Field House Care Home

During my almost everyday visits to my sister, I found the staff to be very polite, pleasant and helpful. My sister was there for end of life care and I think she was accepting that she was in the best place when she could no longer stay in her own home. She was allowed to bring in some small items of furniture, pictures and other personal items, which made her room seem more homely. Although sometimes she was uncomfortable from her illness, she was treated with care and respect and was as happy as she could be in the circumstances. It was unfortunate that due to lockdown restrictions she did not have visitors for the last nine weeks of her life but that was not the fault of the care home.

All the staff were extremely professional, friendly, caring and understanding towards mum and our family.

My father in law went into the care home due to end of life care. The care and attention the home gave him was amazing and I cannot fault their professionalism and dedication to him while he was in the care home. They are a special group of people that made sure his final days were as dignified and pain free as possible.

It was very comforting to us that the nursing team was so dedicated and professional in looking after her. Alongside were the wonderful carers who were so very gentle and considerate in the way they looked after her.

She was bed-bound by her choice, but the regular check-ups by various staff throughout the day kept her occupied, even more so since we couldn’t visit. She constantly said how grateful she was for all the care and attention she was given. We as a family can’t thank every single person enough for looking after our mother the way you did!

The care that my Wife is receiving despite the current Covid-19 crisis is amazing; the communication from the home is also good. I am extremely confident that she will continue to receive care that is in my mind second to none.

Although my husband was only in the home for two weeks, the staff were amazing, very professional, caring and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. At the end of my husband's life, the staff showed so much care and dignity towards me and my daughter.

My late father-in-law was well cared for and happy during the last two years, until his death this week.

I have enjoyed my stay here for respite and now feel confident to go home. It has been great to have a shower every morning and look forward to my meals. I find the bathroom cold. The staff are very friendly and helpful. For some reason or other, I have not been sleeping very well so hopefully, that will change when I go home. (I'm not good at sleeping anyway).

I was very, very impressed by the standards which were extremely high in Field House. I could not have wished for the food, cleanliness and support of the staff to be better. Every aspect of care was managed in a professional way.

I would undoubtedly recommend Field House to anyone who had to choose a care home for themselves or a family member.

When the end came she was treated with exceptional kindness and dignity.

The care home manager is outstanding and understood my mother's very complex needs. I would not hesitate in recommending Field House to anyone.

The food was always well presented and the menu was varied and very enjoyable.

The Field Care Home helped me out in a crisis and I was extremely grateful. They looked after my husband well and I felt confident to leave him in their care. I will be most happy to use this service in the future.

Would like to say that all staff at Field House are amazing, supportive, caring and friendly people we have ever met, were amazing throughout my Nan's stay brought a lot of joy, comfort to her stay would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you all at Field House for being amazing. Thank you.

I am very happy with the care that my father is getting at Field House Care Home. He seems very content and I have seen an improvement in his behaviour since arriving.

Excellent standard of accommodation and caring friendly staff. I did look at other homes and the quality of the rooms was far inferior. The range of activities and father was taken out on trips on several occasions. (Museum, garden centre and another home for a function). I would recommend.

Both my parents needed care. Mum first, followed by Dad three months later. Field House was ideal at the time as it is local and easy for friends to visit, however it was a long way for family to visit regularly. The staff were very professional and caring and tried very hard to make living at Field House feel like home. They encouraged participation in a variety of activities wherever possible. However not all the rooms have ensuite facilities which at times made things difficult. Being a BUPA care home, they are pricing themselves out of the market. Field House is an old property made into a care home, with narrow corridors, stairways, some of the rooms are quite dark and small, but the staff do give a good level of care and commitment.

My Mum had pneumonia twice in the hospital eighteen months ago. I was told by the doctors that she would get it again as the pneumonia was food related. She left the hospital bed bound and more confused than when she went in. She moved into Field House and has been looked after. She has deteriorated gradually over time. Over the past two months, she has been fed, kept clean and looked after by the staff. They have been fantastic to me too.
