Mum has been here for just over a year now. She is very much at home. We know she is being looked after, and so have no worries. She gets on with the staff and has made friends here.

River Court is an excellent facility!
On every occasion, the staff are so friendly, supportive and caring. The facilities are clean and fresh and provide excellent stimulation. I am satisfied, completely, that my mother-in-law is receiving excellent care.
All staff are professional and a credit
to the home.
Activities provided are superb and undertaken by staff, who are happy and enthusiastic.

My 87-year-old mum is in River Court Care Home, Hampermill House. She has dementia and is very frail and not very mobile - but she has a wonderful heart and personality, and your outstanding unit manager and all the staff at Hampermill House have given her the best care I could have hoped for. Mum is
doing so much better, and all your staff have kept her comfortable, clean and very cared for.
They are all polite and respectful and treat Mum in an incredibly kind manner - their professionalism really shines.

River Court Care Home care for our father during the final two years of his life. I was a frequent visitor, I always saw staff who displayed kindness and care to all the residents. Our father received excellent care, always clean and tidy.

To all the staff involved with Grandad, I want to thank you for all that you have done for him. My dad has been my dad, my business partner, and I had the honour of being his carer for ten years. Not always easy, particularly just before my dad came to you. My mum and I were brought to our knees trying
to help my dad on his decline, you as individuals have saved our lives as we were bewildered by the dramatic twists of Alzheimer's. You took over the care of the most precious person in me and my family's lives and you loved and cared for Grandad as though he were your own. For that, we will be forever indebted to you. With my hand on my heart, I thank you all for the love, kindness and support that you have given my dad and my family. Thank you.

Nothing is ever too much trouble for River Court and its staff and managers. My mum is now a permanent resident; she is very happy here. The care home is clean, friendly and has a very nice atmosphere. The managers and staff always go out of their way to ensure my mum is happy, from her well-being to

My father was in need of palliative care and moved to River Court Care Home from hospital, where conditions were very poor. The change experienced in my father's care in his final few weeks was significant. The room allocated was bright and sunny; he was treated with respect, freshly washed and shaved
every day and dressed in clean clothes. The staff were all very caring and the management was diligent. Since I live in Australia and could not return to the UK so soon, the care home manager registered the death certificate on my behalf - this was very much appreciated. I have no hesitation in recommending this facility.

My mum was in respite for five weeks before moving to permanent care. We were extremely impressed with River Court. Mum was in the dementia unit and we found all staff friendly and very helpful. They really looked after Mum very well. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home. Thank

My dad arrived at the care home from hospital in a frail condition. Due to the care he received at Hampermill House he improved which meant that we had longer with him. The staff treated him kindly and with dignity at all times, right up until the end of his life. The staff were always very helpful
whenever we visited and always answered any questions that we had. I would like to thank the staff at HampermillHouse for the care that they gave my dad while he was there.

Bright rooms. Friendly staff, doing a difficult job very well. The atmosphere is always jolly, and the staff always smile and have time to talk to you. He is always full of compliments for the carers looking after him, and they never fail to cheer him up if he's feeling down. Thank you, River Court

My Uncle Giovanni lives at River Court Care Home. During my stay in London, I was able to observe the care, respect and good service that he receive. All the staff are attentive to his food tastes and his particular characteristics. They facilitate communication with his loved ones encouraging him to
make it happen. The visitors are cordially received. Upon entering we feel that he is in a warm human environment. I return to my country with the peace of mind that my uncle is with people who, in addition to knowing how to do their job, put love into their task of care. Thanks to each and every one.

My mother has been a resident for six months now.
Mum was adamant she would not go into care and this was an issue that became one of high risks!
This was a distressing time for mum and the family, wanting the best for mum, within her choices but knowing her being safe was the priority!
Mum came
to River Court ( Gade House) for rehabilitation from hospital but ended up needing to stay in care.
When choosing a care home to move on to, mum wanted to stay.
Making the choice herself. Saying " I am happy here. We laugh all the time and they are my friends!"
This comment was in regard to the care team, as a whole.
As a family, to hear mum being happy in a care setting, after such a struggle to get to this point, was just wonderful!
We are so grateful for the continued level of care to mum and her reassuring comments about how lovely the care team are to her.
We are eternally grateful for the kindness and support of mum with the inclusion of us, within care matters.

Looked after my dad for about 4-weeks after a TIA and fractured pelvis; he was in a lot of pain
when he arrived.
Cannot fault the home, really looked after my dad, and the staff were amazing.

I stayed in River Court Care Home Watford from the 14th December 2021 to Jan 2022. I am 86 years old and mobile. I found the staff here from the cleaners to medical nurses so friendly helpful and kind - an old-fashioned world for an old-fashioned grace. You will be well cared for here.

Cecilia Kassanga

Job Title: Home Manager

As Home Manager for River Court Care Home, Cecilia closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


Discussing her approach to working in the care sector, Cecilia said:
“It has been my dream to be part of an environment that allows me to help and support those in need or are vulnerable. It is also imperative in the care sector to be patient, caring and a good listener which are all characteristics that I possess, making care work completely natural for me. Over a decade later and I remain truly overjoyed to be part of a rewarding sector!”


“My HC-One name badge says: ‘A good laughter, heals’, which I chose because I believe it’s important to make each other smile and laugh as you never know what someone is dealing with in private.”


When asked what she enjoys most about being a Home Manager, Cecilia remarked:
“Knowing that I am making a positive difference at every opportunity I get is extremely fulfilling.


Cecilia has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievements being supporting less fortunate children with starting and progressing their education in Africa.


Outside of work, Cecilia enjoys spending quality time with her two children, including as she says: “Either travelling across the country, world or simply down the road!”
