderful husband and three children—a daughter and twin boys.


Food holds a special place in my heart, and I’m passionate about it both personally and professionally. In my free time, I indulge in my love for baking and creating delicious Asian dishes. Interestingly, I also learned to cook English dishes from my talented mother-in-law.

I have been working at Steep House for 10 years. I started as a Housekeeper and I got promoted to Head of Housekeeping in 2019.


The best part of my role is making sure the home is kept clean.


My role is important because I oversee the smooth running of the housekeeping and laundry departments. I also make sure our residents live in a clean, comfortable and safe environment.


We have had many compliments on how nice the home looks and how good it smells. I take great pride in my job as it is very important the residents feel that their home is kept clean and safe.
