Field House warmly welcomes those in need of nursing, residential, short stay care. Residents can stay for a day, a few weeks, a month – however long their loved one needs support. They’ll get to relax and meet new friends, giving you complete peace of mind. The home has a dedicated respite room which can be booked up to a year in advance, staff are happy to accept last-minute requests too.

Field House is an elegant Edwardian residence in a quiet neighbourhood, modernised former private house that has many stylish comforts, such as an oak-panelled lounge, fireplace and an ornate ceiling. Secluded gardens, each with a shady pergola, enable clients to make the most of the summer weather.

Residents have their personal plan in place to ensure their dietary tastes are accounted for, and snacks and refreshments can be enjoyed throughout the day.

There's a great atmosphere and the staff encourage residents to get involved as much as they’d like. To help residents feel at home, they take the time to get to know them. The home can then tailor activities to their interests and hobbies too. From activities such as community quizzes, crafts and flower arranging to tea dances and fetes, there is so much for residents to enjoy.

Being close to the station means some on-street parking restrictions apply but the team will happily issue you a pass.

Arrived at Field House Care Home on 13th February (after a month in hospital and respite care following collapsing on 17th January with dehydration). Still "dazed" for several days, needing help with my ablutions etc. By March, I was more independent (with the aid of my walking stick). Encouraged to
participate in activities and interests available and tend to watch interesting programmes on TV. The carers - of all ranges - really do care, their patience, tolerance and understanding show the true meaning of the simple word "care" for which I am so grateful.

My father has been at Field House since 2019 and has had very good care throughout this time. The staff are helpful and kind. I recommend Field House if you are considering care options for your relatives.

My husband wanted me to have care while he went into hospital for an operation. I stayed four nights and was very comfortable in the respite room. I did not need nursing care. I went home, and my husband left hospital and moved into the respite room, where he stayed for three nights. He was recovering
from his operation and therefore needed care. Very professional staff, very attentive and good management, but didn't like the food.

I arranged for my mother to visit Field House Care Home for respite care after a hospital stay. From the outset, I was so impressed with the approach taken by the manager at Field House, who spoke to me at length about my mother and dealt with the hospital discharge so carefully and efficiently. She
was always so prompt to respond to my queries. During her stay, the staff were all kind and caring and really made my mother welcome. Unfortunately, my mother was still unwell when she was discharged from hospital and her condition deteriorated during the week. The nursing team and other staff were so alert to this and arranged for my mother to be seen by a doctor and she was ultimately re-admitted to hospital. Whilst the stay did not go as we intended, I cannot praise the care, diligence and expertise of the team at Field House highly enough. We, as a family, are so grateful to them for being so aware of my mother's deteriorating condition and for the fact that they acted so promptly.

We initially placed Mum in Field House Care Home for a two-week respite program. That quickly became four and on to a permanent residency. Our experiences have been very positive in how the team look after Mum and help her with all her needs. Mum has now settled in well - she knows where she is, has
made friends with other residents and participates well in the various activities.
For all families, placing your mother (or any loved one) into a care home is a stressful and hard decision. This has been made far easier by the way this team welcomes new residents and help them to familiarise, engage and live.
Our mum has, and we ourselves have, the total peace of mind that she is safe and is being looked after by caring staff. They provide an open-door policy allowing visitors to come and go and for Mum to go out during the day.

My mother came to Field House for respite care after a spell in hospital. From the start, she was treated with care and kindness so much so that she has decided to stay as a permanent resident. She particularly enjoys the food, the security and the company of others. I am happy in the knowledge that
my mum is safe and well cared for and the staff are excellent at communicating any information or concerns with me. Field House is an old house, not purpose-built like some, which is why I have given 3 stars for facilities but it more than makes up for this with its homely feel and friendly staff.

My mother was in Field House for palliative care. In this situation, the most important thing is the staff. Without exception, they were kind, caring and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure my mother felt both comfortable and cared for and able to support my sister and I with explanations,
reassurance and freedom to visit any time. The atmosphere amongst the other residents was very friendly when we saw them in the communal areas and garden.

I would recommend this place because I am well looked after. I find it to have a friendly atmosphere. I am able to pursue my hobby of knitting and if I wish to take part in other activities I can. I enjoy walking to and sitting in the garden. There is a good variety of meals and alternative options
to suit my diet. I especially enjoy the hairdresser, who does my hair beautifully.

My experiences at Field House have always been positive. Initially, I did place my mother into another respite facility in the area but due to the, what I can only describe as poor uncaring service, my mother was quite nervous and fearful of care homes. However, we came across Field House and were comforted
by the BUPA ‘badge’ that we knew well. We arranged an introductory meeting with the manager and we were warmly greeted and had a good discussion about what the BUPA Care Home offers. We agreed to place mum into Field House for a two/three week trial which was excellent and mum seemed to settle in much better than we expected. As a result, mum was content to stay there permanently which our whole family agreed was the best outcome for our mum/gran. She has settled in very well. Mum is now settled in and she enjoys participating in the various activities provided by the Field House team.

My mother was a resident for only seven days for end-of-life care. The compassion and care shown to her by every single person we met at the home was outstanding and made her final days very comfortable in home-like surroundings. We couldn't have wished for a kinder end to her life.

The care of my mother in her last year was very good but did feel the home needed some money spent on it to make it more accessible, cleaner and more modern. I did realise Covid made everything very difficult but entrance up the fire escape to visit mum wasn't a great welcome.

My sister was in the nursing home from 22 December 2021 to 10 January 2022 when she dies. She appeared to be very comfortable and was well looked after, she was there for such a short time it is just my first impression. I cannot comment on food as she had difficulty eating.

My brother was a resident at Field House for about 2 years ending in December 2021. He was happy there, the staff were very good at treating him as a person as well as a patient. He was bedridden throughout his stay. As I live overseas my only means of communication with my brother was by phone and
being his next of kin the manager and staff were always very courteous and kept me up to date with his condition. He was only able to handle a phone for a short while and after that, the nurses/staff always took the phone to him. I called frequently and therefore got to know quite a lot of the staff and of course the manager. They were always respectful and were very fond of my brother, always making sure he was comfortable and free of pain.


So, I give my personal thanks to everyone at Field House Care Home for the care they gave him during what turned out to be my brother's last days.

Staff at the care home took great care of my very frail father and made every effort to ensure his final months were as good as they could be. Very happy to recommend them.

My father was cared for at Field House Care Home for only a short while receiving palliative care. Each and every member of staff were so welcoming, friendly, compassionate, thoughtful and kindness shone out from them all. My father was treated with such dignity and respect, the experience was overwhelming.
Field House is a wonderful home, run with efficiency, an amazing place to be recommended to everyone.
