The home is always clean and tidy. Residents all look cared for. The staff are all friendly, cheerful and caring, always busy with attending to the needs of residents. The food is really good. Overall, the atmosphere is calm and inviting, residents are included in activities. Laundry service is good - clothes returned clean and neatly pressed. A really first-class care team from the top to the often forgotten cleaners and kitchen staff and maintenance.

My Dad was lucky enough to be sent to Monread Lodge Care Home from hospital for palliative care, and even though it was a short stay due to his ill health, I have to say that the care he was provided during this time was really great. Having to send a love one to a care home is a stressful point in people's lives but knowing he was in a place where he would be looked after so well makes the transition that little bit easier to deal with. I can't speak highly enough of the team at Monread and I appreciate everything they did for my Dad.

Despite my initial reluctance that my husband should go into a care home, he was transferred to Monread Lodge when his health and mobility deteriorated such that I couldn't care for him as I used to. However, I needn't have worried. My first impression of Monread Lodge was of the warm and friendly atmosphere and the lovely staff who were so caring for my husband. He had quite a few health problems, but the staff always acted very promptly and professionally whenever an episode occurred. I have nothing but praise for them.

Lovely, friendly staff who are doing a wonderful job caring for my father. His main carer messages me with updates and answers my queries, providing reassurance when I'm unable to visit as often as I'd like. I also need to mention the delicious food, which my father very much appreciates, and I can vouch for having been invited to a taster session with the arrival of the new chef.

Thank you, team Monread.

The visit was very good. Had a chat with the deputy manager, very nice and welcoming. The home is always nice and clean and the staff seem very organised and caring.

Very pleased with what I experience on my visits.

Overall, I am really pleased with the standard of care from all carers. The facilities are very good, the hygiene is very good. The catering seems great - my husband is not complaining! I'm overwhelmed by the reception we have on visiting. If I phone it's never inconvenient. The staff always make time to speak with us as relatives. My husband recently returned to Monread from the hospital and reportedly said 'I am glad to be home', which for me says it all. He is happy here!

Kind, lovely staff at Monread made my aunt's stay just what was needed for two weeks respite after a fall. It was easy to speak with her on the phone at regular intervals and there was a real family atmosphere from the friendly staff. Thanks to all the staff.

Moving Mum into this care home was the best thing we could have done, she is positively blooming in Monread and it shows. She lives in lovely surroundings, with attractive decor more befitting of a country house hotel. She has made a new best friend with whom she enjoys meal times and there are plenty of activities during the week to keep her mind and hands busy. Mum is very happy, likes the staff and neither of us have any complaints.

Thank you very much for your lovely words Janetta and we totally agree with you that Mum seems very happy here especially since making a lovely friendship that you mentioned. As you know, they seem inseparable. which is so lovely to see and watch daily. They really do look after each other. Thank you once again for taking the time to review Monread.

My mum went into Monread Lodge for three weeks of respite care after my dad passed away. All of the staff were so kind to her and helped get her strong enough to return home. The staff kept is in touch with FaceTime calls and photographs of her enjoying activities. I can't thank everyone enough for the kindness and care they gave my mother, especially the liaison coordinator who helped me organise her stay at such a difficult time. I would recommend Monread Lodge without hesitation.

My mother was very unhappy about going into a care home, but since spending two weeks at the Lodge is very complimentary about it. The only complaint was that the porridge wasn’t as nice as mine, but I only have to make it for one person. Everyone was very helpful and kind.

My mum stayed for two weeks respite as my dad was in hospital. All the staff were so kind, lovely and caring and looked after her so well. The Community Liaison Coordinator came for the initial assessment and also made sure she was at the care home when my mum arrived for her stay which was great as my mum remembered her so felt more comfortable about being left. Overall I was so happy with the care home and I would highly recommend it.

Since moving into Monread Lodge, my mum seems a lot happier. She is more involved with daily activities instead of staying in her room all the time. I also find it so much easier to phone her every day and love our video calls, which we did not get from her last care home. The weekly newsletter is also lovely to read and nice to see all the happy faces in the photos. I do feel that I am included more with what is going on within the home.

My mother has settled well into Monread Lodge and now seems very happy in herself, as she was unhappy in her previous care home. My mother tells me that she is well looked after by the staff and she finds them very kind and helpful. I would like to thank all the staff for making my mum feel so welcome and for looking after her so well and making her feel safe and happy.

Mum seems to have settled into Monread Lodge very well. The transition from home to her first weeks was sensitively and sympathetically handled. The covid-19 restrictions are a bit of a pain as currently, only one family member can visit once a week and only for 30 minutes - but the need for this is understandable.

The staff all seem to be friendly and caring. Contacting Mum by phone is easy and an update on how Mum's doing can be readily obtained. Overall, Mum seems happy - and that's the main thing!
