Northlands House offers a warm welcome to those in need of residential and nursing care and respite as well as convalescence and palliative care. The purpose-built home offers attractive surroundings indoors and out.

The home has all the modern facilities needed, including a 24-hour call system, to ensure that residents can feel safe and happy. The garden is a large part of the home, with many bedrooms boasting great views.

My mother was a resident in Northlands Care home from November 2017 to April 2018. All the staff looked after her with such care and compassion, right up to the day she passed away. Very professional in their work with a sense of fun as well. Just what the residents need. Well done all.

Wow we are so lucky to of found this care home for our father. All the staff are so wonderful and caring and friendly. My 89 year old father has settled in well now, the care he receives is great. He has a lovely warm and clean room, he enjoys his food and activities when he fancies attending. All the
staff have a loyal, genuine and kind attitude. We are really happy with our fathers nursing care here.
The manager always has time to chat and address any issues which we may have from time to time.

The care and well being of my mother was excellent, everybody was friendly and caring. She received a lot of attention, her life was made comfortable and homely.
The family were all made to feel welcome when visiting, we were very happy with her being there.

Mum had a brief visit to hospital in December (2 nights). On her return, she has been confined to bed. Prior to this, she was more active. Since staying in bed, the staff at the home have been exceptional in their care and understanding from the cleaners to the nurses, everyone has been kind and concerned
and she feels at home and cherished.

Mum has been at Northlands for a couple of months now. We have had some issues, but they are being dealt with. At this time I have put any problems down to 'teething' problems.
I have not had any interaction with any management whilst Mum has been here. The nurses appear to be running everything.

Following a number of respite stays, I decided to stay full time. The room is excellent, the furniture is new, help in making the room like my home has been very good. The staff are very helpful.

To start with we were more than impressed with the standard of care at this care home. 99% of the staff were amazingly helpful, understanding and caring even taking the time to ensure grandad (who would sit with nan every day) was ok even though he wasn't officially in their care. Since my grandad's
passing in March we have unfortunately had to report many issues, nan being left for hours without being changed, even down to her lunch and dinner being forgotten (then the buzzer not being answered for well over half an hour) a lot of the old staff are still brilliant but the majority of standards have slipped.

Overall Northlands House is a very friendly and caring home with a high standard of care by staff. Rooms are well-decorated and furnished. Although my mother doesn't "do" activities they always seem well attended, varied and enjoyable.

My mum is looked after very well. She needs physical care and this is provided as per her needs. She is happy in the home which she has been a resident for several years. The staff are friendly, caring and considerate even when they are very busy. The activities team work very hard to give the residents
variety and stimulation.

My Aunt would like to be offered her drink more often, she has been in bed for over 18 months. She is not readily able to get it herself and often it is not in reach of her.
She's not keen on the food, particularly the mashed potatoes.
When having a wash and changing, some of the staff are quite rough.
Today
I have reported money missing from my Aunt's purse, £15+ and this is to be investigated.

My aunt is very happy at Northlands. Her carers are lovely, very caring and passionate about their work.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
There is lots to do, always an activity going on in the home.
I worried about her when she first went to live there, but actually it is the best thing
we ever did for her because she has lots of company, is never lonely and she is safe and very well looked after.

Everything is quite good as you would expect from a large organisation. Car parking is poor as with the lifts, but on the whole, the home is good.

Natasha Randall

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

I have worked at Bupa since 2022. I started in August 2022 as Deputy Manager (Non-Clinical). I become Interim Home Manager in January 2024 and was appointed Home Manager in May 2024.


I have worked in the Health and Social Care sector for the past 16 years. During this time, I have worked within hospital settings, the ambulance service, residential and nursing homes. I have done clinical roles within the ambulance service and then onto operational management and home management roles.


I would say the biggest thing I enjoy most about working in care services is seeing the impact you can have on someone and improving their quality of life. Also, how no day is the same and enjoy every challenge along the way. To support and empower my team to do well and progress.


I live in Southampton, not too far from Northlands House. I live with my partner and 2 children. My children keep me busy outside of work and our Springer spaniel who is now 18 months called Willow.


We enjoy going on holiday abroad when we can – most recently been to Mexico.

Bethany Fiddler

Job Title: Activities Coordinator Joined: 2015

I began my career with Bupa in 2015 as a Care Assistant at Northlands House. In 2022, I became an Activities Co-ordinator at the home.


I was inspired to work in the care sector after my Nana moved into a care home. They were so good with her, we knew she was having a lovely time and was so well cared for. I always said I wanted to help people and provide the same reassurance and comfort that my Nana had.


Knowing your loved one is safe and happy is crucial. I also love getting to know people, chatting and hearing people's life stories, which our residents love to do also - so the role is just perfect for me.


My favourite part of the role is all the fun we have. A simple silly moment can lead to real belly laughs. Knowing our residents feel safe and are well cared for is my priority.


I live very local to Northlands House, work is practically on my doorstep.


I started a little book club at the start of this year with my friend where we read a new book every 2 weeks which I’ve been enjoying.


I love listening to music and singing (or trying to!) - I love a good pub quiz, too!

Hollie Fisher-Montgomery

Job Title: Activities Coordinator Joined: 2019

I joined Bupa in 2019, initially as a housekeeper before moving to my current role in the activities team.


What I enjoy most about working in care services is the feeling of knowing I have made a positive impact on the day to day lives of our residents. Making other people happy brings me a lot of satisfaction, as does working with a brilliant team.


I live in Southampton, not too far from Northlands House with my partner and three daughters. My children keep me busy outside of work. I really enjoy family weekends together and love going on day trips to new places, creating special memories.

Job Title: Receptionist/Activities Co-ordinator Joined: 2022

I have worked at Northlands House since 2022, and my roles currently include being the Receptionist at the home, and Activities Co-ordinator where I organise and lead activities and events for our residents and their families and friends to attend.


Prior to my role beginning in 2022, I didn't have experience in the care sector. After my Father passed away, I felt inspired by the care he received and I decided I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. Activities coordinator is the perfect role for bringing fun and laughter to someone's day. Seeing our residents smile is what I enjoy most about my job.


I live in Mansbridge with my partner, two step-children and our Cockatiel. I also have a Son who is studying Computer Game Design Programming at a University in Cornwall.

Inga Andersone

I have worked at Bupa since 2015 and I have been Chef Manager at Northlands House since the start of 2024.


My career at Northlands House began as a Housekeeping Assistant, which progressed to Kitchen Assistant, then Care Assistant to Bank Chef. After 4 years as Bank Chef, I have been promoted to Chef Manager.


Before I joined Northlands House, I worked in the catering and restaurant field. As the lifestyle became too busy for my family life, I wanted to find an opportunity that supported a better work/family balance. When I found the Housekeeping opportunity at Northlands House, I knew it would be perfect and that’s how I started my journey to where I am now.


I enjoy looking after people and making them feel at home, ensuring to promote positive mental and physical wellbeing. I love caring for our residents. Both keep their home clean and tidy but also cook for them. To see their smiles is what I enjoy the most.


I have been married for 18 years, to my lovely husband. We both came to England from Latvia in 2006. We have created our sweet spot in Southampton, Woolston. I love riding my electric bike to work every day which takes me around a 15-minute blast. I love travelling, going to the beach and being in the sun. I love my cat, Neo, who is my fluffy baby.


I most definitely enjoy my job. It is a very rewarding job because every day you do something good for someone. My job feeds my soul for sure. I enjoy life as it is. Living in the moment, appreciating what I have. I enjoy simple things in life.
