My wife was admitted to your home for end of life care. I can't fault Tudor Lodge at all. Because of the wonderful care that she has been receiving, we have had our wife/mum around for longer than anticipated. The standards of the establishment are 100%, to include all aspects of the home. We couldn't ask for more.

My husband is very poorly and in need of nursing care, previously having been in hospital, it was decided to transfer him to Tudor Lodge. I couldn't be more delighted with the care and understanding of his needs, shown by the staff at Tudor Lodge. Everyone, and I mean everyone, is kind and courteous to me as a visitor, always making me feel welcome in these difficult times. A big thank you to everyone.

Due to the strict Government restrictions, I have not been able to go into the home at all. The staff have always been pleasant and helpful when I talk to them on the phone or in-person at the doorway. My mother does complain about the service and meals, but she is 92 and has memory issues and is often very confused, so she may be complaining about something that either never happened or did so in a different location.

Reply from Jane Palmer, Director at Tudor Lodge Nursing Home

Thank you for your review. We have allowed visiting in line with Government guidelines and have always championed visiting at our home. We built visiting pods 3-months after the pandemic happened, and allowed indoor visiting as soon as the Government allowed it to, with the use of lateral flow...

With COVID it is difficult to fully rate all the options below. A COVID secure area was provided, but my father is very deaf (sometimes the batteries are flat in his hearing aid, would be good if can always be checked before a visit) and therefore it is difficult to communicate at the best of times. My father looked clean and well cared for the staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. Good COVID-19 protocols and arrangements in place.

Reply from Jane Palmer, Director at Tudor Lodge Nursing Home

Thanks very much for your feedback and battery suggestion, which we'll action of course. Glad to hear you are enjoying our new covid secure indoor visiting areas. We'll let you know about our 5-star activity program, and will send you some information - you can also follow us on Facebook to see daily updates. We're thrilled to know you'd highly recommend us so thanks again.

My husband was admitted to Tudor Lodge in August for end of life care.
His room is lovely, with garden access and views, which he really appreciates.
We have both been treated with the utmost kindness, dignity and respect by all the staff, who are doing a superb job, considering all the current and ongoing Covid restrictions on them. The daily care received by my husband is always delivered with genuine affection and concern for his needs by all the lovely staff.
In the absence of their usual outside entertainment, they are doing their utmost to keep all the residents happy and entertained each day, with appropriately themed activities, often with meals to match! And the food is always plentiful and delicious.

It's always a concern when a loved one has to go into care, but I can honestly say I would have no hesitation recommending Tudor Lodge to anyone considering this option.

My mother has been a resident at Tudor Lodge for 9 months. She was admitted with dementia, as she required specialist care.
My family viewed other care homes but were blown away by the level of service and care provided by all the staff and management at Tudor Lodge.
Luckily there was a place available for her after she had a fall at home resulting in hospitalisation. Since Mum has been at Tudor Lodge she has maintained her level of dementia.
There are activities most days with visiting musicians, animal groups, singing and craft days as well as bingo.
We cannot thank the staff for all the hard work they do as well as being so very patient.

We can now visit our mother in lovely surroundings knowing that she is so well cared for, leaving my father time to visit every day, giving him a break after he had worked for some years to look after mum with help from the rest of the family.

My aunt spent the last few months of her life being cared for at Tudor Lodge. She was taken in, with a very short life expectancy, however, the care was so good that she actually improved and lived to celebrate her 100th birthday in the home. She died in October. Everything about Tudor Lodge was top-notch, with lovely, caring staff and a management team to match. I cannot fault them. Thanks for everything.

What more could one ask - nothing was too much trouble here. Beautifully appointed care home in which my Aunt spent the last few months of her life. The dedication and care shown to her by management and care staff were exceptional. Her room was very comfortable and clean with french doors opening onto a lovely garden area. The whole building was well maintained, bright and clean, with a noticeable feeling of calm/restfulness.

The care shown to my mum during her five-month stay at Tudor Lodge was outstanding on every level.
She was shown respect and kindness throughout her stay. The nursing care was of the highest standard.
The kindness also shown to my father and all the family throughout mums illness and especially during her last weeks and days was also outstanding.

This was as near to her real home as we could get and I couldn't recommend Tudor Lodge highly enough.

We put Mum into Tudor Lodge Nursing Home after she had a serious fall at her flat in Winchester (independent living). She was concussed, confined to her bed and was very poorly, (middle of March 2019). As a family, we couldn't see any way she would make her 100th birthday, (25th June 2019). However, with the 1st class 24/7 care given by all the staff at Tudor Lodge, Mum recovered to such an extent that she got her appetite back, was able to feed herself and sit for most of the day in a cosy armchair and got involved in some activities - she made her 100th birthday easily. She died peacefully in her sleep at the home on 13th September 2019.

My gran was admitted to Tudor Lodge after a fall in her home initially for a respite stay. She ended up staying permanently as in her own words, "the carers and nurses are so kind, caring and nothing is too much trouble". Without the care and kindness shown to my gran, she would not have made it to her 100th birthday. Tudor Lodge went over and above for her 100th birthday and provided an afternoon tea celebration for the family to attend. Words of thanks do not seem enough.

All the nursing staff and carers have been so caring and understanding with both Dad and with all of us.
They go above and beyond with every aspect of Dad's care and will always keep us involved and updated.

When there is something we don't understand or would like an answer to they will explain or find out.

My mother has been a resident of Tudor Lodge for nearly six years. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and my father was her sole carer. When my Dad was no longer able to cope, we moved my Mum to Tudor Lodge and my Dad has visited every day since then.

In January 2019, my Dad was also struggling with his health and being totally aware of his situation he asked the family to support him with respite in Tudor Lodge. When our Dad was looking for respite, the family and Dad had no hesitation in asking Tudor Lodge for a respite room.

Tudor Lodge have always been very open and approachable and the grandchildren enjoy visiting and joining in with the numerous birthday celebrations we have had in the Lodge. I have no doubt that I would have lost my mum by now without the care provided by the staff at Tutor Lodge.

Six years after our first contact, I am more than happy and reassured and Tudor Lodge are now looking after both my parents.

My Mother came into this care home very confused and unable to walk.
The care and attention that the staff in Tudor Lodge gave my Mother were excellent.

I can’t thank the Matron and her team enough for the superb care they have delivered to my mother. Nothing was too much trouble from kitchen staff, laundry staff, front desk carers and trained staff. Everyone’s focus was on the care they delivered to both my mother and our family. The care I received the night my mother passed was amazing (thank you). We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I have been visiting an elderly neighbour for 4 weeks.

Tudor Lodge is a lovely nursing home and I have visited quite a few in the past. It is more like a hotel than a nursing home. Spacious, spotless with a warm and friendly atmosphere. There are daily activities for whoever wishes to participate, a hairdressing salon and numerous lounges/dining areas all with a comfortable, holiday feel about them. The management and staff I have met are friendly and caring. I wholeheartedly and totally recommend Tudor Lodge as a first-class nursing home.
