I would single out the quality of the food, which always looked appetising and offered a reasonable variety; it was certainly much better than the food offered to my own mother in a different care home. Laundry services were very efficient, and the general level of cleanliness very good. I did sometimes think the activities were less than inspiring, but I realise that this is a very challenging area and indeed my "in-laws" did not want to participate.
The staff team was well motivated and the atmosphere always seemed to be very positive. Turnover was pretty low, so residents could build relationships with carers and nursing staff.
Thank you for your review of Field House Care Home. After a fall on the pavement, I was taken by ambulance to the hospital for x-ray to my pelvis which was (slightly) fractured. After several weeks in hospital, I was transferred to Field House for rehabilitation (4weeks). The atmosphere there was welcoming and the staff efficient and very friendly and yet there was clearly an underlying discipline. My stay was enjoyable.

My father was only at Field House for a short time before he sadly passed away. During his stay, he was very well looked after by a great team who do an amazing job. Not long after he went to Field House he celebrated his 90th Birthday. The staff laid on a lovely lunch for him, my family and a couple of his friends and even cooked him his requested meal. It is small things like this that are really appreciated and shows the level of care and compassion Field House gives to its residents.

The food has been good and the accommodation very well presented and comfortable. I have no reservations about recommending this home or about my cousin returning should he need to.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear your cousin had a positive experience at Field House and with the staff. Your comments are greatly appreciated and will be shared with the home's manager.
Medication is administered efficiently. His health issues are reacted to quickly and the home seems to have a good relationship with Gp's and other service providers.
The staff seem to go "The extra mile" my father is happy!
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home.
My Mother has been very weak and poorly during this last month, but the care and attention she has received at the home has been absolutely wonderful. Nothing has been too much trouble for the staff and they have bent over backwards to ensure that she is comfortable, fed with that she would like and kept a close eye on. We are extremely grateful for all their care and attention. We, (the family), can find no fault with the home or staff.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about the care at our home.
My father has lived in Field House Care Home for just over a year now. During this time, I have nothing but praise to say about it. The staff have treated him with care, kindness, respect and dignity. They have adapted to his changing care needs involving us closely with all aspects of his care. All the staff have always been supportive to us as a family and have shown kindness and understanding to my 91-year-old mother when we bring her to visit her husband of 70 years. They have tried their best to make it as much like home as possible.
Thank you for your kind words and I'm pleased to hear you and your family have felt at home and welcomed by our caring staff and that you're happy with your father's care.
I came to Field House on 16th January following a week in hospital suffering from pneumonia. What I needed was somewhere quiet where I would be cared for whilst I recovered sufficiently to return home and, with carers, to live in my own home. Field House has met my needs. The staff are friendly and helpful. The home is very well equipped and comfortable. If I need respite care again I would hope to find a place here.
Thank you for your review. I hope that you are now back in good health and when you next need a little bit of pampering you will come and stay with us again for some respite care.
The management and staff could not have been more understanding and helpful. Stress levels immediately reduced! The actual care my mother then received was superb. The atmosphere was truly friendly and welcoming.
Thank you for your review and kind words. I hope that your mother is now back in good health.
Field House was well run, warm and the food was generous and well cooked. The staff were friendly and the level of staffing was good. I would recommend Field House.

Good, well looked after. Staff excellent.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that you are well cared for and think of our staff as excellent.
It was with the utmost reluctance that we surrendered the care of our dear mother to Field House but advanced stages of Parkinsons and Alzheimers prevented us from continuing to care for her safely at home. We quickly discovered, however, that we had not "abandoned" her, encouraged as we were to visit as often and for as long as we wished at any time of the day or night. Staff members in all areas (including kitchen, laundry, housekeeping etc) welcomed us, often by name, with bright smiles and friendly comments, thereby empowering us to participate in mum's daily activities as if we were a member of the team.
In contrast to other homes I've visited, carers and management were highly visible and never "huddled" in a corner complaining about their lot. They genuinely care for the well-being of residents, taking great pains to dress them smartly and ensure a sense of dignity and good-humour. The incredible nursing staff contribute greatly to a sense of consistency, often demonstrating alternative skills to carers. Field House became our "second home" and staff our extended family.
Thank you for your review and kind words about our staff. I'm so glad to hear that your mind was put at ease knowing that you can be part of everything and that you look upon the staff as your extended family.
Respite care between hospital and return to apartment proved satisfactory and beneficial.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
Whenever I visit my father at Field House, I often think that I would like to stay here myself. The residency is always clean and fresh and plenty of staff are on hand to mind and assist the residents, and are always welcoming to those of us who come to visit our loved ones.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
My dad came to Field House Care Home in May 2016. After viewing several homes, Field House Care Home was the most homely we found. From the moment we walked into reception, it was welcoming. The staff from management, carers, housekeeping and kitchen were all involved in his care and our care as a family. It was like we had an extended family.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
Experience at Field House was enjoyable and I thank all the staff for the care during my time spent here. I will recommend in the future. Thank you.
Thank you for your review. So glad that you enjoyed your stay with us.
The dedication and professionalism of all the staff - care, nursing, admin and support was truly outstanding.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager
My comment would be that what is needed is consistency of good service across all staff as this did vary, sometimes not to our liking.
Also good communication is needed as staff didn't always have the same message. Looking back though, I am pleased that we (my wife and I) decided to place my mother in Field House.
Thank you for your review, we appreciate your feedback. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate you sharing this with us; we will pass the comments to the home manager.
