The care our mum received at Trembaths was outstanding. The manager and staff always gave Mum and the family the best care and attention, right up until her passing. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we have greatly appreciated everything they have done.

My mother was in a very serious way when transferred to Trembaths a short while ago. Since being there, she has started to eat and drink again, is no longer scared or distressed. I can only put this down to the care and attention she has had from staff. They have all shown such concern and compassion from day one. It gives me comfort knowing she will end her days in these surroundings.

I know a lot about the care/nursing home sector as my work was supporting homes as a Podiatrist.
Trembaths is without a doubt, one of the best in terms of standards and management. It is a really happy home with lots of focused activities led by a very capable coordinator.
A recent addition has been a high cost interactive visual tabletop projector which is just amazing. Music plays a very important therapeutic part of daily events. There are lots of willing volunteers providing further support.
My wife in her diminished state is comfortable, happy and very well looked after.
Another benefit is that the home is dual registered. My wife had to be moved from residential to nursing care.

A great team who all work well together, I could not be happier for my wife.

I am so pleased my great friend has been placed here - she has many local connections that can continue by being here and the staff are all so friendly to her, she loves it here, they all show great care. She is terminal but she is getting such care and a feeling of belonging to the MHA family that she could never have experienced living alone in her old family home (she has no immediate family). Thank you so much for changing the end of her life in a warm and loving environment.

My father and I looked around a few nursing homes locally before deciding on Trembaths. When we visited (unannounced) we were firstly greeted by the maintenance man who was such a sincere, kind chap that we instantly felt this was the right place for mum, his passion and clear determination to make everybody, visitors and residents alike, feel at home was incredible. Mum was moved from hospital to Trembath in October 2018 the care we all experienced from every member of the team was fantastic. Mum became very unwell very quickly and whilst it was a struggle to leave her each night we knew, without doubt, she was getting the best possible care. All the caring staff are fantastic and demonstrate compassion and care for all. Our mum sadly passed away in Dec 2018 and her passing was handled with such affection and care it made an extremely difficult time easier to manage. What a truly wonderful team of very special people the staff at Trembaths are.

Trembaths is a home from home, each resident is treated with the utmost care and compassion from a dedicated and friendly staff. The home is bright and airy. Cleanliness is beyond reproach. The food is great and the activities are very well planned to suit each resident's individual preference. I have peace of mind knowing my wife is happy here and so well looked after.

Dad was 97 and very poorly. I noticed a change in him each visit. The staff were excellent. They kept regular checks on him, and on days I didn't visit if there was a problem they would phone me at home. It was also nice that staff, as they finished their shifts, would pop in and see Dad before they left. I found this very comforting. If I stayed any length of time, I could help myself to tea and the kitchen would provide a sandwich. I felt I was being looked after as well as Dad. When Dad passed, he went quietly and with dignity. He will be missed by staff and management. Many thanks to you all.

Trembaths have always had my father's needs dealt with in a quick and professional manner.
He was cared for and looked after in a way any daughter would want their parent to be looked after.
With respect, dignity and in some cases, where the staff were concerned, loved.

He couldn't have been in a better caring place. Unlike his last one.

Overall Experience
Trembath looks and feels/like a good care home. Staff are friendly, facilities are good and the activities for active residents are varied, regular and excellent.
Generally care for mobile/active residents is fair, especially if they do not require assistance for personal care etc.

However, as resident become more reliant on staff for their care, Trembaths struggles to be able to provide the care needed. This is not a reflection of all the staff, some are exceptional and are holding up the rest of the home. From experience of spending long lengths of time at Trembaths as a visitor and volunteer, it became evident that the care staff were able to deliver was patchy. Residents are left unattended, medication was not always administered as prescribed, staff became dependent on visitors to take care of their own relatives. Communications regarding residents care requirements were often lacking. The CQC report has picked up some key issues but does not reflect the depth of these issues or other concerns.

Staff are always ready to listen and discuss any concerns, many will go the extra mile. Relations are respected and acknowledged.

My mother has only been at Trembaths since February but I remember our welcome on that first day. Members of staff met us at the door, I stayed all day setting her up. Little things were put in her room to make it welcoming.

The organised activities and trips out are great. The quality of food cooked on the premises is generally a good standard. I wish to make a special mention to the 'handyman'. He not only does his own work but many other things. His care shown to the residents is wonderful. A credit to Trembaths.

Was given an emergency respite bed for my father and so glad it was here. Staff are so friendly and can't be more helpful and made my dad very comfortable. Rooms have all you need and very clean. Food is excellent and as much as the residents want. I stayed whilst they had a quiz which helped with memories and then a singalong which my dad joined in with. Lots to keep residents happy and anything they are interested in is taken into consideration. Can't recommend this lovely place enough. Well done all at Trembaths!

My father was resident in Trembaths for 10 months. Aged 89, he arrived after discharge from hospital, having suffered a major stroke. He had limited mental and physical capability, so he required hands-on nursing and personal care. Throughout his time at Trembaths, he received a high level of care from all staff - Nurses and Carers especially. His care was delivered diligently and sensitively and efforts were always made to improve his quality of life by involving him in activities wherever possible. Being a religious man, he especially appreciated the regular weekly services, as well as bedside visits from the chaplains to sing and share readings and prayers with him.
As and when there were issues with his health I felt that the nursing staff were on top of things and proactive in calling in the doctor when they felt it necessary. I was always kept informed of issues too, which was reassuring given that I live abroad.

I have no hesitation in recommending Trembaths.
