Field House warmly welcomes those in need of nursing, residential, short stay care. Residents can stay for a day, a few weeks, a month – however long their loved one needs support. They’ll get to relax and meet new friends, giving you complete peace of mind. The home has a dedicated respite room which can be booked up to a year in advance, staff are happy to accept last-minute requests too.

Field House is an elegant Edwardian residence in a quiet neighbourhood, modernised former private house that has many stylish comforts, such as an oak-panelled lounge, fireplace and an ornate ceiling. Secluded gardens, each with a shady pergola, enable clients to make the most of the summer weather.

Residents have their personal plan in place to ensure their dietary tastes are accounted for, and snacks and refreshments can be enjoyed throughout the day.

There's a great atmosphere and the staff encourage residents to get involved as much as they’d like. To help residents feel at home, they take the time to get to know them. The home can then tailor activities to their interests and hobbies too. From activities such as community quizzes, crafts and flower arranging to tea dances and fetes, there is so much for residents to enjoy.

Being close to the station means some on-street parking restrictions apply but the team will happily issue you a pass.

My mum was a resident at Field House for over 5 years, in the same room and in the same bed. The care that she had was amazing. She was always washed and clean (albeit not always in her own clothes). She was turned regularly and had very few bed sores. The staff were very patient with her and some became
fond of her. They would go out of their way to ensure that her television was turned on and when she needed it, she was patiently fed. The manager was always approachable and helpful. During the pandemic they kept us informed with regular updates and when able allowed visits. They were able to identify changes in her and, know when her end was nigh, so we were able to say our goodbyes.

My mother came into Field House for 2 weeks for respite care. The whole process from making the booking, preliminary discussions, and admitting and discharging her was very efficient and friendly. The staff went out of their way to make mum feel welcome and include us as relatives in the process. Mum
can't hear on a mobile phone but staff were happy to organise facetime calls at our convenience. They kept us updated but were also mindful that as it was respite we didn't need to be troubled all the time with queries etc which was great. She was a little unwell at one point which they handled with extreme professionalism and a caring attitude. After discharge, we had to go back to collect some medicines and they were genuinely interested in mum, and about her wellbeing, how she had settled being back home, and wishing her the best. Thoroughly recommend Field House. Mum's comments were 'all the staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was very good and the room was lovely. I had a nice time'

Mum was admitted to Field House after a stroke, she was unable to speak and needed nursing care as she had a PEG feed insitu.
Slowly mum progressed, the PEG was removed and she had some great days, meeting new grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the seven years she was in Field House. The care
given to her by a dedicated staff group was brilliant. We were always kept informed of any important changes and the whole family was welcomed to visit. This changed with the pandemic but we were still able to keep in touch. A wonderful caring team. Who provided the family with support at a very difficult time, and mum with much love and care. My father was admitted to Field House Care Home in May 2020 from hospital. He was bedridden and at that time in a poorly state of health. Due to covid restrictions, we were unable to visit on a normal basis, however, whenever my father's health became 'critical' I was contacted and able to visit briefly.
This I found very comforting to both my father and me. I found him to be comfortable, clean and well looked after. My father also recognised that he was
in the best place for him in his situation. The staff of the care home were helpful, friendly and caring. However, it was not easy for them because of the restrictions brought about by the pandemic and the precautions they had to take, but it was obvious they were doing their very best to cope with an awful situation. I was kept informed of my father's health situation throughout but sadly he passed away in June 2021 five days after his 99th birthday. He had been well looked after during his time at Field House.

Field House was everything I had hoped for. My mum went there following a disastrous 3-week stay in another local carehome which culminated in her being admitted to hospital. She was discharged to Field House and I cannot fault their care in any way. The staff are brilliant and looked after my mum so
well in spite of her extremely high needs due to dementia. The managers are totally committed and know exactly what is going on at any time. The home is run in a very professional manner whilst maintaining attention to detail for each resident. Nothing is overlooked and my mum was treated with kindness and dignity. Although visiting was difficult I was allowed Zoom calls whenever I wanted.

Mum and Dad stayed at Field House, Dad for two years and Mum for five years. Although very sad to leave their own home, they soon realised Field House was a very comfortable home from home. My father went into Field House in August as he was no longer able to safely look after himself at home. Unfortunately, it was known that his time was limited due to his failing health.
From day one the team could not do enough to make him feel welcome, safe and happy. As such he settled in quickly
and benefitted hugely from the care and regular contact he had. He definitely seemed to improve in both health and attitude to life.
Clearly current circumstances meant visiting was difficult but the team did everything they could to facilitate and encourage contact with the family. In writing this review I am reliant on just 2 visits but also on our family's experiences when my mother was resident.
I was very impressed by the standards they maintained and the efforts taken to ensure the safety of father and their other charges.
As expected, my father was not with them for very long but I am grateful for the care and support they provided to him and our family in this difficult time.

My experience at Field House Care Home was a very happy one. My stay was only short, but the care and attention to detail was wonderful, any problems I might have had were solved with good grace and a smile. Such a great team working together made the home a great place to recuperate.

My friend was cared for very well for 5 years at Field House. She was always looked after with great patience, particularly so as she was a little eccentric. She died on 21st May during the lockdown period. Staff had been really helpful, keeping in touch with me regularly and arranging a phone video
call on her birthday. She couldn't have been in a better place.

During my almost everyday visits to my sister, I found the staff to be very polite, pleasant and helpful. My sister was there for end of life care and I think she was accepting that she was in the best place when she could no longer stay in her own home. She was allowed to bring in some small items
of furniture, pictures and other personal items, which made her room seem more homely. Although sometimes she was uncomfortable from her illness, she was treated with care and respect and was as happy as she could be in the circumstances. It was unfortunate that due to lockdown restrictions she did not have visitors for the last nine weeks of her life but that was not the fault of the care home.

My mum initially went into Field House 15-months ago for end of life care after a fall, followed by 3-weeks in the hospital. We as a family can’t thank all you wonderful carers enough for your amazing care and attention you gave to Mum during this time.
The fabulous chefs came in regularly to discuss
her food likes/dislikes to encourage her to eat. All staff are caring and get to know the needs of their residents. I believe you all became her second family over this time as her world became smaller.
She was bed-bound by her choice, but the regular check-ups by various staff throughout the day kept her occupied, even more so since we couldn’t visit. She constantly said how grateful she was for all the care and attention she was given. We as a family can’t thank every single person enough for looking after our mother the way you did!

Although my husband was only in the home for two weeks, the staff were amazing, very professional, caring and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. At the end of my husband's life, the staff showed so much care and dignity towards me and my daughter.
