River Court Care Home

Nothing is ever too much trouble for River Court and its staff and managers. My mum is now a permanent resident; she is very happy here. The care home is clean, friendly and has a very nice atmosphere. The managers and staff always go out of their way to ensure my mum is happy, from her well-being to her favourite food etc. She feels safe.

Activities are organised on a regular basis.

My father was in need of palliative care and moved to River Court Care Home from hospital, where conditions were very poor. The change experienced in my father's care in his final few weeks was significant. The room allocated was bright and sunny; he was treated with respect, freshly washed and shaved every day and dressed in clean clothes. The staff were all very caring and the management was diligent. Since I live in Australia and could not return to the UK so soon, the care home manager registered the death certificate on my behalf - this was very much appreciated. I have no hesitation in recommending this facility.

My mum was in respite for five weeks before moving to permanent care. We were extremely impressed with River Court. Mum was in the dementia unit and we found all staff friendly and very helpful. They really looked after Mum very well. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home. Thank you.

My dad arrived at the care home from hospital in a frail condition. Due to the care he received at Hampermill House he improved which meant that we had longer with him. The staff treated him kindly and with dignity at all times, right up until the end of his life. The staff were always very helpful whenever we visited and always answered any questions that we had. I would like to thank the staff at HampermillHouse for the care that they gave my dad while he was there.

Every member of staff is exceedingly kind, caring and polite. My mother-in-law feels safe and secure all the time. This is a great help to her and her relatives. Everyone has a smile and a warm greeting when we visit.

Bright rooms. Friendly staff, doing a difficult job very well. The atmosphere is always jolly, and the staff always smile and have time to talk to you. He is always full of compliments for the carers looking after him, and they never fail to cheer him up if he's feeling down. Thank you, River Court staff!

My Uncle Giovanni lives at River Court Care Home. During my stay in London, I was able to observe the care, respect and good service that he receive. All the staff are attentive to his food tastes and his particular characteristics. They facilitate communication with his loved ones encouraging him to make it happen. The visitors are cordially received. Upon entering we feel that he is in a warm human environment. I return to my country with the peace of mind that my uncle is with people who, in addition to knowing how to do their job, put love into their task of care. Thanks to each and every one.

We are eternally grateful for the kindness and support of mum with the inclusion of us, within care matters.

I stayed in River Court Care Home Watford from the 14th December 2021 to Jan 2022. I am 86 years old and mobile. I found the staff here from the cleaners to medical nurses so friendly helpful and kind - an old-fashioned world for an old-fashioned grace. You will be well cared for here.

I would 100% recommend nobody to place their loved ones in the "care" of this business... which seems clearly to be just that... business... and not care.

Last month, we held a lovely party here at my request to celebrate a letter from Her Majesty the Queen expressing gratitude and appreciation for a poem and condolences which I wrote following the death of the late Duke of Edinburgh. Staff and residents here were a wonderful audience for my speech at the party, and I am so grateful to all concerned. My gratitude must also flow to River Court for attending to my need so well during a recent attack of Covid-19.

Mum came to you from hospital and was very confused. A few days into her stay, she settled down and got back to her baseline. I visited her when I was allowed and thought her room was lovely, with a view over the garden and a tv that she could sit and watch. I felt the food was a bit samey and really needs to be reviewed. More fresh foods. The staff in Chess were kind and caring, a really nice atmosphere and I was a bit sad when mum left, so thank you very much.

Finding a care home for a loved one is extremely hard especially with Covid on top as well. We have always been well informed about everything that is going on and kept in the communication loop. Our dad has settled in well and the care is exemplary.

My dad moved to River Court in September 2020. We could not be happier with the care that our dad is receiving. He has settled in well and is happy. After a very difficult time, our minds are now at rest and this was the correct decision for Dad. The staff and management are very helpful and give Dad exceptional care. I would not hesitate to recommend River Court.

I am happy here. Everyone is helpful. I am safe and comfortable here. Staff are very kind and respectful. Nice place to live when you're not able to do things on your own.

My brother and I were upset to have, to have made a decision for our mother to go into care but we are both so happy to see Mum in such a good place. She is content and looks better in herself than she has for years, she says how kind the staff are and is fed well and hasn't anything to worry about. This leaves us as a family with confidence that we made the right decision for her.

I am very impressed with this care home. The staff are exceptionally helpful and my mum is well looked after and nothing is too much trouble.

I live over 200 miles away and have been unable to visit my mother. The staff are very good at keeping me informed of my mother's condition. My mother has had to go to hospital twice this year and I have been kept informed at every stage. The staff work extremely hard so it is reassuring to know that my mother is being looked after. The staff are always very friendly and helpful when contacting me to discuss my mother's care.
