When I make my afternoon visits to Sunrise to see my father, my main contact is with the concierge and I am always very impressed with the atmosphere of warmth and efficiency she reflects. In other respects my father's room is comfortable and the public rooms are clean and well furnished. The bistro,
in particular, is an excellent facility for sociable relaxation.

This is a beautiful home from an outsiders point of view. Bringing in an outsider it's all beautiful but the food is awful and it's not seen by visitors. Apart from that, the home is very beautiful the care is generally very good. It's only money spent on care which could be increased which is lacking
on most front. It's niggly things which spoil the home generally its great.

My aunt was made extremely welcome and found all the staff to be very helpful. As unwell, she didn't leave her room for a while but all the staff were in and out a lot chatting to her and checking on her. Her health has meant a stay in hospital, but she is looking forward to returning as soon as she
can; a reassuring sign for all the family of how happy she is at Sunrise.

Generally very good but not enough nursing/care staff to help with toilet/getting up, so have to wait a bit too long.

This place is expensive and we accept this. But, for this money we expect excellence. My father should never be waiting for his care needs or rushed on the toilet. He only gets fast attention when we arrive.
Entertainment often doesn't happen as advertised. No-one takes responsibility for anything.

There is no doubt Sunrise saved my dad's life.
He arrived with little expectation of anything other than palliative care. A year later, he is thriving. Open visiting means he can see his friends and family at any time. The concierge also arranges for a cab for us to take him on home visits.
We have
niggles from time to time over care facilities but nowhere is perfect.
It can be a struggle sometimes to get a straight answer, especially when asking who is responsible for something.

Generally, the staff are good and the care home is currently run well after some difficult times in the past.
The food is reasonable but should in my view be better, bearing in mind the high cost of residency. I have been a resident for many years and I have seen many changes in that time.

Overall I am very pleased with everything at Sunrise Chorleywood. However, I think the residents should have a greater say in the food they eat.
They pay a great deal of money to stay here and should be allowed to choose from a menu they like.

The staff and the positive, caring atmosphere are excellent. It helps a lot that there is continuity with the team at the home. It is reassuring for both the residents and their relatives.


Communication with the management could be better and there are times when there don't seem to be enough staff

around.

Respite care - Following my father's sudden death abroad, my mother came to stay with me. After ten days she became unwell, with unstable diabetes. She also kept falling over.
I found it hard to look after her and took her to Sunrise.
She quickly improved much to my relief. She had wonderful care
from the carers/staff and I have already been recommending you!
By way of improvement, I have to say the parking, especially in the day is horrendous and at times non-existent.
I have a disabled badge but people were parked on them without badges.
Also, you need to relook at the menus and devise a specific diabetic menu.
Choices were limited, however, top care.

Mummy came to Sunrise of Chorleywood for a months respite care. We organised it as a family to get her some VIP 24-hour care after she broke both her wrists. One due to a Parkinsons related fall at home, then the other on some slippery ice three weeks later. Both hands out of commission is a difficult
situation even for anyone healthy to deal with, so we all needed a bit of help.


Sunrise were very fast at organising the interview and the room at short notice. Efficiency was just what we needed at that worrisome time. We were all made to feel very welcome and the room was clean and lovely. Mummy was near to home so daddy could easily visit at any time which made the whole experience much more tolerable. It was lovely for us as a family to know that mummy was being watched over for 24 hours a day and that daddy could have some much-needed rest too.


Overall we felt the experience was highly beneficial. The emergency was smoothed over and made as much fun as possible under the circumstances. Thank you.

I have observed all the staff looking after my aunt and every single member of staff treats every resident with care, kindness and compassion.
The residents are looked after as if they are an extended member of their family. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they do their job always with a smile
on their faces.
They all do a wonderful job.

I have volunteered here for about 8 years and have observed many aspects of life in both parts of the community. We are most satisfied with the care, food, accommodation and the general ambience of the Chorleywood residence.

As Dementia Care Manager my passion is to ensure my team and I strive to provide the highest quality of dementia care to our residents, giving our residents and their families memories to treasure as we go through this journey together. I want our relatives to have peace of mind as they are reassured that their loved ones are in safe hands. My journey started in October 2008 when I walked through the doors for an interview as an Senior Care Assistant, I was met by the smiling welcoming face of one of our Concierge, the atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming I thought yes I can see myself being happy here, that was 12 years ago. I am now the Assisted Living Coordinator and work with a great team of Carers who are equally as passionate about the care they provide for our residents. My passion has always been to provide quality care for our residents. Creating a relationship of trust and being available to talk through any concerns or worries with both our residents and their loved ones is a priority for me.

I have an extensive background in premium pubs and restaurants which has transposed well in my recent move to Signature, ensuring we bring a premium yet relaxed feel to the service and food at Chorleywood. I have established a rapid love of the care sector, I enjoy bonding with all our residents and making sure they are looked after in every way. The team here at Chorleywood are amazing, we truly care for our residents and colleagues. It really is a lovely place to be!
