Trembaths

We appreciated the love and care you gave to our mum, during her stay with you. You took the time and trouble to learn of her interests. Thank you for caring about us as well. You have been very understanding and supportive to us, through this whole experience.

My 90-year-old uncle has been a resident at Trembaths for three years and in that time, he has been very well looked after by the staff. He can be quite a difficult character because of his dementia, but he has settled well there and the staff have got to know him and understand his foibles. He seems to be very happy with his routine at Trembaths. It was his 90th birthday in October and the staff were extremely supportive of having a small party for him and many family members and he had a great time. My thanks go to the staff for helping to organise it. Also, thanks to the events coordinator, who has been great in facilitating video calls with my uncle, as I live some way away.

The care our mum received at Trembaths was outstanding. The manager and staff always gave Mum and the family the best care and attention, right up until her passing. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we have greatly appreciated everything they have done.

My mother was in a very serious way when transferred to Trembaths a short while ago. Since being there, she has started to eat and drink again, is no longer scared or distressed. I can only put this down to the care and attention she has had from staff. They have all shown such concern and compassion from day one. It gives me comfort knowing she will end her days in these surroundings.

Staff are very friendly, courteous, kind, considerate & extremely caring. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated & comfortable. The whole place is very light and airy with a welcoming atmosphere.

I am so pleased my great friend has been placed here - she has many local connections that can continue by being here and the staff are all so friendly to her, she loves it here, they all show great care. She is terminal but she is getting such care and a feeling of belonging to the MHA family that she could never have experienced living alone in her old family home (she has no immediate family). Thank you so much for changing the end of her life in a warm and loving environment.

Trembaths is a nursing home/care home. The carers are outstanding in care, affection, fun and efficiency. The bedrooms with bathrooms and all the public rooms are of top class hotel standard. The food is excellent with a choice. The whole atmosphere is to provide what the resident wishes. Nurses are fully qualified and experienced.

Trembaths is a lovely care home and my friend is loved and cared for very well. The staff are warm, considerate and understanding of both my friend's needs and those of her family and friends.

We as a family feel really blessed that our mother/grandmother is in Trembaths. The nurses and carers are all so jolly and happy and look after her really well.

My father and I looked around a few nursing homes locally before deciding on Trembaths. When we visited (unannounced) we were firstly greeted by the maintenance man who was such a sincere, kind chap that we instantly felt this was the right place for mum, his passion and clear determination to make everybody, visitors and residents alike, feel at home was incredible. Mum was moved from hospital to Trembath in October 2018 the care we all experienced from every member of the team was fantastic. Mum became very unwell very quickly and whilst it was a struggle to leave her each night we knew, without doubt, she was getting the best possible care. All the caring staff are fantastic and demonstrate compassion and care for all. Our mum sadly passed away in Dec 2018 and her passing was handled with such affection and care it made an extremely difficult time easier to manage. What a truly wonderful team of very special people the staff at Trembaths are.

Trembaths is a home from home, each resident is treated with the utmost care and compassion from a dedicated and friendly staff. The home is bright and airy. Cleanliness is beyond reproach. The food is great and the activities are very well planned to suit each resident's individual preference. I have peace of mind knowing my wife is happy here and so well looked after.

Dad was 97 and very poorly. I noticed a change in him each visit. The staff were excellent. They kept regular checks on him, and on days I didn't visit if there was a problem they would phone me at home. It was also nice that staff, as they finished their shifts, would pop in and see Dad before they left. I found this very comforting. If I stayed any length of time, I could help myself to tea and the kitchen would provide a sandwich. I felt I was being looked after as well as Dad. When Dad passed, he went quietly and with dignity. He will be missed by staff and management. Many thanks to you all.

However, as resident become more reliant on staff for their care, Trembaths struggles to be able to provide the care needed. This is not a reflection of all the staff, some are exceptional and are holding up the rest of the home. From experience of spending long lengths of time at Trembaths as a visitor and volunteer, it became evident that the care staff were able to deliver was patchy. Residents are left unattended, medication was not always administered as prescribed, staff became dependent on visitors to take care of their own relatives. Communications regarding residents care requirements were often lacking. The CQC report has picked up some key issues but does not reflect the depth of these issues or other concerns.

Staff are always ready to listen and discuss any concerns, many will go the extra mile. Relations are respected and acknowledged.

My mother has only been at Trembaths since February but I remember our welcome on that first day. Members of staff met us at the door, I stayed all day setting her up. Little things were put in her room to make it welcoming.

The organised activities and trips out are great. The quality of food cooked on the premises is generally a good standard. I wish to make a special mention to the 'handyman'. He not only does his own work but many other things. His care shown to the residents is wonderful. A credit to Trembaths.

This is a superb care home. We are very pleased with the overall care end service given to our relative. The recently appointed Manager has been very kind and the Direct Care Assistant who looks after our relative has been excellent.
