My father has recently become an assisted living resident of Sunrise of Chorleywood. He seems very happy there, he enjoys the activities he has participated in and enjoys the food. He says the carers have been very helpful. He has a lovely spacious room that was well prepared for him on entry everyone I have met at Sunrise has been very friendly and helpful, both in the process of entering the home and since he has been resident. I think he has made a great decision in coming here.

I have Power of Attorney for my friend who following a fall over ten years ago, I moved from hospital to Sunrise of Chorleywood. Being a resident for over ten years and now at an age that has been recognised by the Queen, I can say that we could not have found a better Care Home. The staff have been excellent with the care that they have provided and both my friend and I feel part of the Sunrise family at Chorleywood.
My friend has enjoyed a wonderful ten years of activities and care and recognises she has been and is very fortunate. I am kept informed on her welfare should medication change even though I make regular visits (currently subject to current restrictions due to the Government policy).
I have a real good relationship with the staff who I find are both very attentive and provide both the caring and social mix with the residents that are so important.

I am so pleased that the move to Sunrise over ten years ago has proved such a success.

My mother entered care at Sunrise of Chorleywood in October 2019 at the age of 90. She is in the assisted living area and has received excellent care from the moment she arrived. The staff work with her and the family to provide excellent quality of care throughout.

Moving to more recent times with the Covid-19 pandemic, the home has been very supportive, and have provided appropriate communication, fully explaining their approach and measures to keep the residents safe which I consider to have been effective. Their management of infection control was well developed and embedded long before the pandemic, and I had no concerns regarding the home's management of this key area. The home may be expensive, but the quality of care my mum has received has been excellent.

My 95-year-old mother joined the community at Sunrise of Chorleywood 2 years ago following several falls at home and periods in hospital, at which time we came to the conclusion that she would need a greater level of support on a day to day basis. Having viewed several homes in the area Sunrise was easily the best, offering good quality accommodation, attractive gardens and well trained and caring staff.
For someone who hated the prospect of having to go into a care home, my mother quickly settled into life at Sunrise and enjoyed chatting with her fellow residents, developing good relationships with the staff - who are generally excellent, and her health improved. She would describe the standard of food as inconsistent.

It is an expensive place to stay but offers reasonable value for money.

My mother was taken ill at the end of 2019 and after three weeks in the hospital need a period of time in a care home for respite care so that she could recover, regain her strength and confidence. The staff and management at Sunrise were superb in accommodating my mum and making sure that she transitioned smoothly from the hospital to the home. The initial trial period needed to be extended and then we needed to move to longer-term arrangement whilst we worked out my mum's longer terms needs for returning to her home.

During this period we have then been struck by the CV-19 pandemic and my mum's initial one month stay has now become six months. During what could have been a worrying time with the news around care homes - I have been so impressed with the level of care and communications shown by Sunrise. We are kept informed on a regular basis on how Mum is doing and any concerns, etc. I have every confidence that the staff at Sunrise are working so hard to protect and look after all the residents.

My parents (aged 91 and 94) moved into a lovely double room Sunrise in November 2016. My mother was very disabled and required considerable assistance, but Dad was and remains mostly independent. They have been very happy here. Sadly Mum passed away last year. We have been extremely happy with Sunrise. The care has been exceptional, especially during Mum's last weeks. The staff are really professional, kind and caring and they have been particularly so during the COVID pandemic. They are a very well managed home and have not experienced the problems commonly reported with PPE. They have also avoided any cases of COVID-19 in the Assisted Living area and have communicated really well with families throughout. Lockdown has been a very difficult time with relatives and friends not being able to visit, but right from the outset staff facilitated FaceTime calls with loved ones; they have also done their utmost to keep up the spirits of the residents. There are a few complaints about the food.

My mother suffered a severe stroke that left her debilitated. Before her stroke, she was caring for my step-father who had advanced Parkinson's disease. He also struggled with walking and was becoming increasingly confused, a condition that was later diagnosed as Parkinson's related dementia. Both therefore required full-time care but still wanted to be together. We looked at a lot of homes before choosing Sunrise and we are so happy with this decision. They have been able to live in their own apartment there and when you shut the door, they could be in their own home. Yet care is always on hand and that care has been exceptional. Before the virus family members were in and out most days visiting so we got to know the staff, but since then we have relied on them to keep our parents safe and happy - and they have. We are just grateful to the staff who are patient, kind, attentive to their needs and willing to answer and help with all their queries - and ours.

