The staff and carers in Hampermill go above and beyond. The care they give to the residents is second to none.
My dad was always clean, happy, well fed and entertained by the carers and staff.

They were all very friendly to us as a family and I felt confident that when we weren't there, he was being very well looked after. Thank you to all the Hampermill staff.

My mother has been very well looked after in River Court Care Home for nearly 2 years. In that time my mother has been treated with dignity and respect. The staff are always friendly and helpful even though they are always busy and sometimes faced with difficult challenges. I have only ever witnessed Kindness and compassion. I would like to take this opportunity to give a huge thank you to all the staff at Hampermill Unit, Rivercourt Care Home, for the patience, kindness, dignity, and love they showed to my mum who was resident there for nearly 18 months. As a family, we were always given such a lovely welcome. The unit is spotless, my mum's room was always immaculate. There are so many people who make this place such a nice home, the Matron, the nurses, carers, cleaners, laundry, catering, all doing such a difficult job to such a high standard, with humility, love and respect. I can never thank them enough. Sadly my mum has now passed away, looked after right to the end by these wonderful people. Thank you and we will miss you all.

A huge thank you to all the staff at Hampermill House Dementia Unit.
My wonderful uncle was a resident here for over 2 years and was looked after so very well by everyone. They cared for him with kindness and patience in abundance.
They also supported both my auntie and myself during his lengthy stay and most especially at the end. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they do a very difficult job with a smile on their faces.
I have nothing but admiration and thanks for all of the staff - nurses, carers, cleaners, caterers, laundry etc.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My 87-year-old mum is in River Court Care Home, Hampermill House. She has dementia and is very frail and not very mobile - but she has a wonderful heart and personality, and your outstanding unit manager and all the staff at Hampermill House have given her the best care I could have hoped for. Mum is doing so much better, and all your staff have kept her comfortable, clean and very cared for.

They are all polite and respectful and treat Mum in an incredibly kind manner - their professionalism really shines.

To all the staff involved with Grandad, I want to thank you for all that you have done for him. My dad has been my dad, my business partner, and I had the honour of being his carer for ten years. Not always easy, particularly just before my dad came to you. My mum and I were brought to our knees trying to help my dad on his decline, you as individuals have saved our lives as we were bewildered by the dramatic twists of Alzheimer's. You took over the care of the most precious person in me and my family's lives and you loved and cared for Grandad as though he were your own. For that, we will be forever indebted to you. With my hand on my heart, I thank you all for the love, kindness and support that you have given my dad and my family. Thank you.

Cecilia Kassanga
Cecilia KassangaJob Title:Home Manager

As Home Manager for River Court Care Home, Cecilia closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.

Discussing her approach to working in the care sector, Cecilia said:

“It has been my dream to be part of an environment that allows me to help and support those in need or are vulnerable. It is also imperative in the care sector to be patient, caring and a good listener which are all characteristics that I possess, making care work completely natural for me. Over a decade later and I remain truly overjoyed to be part of a rewarding sector!”

“My HC-One name badge says: ‘A good laughter, heals’, which I chose because I believe it’s important to make each other smile and laugh as you never know what someone is dealing with in private.”

When asked what she enjoys most about being a Home Manager, Cecilia remarked:

“Knowing that I am making a positive difference at every opportunity I get is extremely fulfilling.

Cecilia has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievements being supporting less fortunate children with starting and progressing their education in Africa.

Outside of work, Cecilia enjoys spending quality time with her two children, including as she says: “Either travelling across the country, world or simply down the road!”