My mother suffered a severe stroke just over a year ago and my father has Parkinson's and dementia. It wasn't an easy decision to move them to a care home but we were keen to find somewhere they could be together and have a space that felt like their own. From our first visit, their initial assessment and to their arrival at the home the staff have been amazing. The care they both receive on a daily basis is exceptional, the staff are lovely and have made every effort to make them feel at home, from helping hang all their art in their room, to sitting and chatting when they need company. They have been cared for with great dignity and kindness.

There has been a lot of bad press about care homes in recent weeks but Sunrise's procedures to keep residents safe during the COVID Pandemic has been amazing. They have constantly kept in contact with updates and assurances, are well stocked with PPE and have taken every care to keep the residents safe and well. My family can't thank them enough.

Sunrise of Chorleywood appreciate moving into a care home can be an unsettling time. This is why we take the time to engage with family members and friends of the resident to make the process as smooth as possible, to get to know the resident on a personal level. We are pleased to hear your parents have settled in well.

I cannot thank or recommend the staff of Sunrise Chorleywood enough for their unstinting care of my dad before and during this awful pandemic. Everyone I have had contact with has been warm, caring, supportive and truly remarkable, all the more so since lockdown. Communication with families has also been first-rate. To say thank you seems inadequate for all they do and continue to do under these most difficult of circumstances.

My mother moved into Sunrise after my father died in 2012. The rooms are lovely and residents can have their own furniture/belongings which makes it feel like home. The staff have all been wonderful, polite and helpful. The residents always seem to be treated with dignity and are encouraged to remain active as long as possible. I have been able to have lunch with her on many occasions and the food is always delicious and well presented. The activities team are very active and organise events inside and have a minibus for outings. The gardens are a pleasure to walk in, well-tended and the residents are taken outside when the weather is suitable. The carers make an effort to get to know the residents' likes and dislikes which is very much appreciated by residents and family. During this COVID-19 pandemic, I have been very impressed with the care the staff are taking to ensure the residents are as safe as possible. They have the required equipment and keep in touch with families.

In November 2016 we moved our parents into Sunrise of Chorleywood. Our father had dementia and our mother was struggling both to walk and cope with our father. This proved to be one of the best decisions we have made regarding the care of our parents. The facilities are excellent and throughout the last three years or so our father was convinced he was staying in a 5-star hotel. The most impressive thing about Sunrise of Chorleywood, however, is the quality of care and service provided by the staff. Both of our parents have died within the last two months and the loving care they received right to the end was amazing. It made the sad experience of their passing so much easier to bear knowing that they were getting the best possible care. We will really miss our trips to Sunrise of Chorleywood.

All the staff at Sunrise have been extremely caring, thoughtful and helpful to my mother, attending to her every need as well as the families needs. She was clearly happy there and sadly has recently passed away.
The staff could not have been more caring and helpful to her family throughout her last days. They made a very difficult and stressful time much easier for us all to handle. My mother was treated with absolute dignity at all times.
I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. The friendliness and caring attitudes are at every level: carers, caterers, kitchen staff, reception staff.

People accepted here are privileged to have such good care and attention, which is exactly what we all need at that stage of our lives. The care that they all give to their elderly community and families is truly exceptional.

Following my mother having a fall at home, resulting in increased frailty and a chest infection, we needed to get both Mum, 88-year-old and 94-year-old Dad to a safe place with 24hr care quite urgently. Luckily Sunrise had a suitable suite available and they were able to move in within days of our first contact with the care home. Having visited my parents in their own home first, to understand what their needs would be, the home organised the furnishing of the rooms to help Mum and Dad settle in as well as possible, which was wonderful. My parents had good care during their stay, while we were able to use the time to adapt their home to get it ready for their return and live-in carers. In the end, they stayed at Sunrise for several weeks where they were safe and very well looked after.
